Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

I wasn't saying it made you honest- but there are 'backstage' experiences in the classes (or at least the one we attended) that a Disney fan would not want to miss out on.

We've done 4 classes, now, and I haven't found them to be really "disneyish" but that is my opinion. They didn't make us feel like we knew more about disney than before. We have learned a bit about the subjects, though. Sometimes they have hit the mark and sometimes not. But that is just my opinion.

To my knowledge the only way to get the dining plan with this program is to rent a reservation to stay at a DVC resort on points. DVC members can always add the dining plan to their reservations. We rent points for our stay, use YES tickets, and book dining plan.

Thank you so much!! I will email her right now. How do I rent point? My parents are with BG and I think they can use their points towards Disney through RCI, but I'm not sure how to find out about openings. I believe they have enough to stay at a DVC resort, but I'm not sure how to know when. I do have access to their acct, but I'm all kinds of confused!!! LOL

So, you HAVE used the YES tix WITH a dining plan while staying at DVC? I just want to verify that so I'm 100% that's what you said! :)

When I called cause I too wanted the 8 day, they told me they could only offer the 7 day now.

I'm going to be very upset if they won't let me do 8 day tickets after Ashley told me they could do that.

We are going to be at WDW for 2 full weeks, so we'd really prefer 10 day tickets just for the flexibility of being able to do a half day at a park on some days. But we figured we could get by with 8 days and the YES program was one of the reasons we decided to go in June.

Yes ma'am! Just got back last week and this is the second year we have done it. We rent points, have the member add the dining plan, and get your tickets ordered! You can take a look here on the DIS, there is a Rent/Trade board for points, or you can go through David's, he is a sponsor on that board. Have a great time!!!

I posted a separate post asking this, but I think it may get lost...

I saw that Indiv. Enrollment for June is open. Can I register for the YES program, but not buy park tickets yet? We aren't 100% sure we are going, but I would love to have the kids participate in the YES program.

Could I cancel (like, next month) if we are not able to take our trip?

I don't want to have to buy tickets if we can't go. But I don't want to miss out on the opportunity to attend the program either.

From what I understand it is no on both points.
When I enrolled they automatically took the money right away.
I believe someone had asked a few posts back about doing a refund and on the website it is stated as no.
Here is what is on my confirmation
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. This program is limited to Domestic U.S. groups only and orders are subject to validation before approval. Specially-priced Theme Park tickets of 10 or more, must be reserved in advance, and are valid 7 days prior to arrival until 7 days after group’s main departure date (theme park tickets only). Some activities/events at Walt Disney World® Theme Parks may be separately priced. All parks, attractions, tickets, and other items described in this website and accompanying collateral and all prices, operating hours, age requirements, and other terms for such items may be changed or discontinued without notice and without liability. The owners of the Walt Disney World Resort reserve the right to refuse admittance to any persons, and shall not be liable for non-utilization of ticket components or loss of recreational opportunities due to refurbishing, capacity, inclement weather, special events or any circumstance beyond the owner’s control.

Ok, so you rented points through someone else and they booked your stay AND your YES tix? Did that person order them through the website separately, or did they call to get them? Looks as though we (my Dad and I) will be doing the booking since he is the points holder, so I want to be sure before I order tix from the website.

Thank you for the info. I am making my DH start the taxes tonight so we can have a ballpark for our return and see if this trip is possible. I was so badly to take advantage if we can. My DD would LOVE LOVE LOVE these classes!

I am not the one who did this...

but I own DVC
you book your own YES program
the member will book your room and dining plan for you

I just got an email from Heidi yesterday:

Good luck!

Hey, Thanks!

Just so happens I've got a friend (my folks are all sorts of confused with the process) willing to part with her RCI points so we can get DVC, but only I see open right now is July and it won't fit all 6 of us. Also, she can only trade out whole weeks? BOO! Better than nothing though! Gonna keep looking and praying something opens up later in the year. So you can book dining through DVC even if you don't have park tickets? Well, I guess you can eat at the resort and other places NOT inside a park, huh?

Is there any proof of this or is it just a guess? It seems to me that there are a lot of random guesses being made, which is not helpful. I get that people don't want others to ruin the program, neither do I, but I hate when people make up threats and scares.
I'm pretty sure my wording in my comment included "it sounds like maybe…" and "just a curious question…" as opposed to "I am certain…" and "I know for a fact…" I think the above reference to making up threats and scares is a bit of a stretch. My observation from previous posts is that a group that was able to participate previously is now being denied. There are also others who have posted that no-shows may be a reason for tighter restrictions on group credentials and, IMO, ticket length. Also, if you "hate when people make up threats and scares" it is always an option to use a PM for clarification of what the person posting was trying to convey.

Me neither, but it won't really matter. There are enough people out there who will read a thread like this, order their tickets and go about their merry way. Disney knows this, it isn't rocket science. I also have a pretty good idea of the "ticket tracking" due to an incident on our trip. (not related to missing a class.) I don't believe in making stuff up, though, to try to keep people in line.

The kind of people who will do that kind of thing aren't going to care about the future, etc.

????

lol, there are people on the dis who will lie about their child's age to save a few bucks. Being a disney fan doesn't make one honest. And the budget board is a hit because it saves money. That is the primary goal of many people.

Exactly, which leads to more than myself wondering if those wanting to "lie about their child's age to save a few bucks" are going to cause more restrictions in the program.

You are correct. And that is the beauty of a public forum where everyone can express their opinions, theories etc. Everything we read should taken with a grain of salt, but without assumptions.

Here is my question I did my registration last week on Friday it has not been processed yet. I did get a confirmation they received it but my credit card has not been processed yet. Anyone else having this problem? Should I call tomorrow and see what is going on?
Thanks,
Shelby

Previous Poster is correct. The DVC member will book your room and dining plan, and you will book your tickets separately. There are no DVC one bedrooms that hold 6 (that I am aware of). You can book 2 studios or a 2 bedroom (2 studios would be cheaper). The 2 bedroom would give you a full kitchen as well!

I reg. last week also.
Also got the confirm email.
Checked my card online today, no charge.

It may have something to do with the "Will Call" selection.

When I ordered our group tix for Nov., I had them mailed to me. The charge showed up a feww days after I placed the order online.

Ah... but she is not able to do use her points nightly and can only 'trade' for a full week and I think she's only able to get one room? I have to double check with her.. she has so many points that she just lets us pay the fees and that's it. Her and my mom both go on a big trip every few months and a cruise every year and several weekend trips and they still have points left over?? I think they use 'bonus time' or something as well. I really have no clue!

Well maybe you could have your friend book a 2 bedroom? that is considered one room, but it can be quite a lot of points. If she has them to give, then hopefully it won't be a problem? Even if it is, you can still rent from someone here or from David's. Where there's a will there's a way!

Quick ? for you pros:

My DS is 16, would 1 of us be able to attend the class with him?

2nd ?- I know that we will need 3 tickets for our family for a June class. We might be having another person, but they are not sure yet, can I order that ticket later?

An update please, for anyone who knows:

Are they definitely blocking people from signing up for classes unless they do open enrollment? Would this include a homeschool group with at least 10 kids?
