Interesting observation I had during our last drive to WDW. There are different versions of songs played in different areas of the country. There is a song by the Zac Brown Band called "Toes in the Water." The version we hear up here in Wisconsin has the line "I got my toes in the water, @$$ in the sand."
While driving through Kentucky/Tennessee/Georgia (I don't remember where, and it was 2 am so all of the scenery is "darkness") that song came on the a local radio station. However, the line was "toes in the water, heels in the sand."

So, clearly, Wisconsinites are all a bunch of godless heathens that cuss and swear at the drop of a hat. :upsidedow

You know, I can't figure out what exactly the determination is that is used to dictate what and how to radio edit. I think the version I usually hear on the radio is "toes in the water, toes in the sand" yet in Toby Keith's Red Solo Cup, they don't edit out the "kiss my @$$" part, but they do change the word testicles to vegetables.:confused3

good friday morning!!

DW was sick the last couple of days, but happy to report she went back to work today. One less person to take care of. :rotfl2:

just turned down some extra hours at work on the possibility of attending a DVC event here. Have not received official information on it other than the rumored date. I was already working that day from 2pm-10pm, and my boss asked me to come in at 11. But I turned down the three hours of OT in hopes that there will be a morning session of the DVC event that we can attend before I go to work. It was a tough call, but I also had to take into consideration that I am working 6 days each week from now until we go on vacation. Even if the DVC event falls through. Having a lazy saturday morning will be nice.

In other news, the cruise is now officially paid for!! ended up paying about half of that using disney gift cards I got at Target with a 5% discount, saving a modest $110 off the cost of the cruise. From now until the trip, going to stock up on more gift cards to use for tickets/dining/souvenirs.

DD's dance recital is this weekend. looking forward to seeing her Tap instead of doing these ballet numbers that make my eyes water. :rotfl2:

Congrats on the meeting and kart racing. Did you throw any turtles at the other drivers?

Ok, I haven't checked the Dis since cinco de mayo. I think there's a story here I need to read about.

My BiL did that for his bachelor party too. It was great. We even had a NASCAR type moment after the race when I went after the guy who spun me after the final race. :rotfl2:

Makes me proud to be from KY. Owensboro is home to both Daryl & Michael Waltrip.

I couldn't personally threaten them with not going to WDW. There's no way I could follow through on it. I don't believe in making idle threats.

DW makes those threats. They know it's not going to happen, so why bother.

They change it hear as well. I have the song and proudly play it with the real lyrics. My future dream.

I was kicked off a kart in Wildwood, NJ for driving like an idiot. Yes, I was intoxicated and actually announced before the race that I would get myself removed. My friends didn't think they would kick anyone off because we hadn't seen it happen the whole time we were there. turns out they do. It was funny at the time, but I look back now and think what a Beverly I was.
y it!

Yes, you are a Beverly. Not really, but I don't get many chances.

We're in the midst of college planning for the eldest now. The stack of brochures and mailers continues to grow, and he's starting to identify potentials. He's ending his sophomore year strong, with a very solid GPA and next year will have 3 honors courses instead of just 1, and will be in a college extension course, already embarking on earning those credits. Life is busy, but good.
.

Good to hear from you. Don't stress with the college stuff too much. While I think there are a few elite schools, the right career choice and right contacts at a local & cheaper college are just as beneficial.

They did have a bar on the 2nd floor, with a large glass wall so you could watch the action below you.... :rolleyes1

Genius business model. They opened one here and it closed. Maybe it didn't have a bar.

Down here is the South, we can only read a few words at a time, so we get to pick and choose. Freedom of religion only refers to Christian religions, own a firearm (but that whole maintain a militia thing went out the window), and freedom of speech is ok that doesn't offend my freedom of Christian religion. Duh!

Glad to here cruise is paid for as well as dance recital. Enjoy the moments.

Awful quiet around here today...

Sorry, I was out at Evan's preschool graduation. Probably 40 kids (in 4 classses) each one introduced individually by the teacher, who then had a few remarks about each one. By the time the last one was introduced, the kids that went first had been sitting up on the stage in their little chairs for close to 45 minutes. I'm sure you can imagine how still they sat for that long. :joker:

:lmao::rotfl2: Well, I'm sure it made for an entertaining show.

