Tons of Beach options down the East Coast. St. Augustine is a historic area with nice beaches. Agree with staying away from Daytona. Overpriced. New Symrna is nice but not a favorite of mine. Vero is a bit south and around 2 hours from Disney. Your closest place to Disney and on the beach is Cocoa/Canaveral. Straight shot to Orlando (via toll road). Nice beach with lots of hotels either on or within a short walk to the beach. Kennedy Space Center is near there if it interests you. Lots of hotel options available.

CJ, you might want to look into buying your DLR tickets today, the price goes up tomorrow.

Just in time for my birthday

Morning everyone.

Still sore this morning but needed those 10 hours of sleep to recover. Everyone else is still sleeping while I enjoy my morning coffee. Soccer day - coach, play, and ref 2 games. I noticed that when I stopped exercising last month, I returned to my routine of eating terrible food in mass quantities. So, even though I am exercising again, I am not losing weight from my caloric intake. I need to start eating better again.

Morning all...sitting here at the computer before I really get moving today, as I try to wake up. It's Saturday of the long weekend so it's busy busy! Fortunately, the skid count today should only be 5-6 skids, and the ordering glitch was fixed by this poiint so it should actually be stuff we are out/low of this time. You will not believe how much easier that makes it, less walking/carrying heavy cases. Today I am in charge too. By 6 though, I'm off for the long weekend, not back in the store till Wednesday!

Tonight my DW has chosen to play babysitter for both our own kids and my brother and his wife, and I get to go out to the movies to see Avengers!

We stayed in Vero in October (DVC) and it was terrific. Definitely a family beach with no overhead helicopters or cigarette butts on the beach like Panama City Beach. The beach is not as large as the others, given how they have the tree break setup, but it does have a green lawn where you can also check out games and play them. They have a pool with cool water slide and mini-golf for a few dollars right there. They also had the campfire, s'mores, pool games, and a resort scavenger hunt. There are also the paid excursions but we don't do those. There is a TS, QS, and bar at the resort, but my favorite was a dinner place in town, Ocean Grill (?) that served Florida lobster. I think it was about 2 hours southwest of WDW.

I thought about Vero, but would have to see the pricing, our budget for the beach days is smaller then the Disney ones, or would like it to be.

My eyes lit up at the thoght of going to Kennedy again, but not sure we can afford/find time for the extra excursion. Amelia would like that, but not so sure Audrey would care yet, maybe when they are older. I will look a little closer at Vero as well further up at the St Augustine area, which has a few other things I'd like to check out as well....the beatuy is, I have 15 months to work it out

Have a good day at work, fun at Avengers movie, and great long weekend. I don't know about pricing since we did points, but they have busier times than others and there may be some deals. I remember seeing them on Expedia one time when we were searching hotels.

Busy day today with Soccer and day 2 of Dance Recital. Gotta mow the weeds (aka my lawn), and may also try to get a bit of landscaping done in between.

I know it has been a while, but I am still alive and kickin'. Just wanted to check in and say hi over here (I have been spending more time on the 'other' board.)




Oh, and I just noticed that I was finally visited by the Tag Fairy®!

Hey guys...it was a full day at work so I didn't get to stop by so I'm checking in now.

Graduation day is tomorrow, so it addition to my classes with non-Seniors, I had to stop by the graduation practice to make sure everything was going smoothly and then it was working on grades to get everything finished up before Monday. We have a funky schedule, graduation is tomorrow, but final exams for non-Seniors are next week, so my last day of the school year will be next Friday.

DD was up throughout the night, then finally sick this morning about 15 minutes before our normal time to leave. Fortunately I was able to take her to my mom's house and leave her there today. Of course, around 11 when I got the phone call that she had spiked a fever and they needed me to bring her some medicine, it made for a rushed half-hour finding someone to cover my class, rush home, then run by my mom's house to drop off the meds.

But...when I got home, I was happy to find DS mowing the grass, which means he's off to his grass cutting job tomorrow morning instead of having done that this afternoon. He's about to leave to go to a friend's house and swim with his g/f and three other girl's. He was asked to go away with his g/f and her family for Memorial Day weekend, but we put the kibosh on that one, but I did offer to take him up there for a day if he'd like.

She's now off to a friend's house for a Pampered Chef/Thirty-One/Stella and Dot/Mary Kay party.

Beautiful weather here today. Unfortunately, it's time to go to work. Saw that the DL tickets are going up this weekend, that means WDW should be going up in the next couple of weeks?? Was happening in august for a while, but now it seems to happen in June.

DAMN! Gave up trying to buy DL tickets today. Online is down, called and their system is down and AAA is no help. Over an hour trying to give Disney $400+ bucks. They are supposed to call me back when the system is back up. Doubt it will happen.

Made it back from soccer. We were short 3 players in our league and ended up playing down one player. We ended up tying that game. Then, another team was short 3 players in anoth division so I took some of my players over to th mixed division and coached them to a 0-1 game. It was a close game. I was proud of my daughter as this was the first time she has played against the boys and she did very well. She had a few hard shots on goal , but just couldn't get them to go. I refereed two games after that while both girls played on the inflatables at fun day. Tomorrow will be our last game of the season. It has been another great one. A beautiful and hot day.
