thanks guys!!! tammys idea for the candles. we have them in our front windows all year. looks like there going to stay in the garage windows all year. :lmao:
Doc (Chris) - professional question :)

Ventolin - side affects? I've been asthmatic most of my life - it comes and goes with the season, but this is the time of year it hits.

I've been taking Ventolin (2 puffs when needed - about every 6 hours) - and lately I am having fast heart palpitations. Almost like nervousness or anxiety, or kinda like drinking way to much coffee.

Is this normal?
i can help brian, does your left ear hurt and your right foot itch after the two puffs???
The lights look geat Dave!!!!! I will try to get some pictures as soon as I get all the lights up!!!

WAIT!!!! this is the united states buddy!!!! we will need your $50 deductable first pal!!! :lmao:

Yes, this is expected (ventolin relaxes bronchoconstriction in your lungs but works like adrenaline and causes your heart to race). Every 6 hours is a lot. Maybe you need a better maintenance controller medication this time of year. At our age, palpitations can be unsafe. If it persists, there is another rescue medication (similar to ventolin) called Xopenex that doesnt cause as much heart palpations. If you start having chest pain or any other scary symptoms (sweating, shortness of breath, arm pain), seek better help than me!

I am not sure there is better help out there... but I see what you are saying; see someone who can see me. :rotfl2:

Thanks.

Gotta love Canada for free health care.

This may come as a shock, but I have NEVER paid a cent (Canadian or US) for any health services.

I have wondered how the Canadian health care system compares with the American system....do you have to wait long for approval for procedures?? What other differences are there??

Wait for Approvals - it doesn't really work like that. I think you need approvals because it's insurance.

In Canada it is not insurance, it is government coverage.

So there really is no approval required. If it is Dr. recommended, they do what needs to be done, and bills go to the gov't.

As for wait for procedures... WHOLE different story. Depending on what you are getting done, you can wait up to a year. In fact the justation period for a women's pregnancy here is 16 months. :rotfl2:

I have heard that there are long waits to have procedures done there. I just never knew what sort of wait for Cat Scans or other xray type testing. Sometimes waiting can prove to be deadly. however, with that being said...I think here in the US that exams are ordered too easily and sometimes without need. The system here does need to be overhauled but not sure how well it would set with people to go from the current system to one like the Canadians. I see positives in both...

Scans, Ultrasounds, X-rays, and blood tests - that kinda of stuff - no wait.

The waits are to see specialists, surgeries (knee / hip replacements), etc...

Emergency surgery is done right away.

i.e. my son was recommended to see a speech pathologist (at the age of 5) as he had problems with pronouncing some common sounds. He was on a waiting list for about a year. But when he finally got to the top of the list, he had a visit once (sometimes twice) a week - for about 6 months.

No doubt!

my toronto relatives are always grumbling. she is from the us and hes from canada. they both work for the toronto police dept. i forget the percentage she said she pays of her income to tax's compared to here. but than, here you have to buy health insurance so i guess it all works out the same. i dont know how it works for the health care providers in canada.
tammys nero. doc has office hours basicly on wednesdays. he told me he sees 35 people on wednesday. thats moving. its funny, you dont feel rushed with him. he answers all your questions and of course he asks alot of questions about disney when we are there. :lmao: i told him about the boards, maybe one day i can get him on here.

Well when you are up here visiting your cousins in Toronto - don't forget a DISdad's meet is in order.

Bring the family up for a BBQ. :thumbsup2

*thinks* If I were banned the other day - the world would have missed out on my "women's gestation period in Canada is 16 months" joke.

WOW a lot happens when I get busy. Between work, my sons Wrestling, and getting our house ready to be a licensed daycare I have not had a spare minute to drop by.

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving and enjoyed some family time.

Welcome to any new dads and prayers are going out to anyone that is in need of them.

I have had a busy month or two but well worth it. My wife will be completly licensed to run a daycare in our home this week. Which is great because she will be able to stay home with out new little one that will be joining us in Feb.

My son finished up his city athletic association wrestling season with a 1st place finish in the end of season city championships. We are so proud no matter win or lose, but it will set off the youth wrestling season on a high note.

I even have a few videos on facebook of his wrestling, have to show my little guy off, wish I had even more.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Thanks.

You're kind!

Vancouver is building a sweet new Children's Hospital. Got a tour when I was up there last year. You guys are very lucky to have such a greeat place!

They do a great job consolidating care up in Canada (I.e. All congenital hearts done at a couple of places), but I imagine it's hard on families being so far from home for so long
