DIS Meet Dec 8 07

.... I've been thinking--I don't make a lot of money working for the municipal government, although I get great benefits, but I never have to worry about them selling out or going out of business!

Beth

This is me as well :thumbsup2

I work for The Salvation Army and do not make a lot of money either (but I didn't go to work with them to make money anyway). The benefits are fairly good and we'll have a decent retirement but the best thing is that The Salvation Army has been "in business" for over 150 years. There is no one to buy them out. So unless I really mess up VERY badly I'll have a job. That is a good feeling.

:cheer2: :cheer2: GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:cheer2: :cheer2:

Hmm...are you sure about this? I don't ever remember reading that DVC gets dining free. I have read that they can pay for it.

You get it free if it's free for others. You pay when they are paying. :cool1: If there is no charge for the dining plan and you ask for it, then it would be free. Pretty sure, but now I'm self guessing. I'll call member services tomorrow and ask if it was free last year for DVC in Sept.

awwwwwwwwww I just read on the CM boards that a Performer in Germany died on stage while performing :sad1: Blessings and Prayers :wizard: for his Family and Friends.. as well as Anyone whom watched it happen live.. :guilty:

Drat! I called MS too late to find out about the dining. 3:30 for me is past closing for MS. Will try again tomorrow.

Sad, sad. Prayers for all.

:cheer2: Congratulation to Merryl and Beth on the Giants' win! :cheer2: We were rooting for y'all. :cool1: It did make Bill feel better that the team who beat the Cowboys in the play-offs won the Super Bowl. :thumbsup2

:scared1: What an amazing fourth quarter. I was in awe when Eli was almost sacked, then threw the ball and then that crazy catch by the receiver. The ball bounced off the guys helmet and he still caught it. I didn't dare call my Dad after the game. What was with Belecheat going into the locker room before the end of the game? I know there was only one second left, but he was a poor loser if you ask me. :sad2:

Once again, Congrats on your team's win! :goodvibes

 I am interested to know about the free dining too. We purchased the Dining Experience card with our Annual Passes. It has saved us ALLOT of $$$$$$ on meals at WDW. However, we may not do APs again next year. I am curious if we are able to participate in any dining incentives offered to on-property guests using our DVC points for the lodging. Please keep us posted on what you find out. Thanks Angie! :goodvibes

:sad1: I am sorry to hear about anyone's passing. Do you have the link to the thread? What happened?

BTW . . .

party: HAPPY Belated BIRTHDAY STACY! party:

:flower3: Sorry, I hadn't been online in a few days. It sounds like you were pampered and spoiled by Andy. What a romantic, roses and chocolate-covered strawberries. Yes, he's a keeper. :thumbsup2

If every football game was like this one, I'd watch a lot more of them! I agree about "Belecheat". The team should be fined because of his great sportsmanship! What an example to set for younger fans.:sad2:

That's still so worth it! :)
Maybe the next time I go I can eat more than croissants and crackers!;)

Good morning, everybody!

Just checking in to make sure that everyone is OK after the terrible storms last night. Since so many in this group travel so often for business and/or pleasure, it's hard to tell who is where when storms hit!

Beth

Everything is good over here in our neck of the woods. All around us got it pretty bad, but the only thing that really happened in Jonesboro was really bad thunderstorms. The tornado sirens did go off, and we did get in the storm shelter, but nothing came from it. Mountain View, AR, Highland, AR, and Memphis, TN (all within an hour west and east of Jonesboro) all got it REALLY bad. Our prayers go out to all who had damage and lost their lives.

I thought of you both when we heard it was heading for your neck of the woods.. We are happy you are safe :grouphug:

I have an aunt and cousins who live in the Nashville/Lebanon area and I can't reach any of them, not sure if phone lines are down. No internet either.