While the kid is getting her hair and makeup done for the prom, I started to plan our Disneyland portion of the trip.

What a difference in making a dinning reservation at DL vs WDW. Wanted to get Napa Rose but you have to call the restaurant directly. They open up at 5:00pm Pacific so will call tonight. The DL neophyte that I am, didn't realize that a new restaurant (Carthay Circle Theater) is now taking reservations. They mentioned it on the spiel while I was on hold. Didn't know what it is but decided why not.

Gave the CM the date and time and poof, it was reserved. Our Conversation: Her, "OK, you are all set." Me, "Don't you need my credit card number?" "No." "Are you going to give me a confirmation number?" "Nope, we don't use those. Just show up a little before your reservation and give them your name." "That's it?" "Yes, that is it." I am a bit freaked out right now, not having a confirmation number.

Got off the phone and Googled the place. Seems it is an upscale restaurant along the lines of California Grill. Opens June 15 with the rest of CA openings. Looks interesting.

Need to find my Unofficial Guide to see what else I am missing.

Hey guys.

Been busy here covering our operations from our DR site due to the NATO activities in Chicago this weekend. Our company has only a skeleton crew in the downtown office, and another short staff here at our DR site. So far things have gone well but we'll be out here again on Monday, which I fear will have a higher volume of activity (Mon vs Fri business flows)

Congrats to Evan on graduating. Time to move on to bigger and better things! :thumbsup2

Ignoring the stuff in the middle, I would think that the Unofficial Guide will tell you your short a few Benjamins due to the first line above. :rotfl2:

Tired again. DD has been getting up 1-3x/night, and since I am the at-home parent, I am the one that gets to get up and take care of her. Hopefully this will pass soon - she's 5, and this seems to happen every few months.

Did not do too much yet today - got DS on the bus, DD to preschool, took a cartfull of bottles and cans back to the store (so that I could get that deposit back), quick trip to the hobby store, then took scout stuff over to the school, picked up DD, dropped books off at library, deposited checks at the bank, and went and compared some new mowers.

(It sounds like more than it is - that's not too abnormal a morning, more or less. Different day, different routine, but more or less the same.)

I should be cleaning, since the in-laws will be here tomorrow for DS confirmation this weekend, and I will start in a bit, but I made the mistake of sitting in my comfy chair after lunch, and just haven't gotten moving again yet.

:faint:

I can think of a few adults that might have gotten a little squirmy as well.

So far, my worst school experience was the kids' Winter Concert a couple of years ago. No religious Christmas music, no secular Christmas music...just well over an hour of completely unrecognizable songs...more shouted than sung. :headache:

I wonder if they just take your name and (gasp) write it down?!

The comfy chair? Sounds like somebody fell victim to the Spanish Inquisition. Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

One of the few benefits of parochial schools is that our kids are "allowed" to sing "Christmas" carols.

Nah, that doesn't work, does it? If you did that, you would need someplace to keep that information, kind of like an eBook, but paper-based.

Get.... THE COMFY CHAIR!!!!!

Genuinely sad day in Wrigleyville. Looks like Kerry Wood is retiring after the game today.:sad1:

I just hope Dusty learned his lesson and doesn't wreck the arms of the Reds' young pitchers.:sad2:

I remember watching the day that Kerry Wood got 20K's. I don't remember if it was for gym class or if we were getting ready to go out to baseball practice but a bunch of us were around a TV in the locker room at our high school gym. He had some impressive stuff (as did Mark Pryor). It is just a shame that they couldn't stay healthy.

Congrats to Evan. Has he gotten a job yet?

The prom Beverly is nothing compared to the Benjamins I need to shell out for school when I get back.

I wonder if they just take your name and (gasp) write it down?!

Hope so. That is why I am freaked out a bit.

After a long hiatus I have fallen back in love with Baseball. Have tickets to two games next week. Forgot how fun the game is.

Andy, I am surprised you are not busting my chops over the Heat/Pacers series.
