Morning, guys! Dave, glad you survived that elevator ride!

Does any dad know if Samuel Adams has released the Holiday/Winter variety pack yet? It's on my cross-boarder shopping list. Also were are due to get Brooklyn Monster Ale in December up here...any good?

I've been reflecting lately on all that's transpired here the past few days, and when it comes down to it, I'd really hate to see anyone go or lose what there is here. I have a rather closed life, mainly it is work and my family, and this is as close to "hanging with the guys" as I get. I so appriciate the way you guys have let me into the little club, I can be quite introverted. It's meant a lot to me. Let's hope to keep it all together. I wish I could post more often, but that's life, eh? Anywho, it's late, and I'd better get my rest now, the kids are going to run my ragged in the 'morrow.

I had some of the Brooklyn Ale over Thanksgiving. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Don't know about Sam Adams

I totally agree with your feelings about our little community. No one wants to break us up (at least none of the regulars). But I think this experience has helped us understand how vulnerable our group is. We need to protect this better. :grouphug:

Wow...very quiet tonight, must be all the turkey leftovers kicking in :lmao:. Looking forward to the weekend off. DW has plans tomorrow with her friend down from Montreal, so it's me and the girls. The original plans were for us to go to the Science Center, but DW suggested we all go Sunday...works for me, so likely go down to the park, visit grandparents, and Disney and/or Christmas Movies, either way should be fun.

A while back, I was shopping and asking for suggestions on bourbons...as it turns out, money has just been too tight, so I've opted for now to hold out. I still have a 40 oz.'er of rum to use as an exchange though, so before long I'll get something. I had my heart set of the Maker's 46, but it all sold out. might wait to see if our Product consultant can get some Rip Van Winkle that is comming out. Till then, I`ve been stockpiling on beers that have come in. Some rather nice stuff too, Unibroue Grand Reserve 17, which tops out at 10.5% (!), and some Fullers from England releases. Did you see my beer post in the last "now only a rumor" DISdad's thread?

I went to the LCBO with a gift card with a remaining balance of exactly $25.55, and picked up some beers.

When I checked out, by fluke it was to the penny the amount on my gift card.

I posted a pic of my outing.

And hey, we all feel the same 'bout the tight community we've built. Would be a shame to lose it all over such a trivial matter.

And Brent, if you are ever up to it - PM me, or leave a message here, and we can have a brief DISDad meet - even just a coffee at Tim Horton's or something. :thumbsup2

Not bad, although, I think I am developing into a beer snob (no where near the levels of those guys on bartowel.com though). I find half of those beers taste the same, although the Carlsberg and Faxe stand out. I'm more an ale man myself. My recent purchases have been Fuller's Golden Pride, Fuller's Old Winter Ale, Unibroue Grand Reserve 17, Goliath Ale, King Goblin, Highballer Pumpkin Ale, Southern Tier Pumking, and Creemore Urbock.

I can do the meet-up, although it`ll have to be after Christmasm due to a solid sched. My biggest knock is...ready for it? I don't drive. DW is the taxi, errrr um...driver of the family, I use transit for myself, it's what I am comfortable with :confused3 Work right now, as I figure you know, is crazy. Christmas at a liquor store is NUTS. (at least in the GTA), I've been to smaller town/city stores on Christmas Eve, staff stand around bored, we have lines outside the store waiting:scared1:

No prob - after X-mas. We are pretty booked as well.

As for driving, we are in a similar situation, but reversed. My DW doens't drive, so I am the chauffer for the family. I do the dropping off and picking up at events, cubs, guides, etc... I do most of the grocery shopping, etc. So I understand that.

But maybe we can meet at some attraction, i.e. you mentioned Science Centre tomorrow (I definitley can't go tomorrow). But I've heard you mention the Zoo, The CNE, etc... We've got season passes already for next summer at Canada's Wonderland. :confused3 Either way, we'll figure something out. :thumbsup2

It now appears that we will have to find a few things for Santa to bring Lauren again....because Ethan ...being the detective he is...found the loot that we ha stashed under the bed until we could get it hidden someplace else. Luckily none of it was for him!!! Unfortunatley, if the found loot turns up on Christmas morning labeled from Santa...I think the jig will be up!!!:scared1: Looks like that stuff will no be from Mom and Dad and Santa is going to have to shop again and this time hide better!

:lmao: i still hide briana and tammys stuff!! tammys is on the second floor of the garage. you need a ladder to get there and she wont climb a ladder.:lmao: brianas i put in the back of the disney van. the van is locked in the garage and she dont have a key. :lmao:

Fortunately, we have not had this happen yet. Although, my oldest is in 4th grade and while I suspect she may have figured it out, she is also real naive. My 2nd grader has been talking about what the other kids on the bus say about Santa. As for DW, I have her present wrapped under the tree. This will bother her more than keeping it hidden. We also have other present wrapped for them from us under the tree. Santa will bring DW a stocking present.

I think I've mentioned a before that - although it isn't thanksgiving in Canada, we are doing a big Thanksgiving dinner tonight.

We have some friends coming over, and we got a 17.5 lb turkey.

The turkey's been defrosting in the fridge all since Wednesday.

I opened the turkey this morning - and it is missing a leg. :scared1:

That SUCKS!

But hey, just means more of the other turkey parts. :thumbsup2

I am glad you are an equal opportunitist consumer, giving the handicap a chance to be eaten as well. One year mom got one without a wing.:lmao:

Very well said. I am a transplant to this small town, which is a large scale experiment in groupthink. Not only does KY not have any professional sports teams, but Owensboro does not have any Division I colleges. Thus, people in this town affiliate themselves by which of the 3 high schools you attended. I enjoy being able to meet such a diverse set of guys with a common interest and love for their families.

Yep. Just saw it in a store here in Iowa. They dumped the White Ale this year for a new one called "Black and Brew" which is a coffee stout. Looks promising. Unfortunately they kept the Chocolate Bock (awful in my opinion).

Tell everyone it is Long John Gobbler and no one will think anything of it and make you llook like a pirate killing hero at the same time :rotfl2:

That's the special limited edition "Lieutenant Dan" turkey!

We haven't been to Wonderland since 2002, when we first did Disney in '03, we never went again. We're not thrilled with the poor seating for larger guests on rides *cough*...we usually get annual passes for the Zoo, Science Center and ROM though...

Hey guys! Did I miss anything over the last couple of days?:rotfl:

Just popping in to say hi from st Pete beach. I was going to post a picture of the sunset but was worried the girl in the bikini on the beach might get me in trouble.:lmao:

:scared1::rolleyes1:eek:

Well, Marshall might not have much in the way of football this season but the basketball team just went 5-0 against Cincinnati in Cincy!!! WooHOoooo!:dance3::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

UL football may get a bowlgame this year, and if enough teams lose, they get a BCS Orange Bowl. But, they cannot defeat the Thundering Herd.

Agreed - we are not fans of CW - but the kids enjoy it. We get the CW pass every other year.

We get the Zoo pass every other year.

We got the OSC pass once - haven't been there for about 3 or 4 years.

ROM - DW has been saying she wants to get that... we will see.

We'll figure something out.

I was kinda stoked to get the CW pass next year because of Leviathan - looks incredilbe. It's half built now. I took a pic of it the other day from the 400 on my way into work. I will post it shortly.
