Concierge/Club Level Information - Part II (Sept 2009)

After my previous questions about why IPO had not contacted me yet, once they had my credit card information, they were very prompt about getting back to me with all my requests in place! I was a little worried since we are booking this kind of late (august trip) but no troubles, everything was available (Victoria and Albert's, Fireworks Cruise, Segway Tour, plus regular dining reservations!)

Hello! Thanks for all the great info in this (and the earlier) thread. :thumbsup2

Sorry in advance if this has been asked (probably many times) before  I have read a lot and think I saw this already but can't remember where :confused3

We have a split stay coming up in November at BWI CL and then onto WL CL. Will BWI IPO make all my ADR's at 180+10 or do I have to wait for the 180+ on the WL dates and have the WL IPO make those?

TIA.

I'm glad you're finding this thread useful! :goodvibes

My personal experience is that the IPO will be happy to make all your ADRs for you. :thumbsup2 (just make sure they have all the information they will need - including a credit card # if needed for any of the reservations.)

I would definitely suggest contacting them in the next couple of days. You want to make sure they have all your information (including Credit Card # if needed for any of the ADRs) at least 2 weeks prior to your 180-day mark. :thumbsup2

Make sure you get the auto-reply email so you'll know your email went through. And if you don't hear back from them within 2 days; send another email! ;)

We are staying at the Poly CL November 5th and 6th - at the end of a DVC stay! Anyway, can you please direct me to the IPO phone number and/or e-mail address? This is the first time i'm staying CL and am just realizing they can assist me with my ADR's. Thanks so very much !! :goodvibes

I've used the POLY IPO for much more then I thought I would. I reached out to them last night to see if they could schedule a parasail experience for my husband and I. Yes indeedy they can, whoop!

hi there! I'm thinking of doing a split stay between the CR and AKL CL. I am thinking of doing the DDP at the beginning of my stay for the first three nights while at the CR, then switching over to AKL CL with no dining plan and just winging it. I was wondering if IPO would still book my ADRs for the days I'd be staying at the CR, or would they only book for the days I'm actually staying at the AKL? I'm going to book all the big boys while I'm on the DDP, and just do CS while I"m at AKL...anyone ever do this? :confused3

Nice!
Please be sure to let us know how it goes...
I'd love to do something like that, but have a real fear of heights.
Don't mind living vicariously thru you, tho!

We did this once, split stay, part club level and the Poly IPO offered to make all our ADRs, I am sure they won't mind, just let them know what your situation is.

I've already booked our trip staying at The Poly CL in Sept. Now I'm really going back and forth about which view. We already have Garden View.
I'm really starting to think about MK Lagoon View. I know they charge a little bit more for the castle view, but I'm wondering if I'll be bothered knowing that the castle is just across the hallway!
Does anyone have an opinion of which would be better--save a couple bucks or see the castle?

I got a courtesy upgrade last year to garden view CL, and the whole time I was wishing I had a lagoon view! I would walk down the hallway and some of the rooms would be open from mousekeeping and I would just gawk at the amazing view, and I vowed if I ever returned to the Poly that I would have to have theme park view. We did the 4/3 deal this past February and splurged on a TPV and it was unbelievable! I did not regret the extra money spent and I would take a regular room with a TPV over a GV CL room any day...so if you can afford both CL and TPV or LV, I say go for it! The view is spectacular. I set my camcorder out every day at different times of day and I have it up on my TV often (I'm actually watching the ferries and the castle changing colors right now as I type this!) There is nothing like watching the castle change colors, and listening to the sounds of the ferry and steam train horns, and watching the monorail go around the track...pure heaven on earth!

Wow, that is a big decision. If I checked the correct dates September 1-30the rate for a concierge garden view is $505.00 per night, to upgrade to Lagoon view is $630.00 per night. I have stayed at the Poly a few times in both Lagoon and garden view rooms and love, love, love it. However, I don't know that I would pay for a lagoon view with a price difference of $125.00 per night. But, that is just me. :) You will have a wonderful view of the castle, fireworks and the lagoon from the concierge lounge. If you plan on enjoying breakfast and snacks from the lounge you will love the view.

On our last trip I suprised my DH with our two daughters flying in and staying for a week. I made arrangments for just my DH and myself early in the year and reserved a concierge lagoon view room. About 4 months later the girls found out they could come with their husbands and children. I tryed to book concierge and they were full. I booked two rooms with a garden view non-concierge. When we arrived they had upgraded the family all to concierge and gave them garden view. They had their rooms connecting and directly across the hall from our room. WHAT a wonderful surprise this was for us all.

I have heard that many people book garden view in all the long-houses to save money. And many get upgrades every year to lagoon view. The bottom line is if you feel you will be missing out by not having a lagoon or Magic Kingdom view, they I would say go for it. If money is a consideration, perhaps you may want to wish for some extra pixie dust and an upgrade. Either way you will have a wonderful vacation no matter which room you end up with. KWIM :goodvibes Poly conciege is wonderful....at least that has been our experience. Let us now what you decide. pixiedust:

Theme Park View CL rack rate in Sept is $675. If $170/night is a "little bit more" for you then I would go ahead and book it.

I stayed in a PERFECT lagoon view room last August before they had the Theme Park View category. We were planning a trip with a lot of resort time so I really wanted the view. It was wonderful but I would have a hard time paying for TPV now. I have booked BWI CL for this summer.

We are going October 13-22 and decided to do the upgrade to the mk view. My daughter is 18 mths so we figured it would allow us to still see fireworks etc while she is going to bed early. we stayed there November 2008 and the view was great.

This is our first time staying CL but on our last trip we stayed at Poly in a standard MK View room. I originally booked a standard MK view for this trip but then upgraded to CL when they added the MK view category. Previously I had heard that some of the CL Lagoon View were obstructed by trees so you could not see MK. But this year they added a new category for the unobstructed rooms.

For me being able to wake up in the morning and see the Castle is so magical. On our last trip I would get up before everyone else and sit on the balcony with a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise and see the monorail make its first run to MK. On our last night we came back to the room and packed then sat on the balcony eating ice cream and watch the water parade and wishes. The best way to end a wonderful trip. Since then MK View is the only room I will pick.

I say if you can afford it go for it. You won't regret it.:wizard:
