OK guys. I'm heading out for the long weekend. Will most likely miss the next three days and return to the boards on Tuesday. At the rate this is going, it may be closed by then.

To all the Disdads and families. Never forget why we honor those that have served and protect us, both past and present. Have a great weekend celebrating and hug your loved ones, especially the kids. :thumbsup2

Stay safe and have a great weekend!!!

We are back at the Savannah for a break. Cheerfully woke up at 4 am, was at the bus stop by 4:40, on the bus at 5 and standing by the flower Mickey circle at 5:30.

We were right up front for the opening ceremony. Lots of TV and radio remotes. BUT a way smaller crowd than I expected. Most people were able to get through the turnstiles before the opening and there were no long lines of people standing on the other side waiting to get in.

It was a zoo getting merchandise but after we bought our Tees it was cake. Everything was a walk-on for the first couple of hours. We even did the Belle story-time thing in less than 15 minutes. I was amazed but enjoyed it.

We left before the parade and the crowds were pouring in. As nice as it was this morning, it is going to be nuts this afternoon and tonight.

Adam and I played, "Where in the park are you?" We seemed to be on opposite sides of the park. Have not touched base with Nate yet. Will probably meet up with both of them late tonight.

Our plan is to crash here and then get up late, put on our PJ's and head back over. Fun morning.

Another thing that makes working in the World look 100 times better!

I agree. Ready to move?

4 AM? Make it a great long day.

Silly American, you can't get drunk drinking water.

:lmao:

I'll accept that challenge, assuming you buy the beer. We'll see how much water, er um, Bud Lights I can drink in 30 minutes and see how intoxicated I can get. And, buy me some pizza so I can tolerate the taste.

Don't forget to wave.

Buy you beer, feed you - what do I get?

You get to spend time with me. I'm told I'm even more fun to be around drunk than sober. If I lose the bet, i.e., I'll reimburse you the expense. But, let's think about it. If I drink one beer every 3 minutes, then that is 10 beers. Think I would be intoxicated on that amount? The beer does need to be cold.

I saw that episode.
Home School is closed for the year. We put together some orange baskets for the kids last night filled with orange stuff and a note saying "Orange you glad school is over?" They were  and :cheer2:and the teacher is :faint: A couple of days and they will head north :beach: and I can finally get things back into order.
We don't homeschool, but my wife teaches Spanish to a bunch of homeschooled kids. So she's done now. I like her job. Done by mid-May and the kids give a bunch of gift cards as thank you's.
That's the attitude. We threaten to divorce each other from time to time, with the biggest threat being the other parent gets stuck with custody of the children. The real story is "September - 13 years of marriage and are too tired to get a divorce". How's that sound for a t-shirt? :lmao:

I usually just say, "It's cheaper to keep her!".
I agree with the prevailing DVC argument. We bought in knowing it wasn't a good financial investment, but it was a great investment in our vacation time. We're happy with the purchase so far.
I think I've given up on DVC unless someone dies and leaves us money. I tutor enough to throw enough $$ in to the Disney account for a trip every year but I might not want to tutor forever. That will do for now, but someday I'd like DVC. My wife prefers offiste, but if I'm not in the "bubble", it feels like I got shortchanged. Right now we're trying to rent points through one of the DVC rental companies. The problem is that even though the rooms we want are available (BLT) they just don't have an owner with enough points yet (363) to take care of our request.
just got the text. done with traditions!!! official cast member of the walt Disney world company!!!

DW sent me little parade updates, she's been watching the feed all day at work.

Don't they lower the flag at 5:00? I've never seen that but always wanted to. Of course, that means I would have to be at my desk at 5:00. On a Friday. Of a holiday weekend. Oh well, maybe some other time.

To all who serve and have served this great country, I thank you and my family thanks you for your commitment and service to us all.

DISdads - Happy Memorial Day Weekend. Won't have much time this weekend with all that is going on and wanted to make sure to wish all a fun and safe weekend.
