Ok. So the customer send me a pdf file because the tech support guys are out today. I go to open it and it's password protected. Here is the conversation:

ME: I can't open it, I need the password.

THEM: It's the password you used on your SW PDF (meaning ours) in 2005.

ME: We didn't use a password in 2005, why don't you just tell me the password.

THEM: I can't tell you for security reasons.

ME: Really? How do you expect me to open the file?:headache:

THEM: Use the old password you used to use.

ME: We didn't use a password, I already explained that. So, for security reasons you can't tell me how to open the file to help support your problem.:mad:

THEM: Right, you just need to use the old password.

ME: I think we have a miscommunication. I have told you already that we do not have an old password. I have been here since 2002 and we only used a password since 2010 and it has never changed. I tried that one and it doesn't work.:headache::mad::mad::headache:

THEM: Well I can't give it to you so you'll have to figure it out.

ME: Well, I hope you don't need an answer today because I don't do riddles and I certainly don't plan on returning after lunch. I'll let the support department know that they can call you on Tuesday when the file doesn't open and you can explain you put a password on it, but won't tell us the password.

THEM: Well, OK. If you can't solve the problem, I'll wait until the support guys are back.

REALLY!?! Do I need this on a Friday before a long weekend. Who puts a password on a file and doesn't give you the password to open it? What a dumb@$$. I can solve the problem. How about the fire you and hire someone who isn't an idiot.

I was having a good day. Now I want to punch someone.

If he emailed it to you, he can text you the password or tell you over the phone. That is sufficient - as long as two different mediums are used: one to sent the password and the other for the file. Duh. Sometimes people are so hard-headed. :confused3

After *that other theme park company* announced the Springfield section yesterday, I told DW and DS about it last night and showed the artist conception art. I mentioned that it would be cool to check that out and ride The Forbidden Journey (aka The Greatest Theme Park Ride in the Entire Universe) again while we were out there for our Walt Disney World visit in July/August. You know, just 'throwing it out there.'

Well, DW and I emailed back and forth today and she ended up changing our flights, adding two days to the start of our trip! So we are going to stay the first two nights of the vacation at Loews Royal Pacific (the cheapest option for that other park's hotels) and do a few days with the elusive front-of-the-line access in those parks! Woo Hoo!

Then we will finish up with the Royal Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside. I am SO looking forward to this. I guess I should start up a PTR this weekend for some comic relief and an outlet for excitement.

I just wish the personalized stormtroopers were being offered to order beyond the Star Wars Weekends - that looked awesome.

Have a great and safe Memorial Day weekend everyone - I know I will... I have some more plannin' to do!

You get to spend time with me. I'm told I'm even more fun to be around drunk than sober. If I lose the bet, i.e., I'll reimburse you the expense. But, let's think about it. If I drink one beer every 3 minutes, then that is 10 beers. Think I would be intoxicated on that amount? The beer does need to be cold.

Well you had me at drunk.

:rotfl:

Have a great holiday weekend.

DISdads - Happy Memorial Day Weekend. Won't have much time this weekend with all that is going on and wanted to make sure to wish all a fun and safe weekend.]

You too. Going to drinking party tomorrow. DW already said no fireworks this time.

Yeah, I saw that as well. My family are big Simpsons fans and we will have to put Universal on one of our future trips.

I'll pick you up on my way!!

I'm waiting at the door.

- I tired the password and get an error.

- What's the error?

- It's an ID TEN T error

- I am not familiar with that error

- Write it out... ID10T

Evening guys, only an hour left to play before the weekend!

VERY eventful day today as a co-worker was escorted out today in handcuffs. Made things more interesting. We weren't divulged of the reason, but safe bet is internal theft. What an idiot. Lots of people here are shaken, but don't really have an emotional attachment to anyone here, so whatever.

Awesome!! Our original plans for August called for a day or two "over there" but financial logistics saw it getting cut. ;)

Sucks for him... but you summed it up perfectly!!! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I imagine that would be a site. I've been there when staff has been escorted out and fired, but never arrested. It must have been something big. Or, at least that is how it works here before people are arrested.

Wow. Arrested? Man, that would be awkward.

I am hoping these plans don't get scrapped later also.

Have never seen that before, were there customers in the store as well.

Hi guys!

Just arrived at work to find out that they gave me a trainee for the night. Just so happens I trained him on the shift 2 weeks ago. So guess who gets to sit back and "supervise" tonight??

:cool1:

That takes the sting out of the fact that my wife texted me before to tell me they were watching the MSEP on the live stream.

Been a heck of a day. A lot of little things that all got under my skin. I yelled at my son a few times. Snapped at my daughter once when she cried over something I thought was insignificant. Not winning any parental awards today.

For dinner, my wife wanted Japanese takeout. So I call in the order and the last thing on the list is a children's hibachi meal. The woman on the phone tells me, "I'm sorry, the children's menu is for dine-in only." In the mood I was in, it got ugly fast.

I just don't understand why I can't get something offered on the menu because I am not staying to eat it there. So I had to pay $7 more for the adult version. I wanted to hang up and order from someplace else, but it's the only place around and both DW and DD had their minds set on it.

Hope everyone else's weekend is off to a better start. I'll be working each day, including monday, so we'll see how it goes. My plan is to update my TR at least once per day this weekend.

probably won't happen. :rotfl2:

This may be far fetched but, you may have saved that company alot of grief:confused3, Since they could not give you any info, it may have been a hacker trying to get into the system it is along weekend this week so it would be Tues before anyone might notice something:confused3, I would give it to your supervisor and label it suspicious, this way they can follow up on it:confused3, I might be looking in way to deep, but since my Father was a cop he taught us to trust no one fishing for info:thumbsup2

This is a bit unrelated, but this just reminded me how the bank will call me and then ask me for my social security number to verify who I am. I always give them a hard time about that.

I've had that happen, I tell them I'm uncomfortable giving that kind of info over the phone, if it's a credit card they may then ask for the last 4 digits or ask a security question that a lot of banks ask when you open a account that would identify you, like Mother's maiden name or First pet's name etc.

I do think if you call them you may have to give info asked since they don't know who they are talking to, but if they call you (usually I don't answer any 800 #'s ) I hesitate on giving out info, besides if it's something important they will send out a letter:confused3

with BoA they asked me to verify the last few purchases I made. I only answer the 800 numbers if I'm confident I don't owe anyone money. :lmao:

Made it to Sarnia safe and sound.

Have never seen that before, were there customers in the store as well.

It was set up with LCBO resource protection, local police and the store manager. I was eating lunch when it went down, but I think it was done out of the customer area. Although apparently those working at the Blacks Photography across the mall were using the zoom on cameras to see what was going on. We have no true "backdoor" so it would have still be visible from the parking lot. Again, don't know, don't care.
