Well when you are up here visiting your cousins in Toronto - don't forget a DISdad's meet is in order.

Bring the family up for a BBQ. :thumbsup2

hes always buggin me to come up. i want to come up to go to the shooting range with him. he took his father-in-law and i seen the pics. :thumbsup2
he reminds me alot of fed for some reason.

WOW a lot happens when I get busy. Between work, my sons Wrestling, and getting our house ready to be a licensed daycare I have not had a spare minute to drop by.

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving and enjoyed some family time.

Welcome to any new dads and prayers are going out to anyone that is in need of them.

I have had a busy month or two but well worth it. My wife will be completly licensed to run a daycare in our home this week. Which is great because she will be able to stay home with out new little one that will be joining us in Feb.

My son finished up his city athletic association wrestling season with a 1st place finish in the end of season city championships. We are so proud no matter win or lose, but it will set off the youth wrestling season on a high note.

I even have a few videos on facebook of his wrestling, have to show my little guy off, wish I had even more.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

My wife ran a home day care for a few years - it was really tough.

The hardest thing was finding kids in the neighborhood.

And then after finding them, it was keeping them. Young families tend to have there kids within a few years of each other, and when the next bundle of joy comes, mom stays home and takes the kids with her. :rotfl2:

She now works at a Daycare Centre, no stress of finding the kids - for some reason kids seem to flock to the day care centres.

Good luck... :thumbsup2

:lmao: i had to google gestation!!!! :lmao:

I've had a tour of the ETA facilities (shooting range included).

Ask him - if he is at Leslie and 401. :thumbsup2

Not so known fact 'bout my early education - I went to college for Law Enforcement. Never pursued it though.

Gotta love Canada for free health care.

This may come as a shock, but I have NEVER paid a cent (Canadian or US) for any health services.

Oh you've paid. Just not OOP. :lmao:

I am a convert to the US system and there are things about Canadian Health I just don't get.

It really comes down to this, in Canada people are conditioned to expect to wait and not question healthcare. Doc, please take no offense to my next comment, but I like to question and discuss care options with my health care providers.

Also with the Canadian health system my broke an interior bone in his hand and could not get the surgery done on it for over 5 months. The worst excuse that I heard him get was that the doc (the only doc) had to cancel his scheduled surgery due to an emergency call in (fine) but that it had to wait 1 month because that 1 doctor had the month of August scheduled off for vacation. This just didn't seem right. Especially since he broke his hand in April / May time frame and finally had surgery in September.

wow. cant you just go to another doctor in another area or are there limited doctors and you have to go to the one in your area? :confused3

Brave man, posting a pic off the Internet these days!

None of you guys could offend with posts. Don't ever worry about stuff like that. But you're nice to consider it!

It now appears that we will have to find a few things for Santa to bring Lauren again....because Ethan ...being the detective he is...found the loot that we ha stashed under the bed until we could get it hidden someplace else. Luckily none of it was for him!!! Unfortunatley, if the found loot turns up on Christmas morning labeled from Santa...I think the jig will be up!!!:scared1: Looks like that stuff will no be from Mom and Dad and Santa is going to have to shop again and this time hide better!

I'm back. I'll probably be around more later.
Thanks again for all of your generous support. And once again, my apologies for my role in that little fiasco.

Awesome, welcome back

Wait for Approvals - it doesn't really work like that. I think you need approvals because it's insurance.

In Canada it is not insurance, it is government coverage.

So there really is no approval required. If it is Dr. recommended, they do what needs to be done, and bills go to the gov't.

As for wait for procedures... WHOLE different story. Depending on what you are getting done, you can wait up to a year. In fact the justation period for a women's pregnancy here is 16 months. :rotfl2:

Well, I'm glad I have coverage via work, the price of meds etc can make it all add up. I was annoyed when dad got diagnosed with his cancer, it took over a month to get surgery scedualed, and after they found some on his liver, it took forever for the MRI, then they gave a CAT scan instead, realized their mistake after, and was QUICK to correct it.

Sometimes we do too good a job, we stashed years ago a Disney Princess Tea Party set for Amelia one year, found it three years later where we hid it:lmao:

Wow...very quiet tonight, must be all the turkey leftovers kicking in :lmao:. Looking forward to the weekend off. DW has plans tomorrow with her friend down from Montreal, so it's me and the girls. The original plans were for us to go to the Science Center, but DW suggested we all go Sunday...works for me, so likely go down to the park, visit grandparents, and Disney and/or Christmas Movies, either way should be fun.

A while back, I was shopping and asking for suggestions on bourbons...as it turns out, money has just been too tight, so I've opted for now to hold out. I still have a 40 oz.'er of rum to use as an exchange though, so before long I'll get something. I had my heart set of the Maker's 46, but it all sold out. might wait to see if our Product consultant can get some Rip Van Winkle that is comming out. Till then, I`ve been stockpiling on beers that have come in. Some rather nice stuff too, Unibroue Grand Reserve 17, which tops out at 10.5% (!), and some Fullers from England releases. Does any dad know if Samuel Adams has released the Holiday/Winter variety pack yet? It's on my cross-boarder shopping list. Also were are due to get Brooklyn Monster Ale in December up here...any good?

I've been reflecting lately on all that's transpired here the past few days, and when it comes down to it, I'd really hate to see anyone go or lose what there is here. I have a rather closed life, mainly it is work and my family, and this is as close to "hanging with the guys" as I get. I so appriciate the way you guys have let me into the little club, I can be quite introverted. It's meant a lot to me. Let's hope to keep it all together. I wish I could post more often, but that's life, eh? Anywho, it's late, and I'd better get my rest now, the kids are going to run my ragged in the 'morrow.

Good morning guys! Checking in from Valdosta this morning. We should be on the road soon and to Kidani no later then 1pm. I hope everyone is doing well :cool1:
