We are considering renting a car from the National EA for our trip in 9 days. Are there any good discount codes for National floating around that can be combined with the EA? We don't have an Entertainment Book so that is out.
Thanks.!

Go to entertainment.com and sign up for online membership 10 day free trial. Print the coupon of your choice for National and it is the same as having the book! Also free! Easy to cancel membership before the 10 days is up!

Thanks - I've been trying to get to Sam's Club to check for a coupon - now I don't have to!

I think I've ended up with a great deal - $120.71 for 8 days -Emerald Aisle!

One week and I'll be there!

Just signed up for Quick rent. Got an intermediate for $134 for 7 days. I was just wondering though is that what they charge you when they get there, or are there "hidden" extra charges that will add to the total when we get there? I need to make sure there is enough on my Mastercard! Thanks!

FYI: If you use quick rent you CAN NOT use coupons.

Just thought you'd want to know.

We used the discount code id# for quickrent but no coupons- the website would not even let me do it with the coupon. Wierd thing is though that when I got the email notification it actually said all the quickrent mumbo jumbo at the top and down below it gave us the price WITH the coupon!! We will be figuring the total on the website, assuming when we get there we will not be able to use the coupon even though our paperwork lists it. I was wondering about charges NOT listed in the paperwork. Will there be any other ones?

If your paperwork lists all sorts of taxes, fees, surcharges, etc., then they are probably all there and there shouldn't be any others.

This is what it lists:

Surcharges:
FL SCHRG/TIRE BAT FEE 2.05 USD/DY 14.35
LICENSE RECOUPMENT FEE .49 USD/DY 3.43

Taxes:
STATE TAX (6.50%) 8.23

I thought I read something about some airport fee. Is that already in the price?

These are the ones from my Alamo ressie:

Taxes, Surcharges and Fees
Concession Fee Recov Chrg 9.8 % $9.54
Fl Schrg/tire Bat Fee 2.05 Usd/day $14.35
License Recoupment Fee .49 Usd/day $3.43
State Tax (6.50%) $7.88

Looks like the national charges are missing the Concession Fee Recov Chrg. Is that an Alamo thing ro should we expect that to be added on even though it is not listed?
Thanks!

Just sent you an email. :moped:

Found intermediate on National for $113.56

Used priceless code and the $20 coup from ENTERTAINMENT BOOK. You can print this coupon from the link duds posted.

from your countdown clock I figured your dates were 22nd-29th.

HTH

thank you Duds for the link. I was able to get a full size for 10 days in May for $209 using your coupon and the Priceless code.

This is on $30 more than we paid last year so not a bad deal. I'll keep watching in case weekly rates drop.

Is there a coupon out there for a free weekend day? I am going in Feb for a long weekend and am currently paying $118 for EA intermediate. Anyone have advice?

Here is the Sam's Club info:

Coupon ID - 10009341
Contract ID - 5504500

You do need the coupon which is available at Sam's Club.

8 day Full Size is $137.39 including tax (1/28 - 2/5, 2005)

I just rented a car yesterday from National (we are flying into Tampa) using the Priceless code, the Entertainment coupon (I think for a free weekend day, I don't have my book with me today) and product code WE3DY (3 day weekend rentals through February 15 -- I found this on the National website). My total charges for three days Intermediate size car, $52.43. Can't beat that!

Is there a link to a weekend day coupon? (like the link above to the $20 off weekly) or do I have to buy the Entertainment book?

I am going for a 4 day weekend (thurs - mon). Thanks!

Thanks for the Passbook code. It saved me $21 on my March 12-19 reservation. I tried to modify my old reservation with the numbers for the passbook discount and the rate came out $3 higher than the original rate. When I started over with a new reservation it came out $21 less. Please try it both ways before you decide.

Hi,

I was wondering if you need to by an Entertainment book for this coupon code to work. I printed the one coupon but noticed both listed. TIA

Watch out for hidden charges........

They will try to add insurance onto your rental. They will ask you to initial in a couple of places and tack on huge insurance fees. These are not required! They will also try to tack on pre-paid gas. This is not a good deal! Do no initial anything without reading it first! The only thing you need to do is sign at the bottom.

Do I sound like I got burned? I did! I don't want it to happen to anyone else!
