Aulani - 3 bedroom Grand Villa - Correct view Category?

After touring the 3 bedroom Grand Villa the last two times we were at Aulani, we purchased another resale contract to book these for our every 2 year trips.

We are booked for this upcoming October and I am seeing some posts on facebook about the "OceanView" in rooms 201,301,401, and 501 not being real ocean view rooms anymore due to foliage growth.

Since not all the points have been declared at Aulani, do you think there is any chance they may recategorize some views as "Pool/Garden"?

While I don't need the highest floor, I would just be frustrated if we get placed in a room that has a very different view than the one they showcase to visitors.

Yes some could not have the best views of the ocean due to trees and still be considered ocean view.

Has DVC ever recategorized rooms this far into existence?

Do you think they would create this third view category?

Interesting question. I would think that overall they could recategorize some to a separate reservation category similar to what the did at OKW with "near hospitality house". In that case there was no point difference though. If they created a lower floor GV category at Aulani, I don't think there is any reason they couldn't re-allocate points as long as the whole remains the same.
