I understand that the resorts used to each have their own specific design. I know Disney won't go back to those designs but I'd love to see photos of the original mugs. We stayed at POR in 2005 and still have the purple and green mugs.

But - they have to get rid of the 500 million same, same, same that they already have!!!

I haven't been to Disney since '05.. so if they have it, I'll be buying one just so I can add it to my collections. Of course, I'll also get a new one for me and the kids.

So tonight I did some digging in our kitchen cabinets about found 4 of these mugs from the Poly buried in the back. You can tell they are the older "model" because they are shorter and fatter than the current mugs. No where on the mug does it say they can't be brought back for future visits or that they are only good for the duration of our stay so does this mean this particular mug can be used for future visits? Here are some photos:

we were just at ASMu the first week of April - the mugs were all the same but you could pick from many color tops...we have some black and some blue - but there were pink, yellow, etc.

I'm glad you liked them! I know we have ones even older with pink lids but I can't find them. Maybe one day I'll come across them! I'm hoping someone can answer my question as to whether or not the picture I posted is a mug that qualifies as a "lifetime" or "forever" mug. It's not a huge deal, we are on the meal plan for our next trip and will receive the mugs, just curious if I can ever use it at the Poly in the future

I have the exact same mugs from 1997. When I bought them, there were in a stack with a big sign over the stack stating they were only good for the duration of that trip at the Polynesian. They didn't have lifetime mugs at the Polynesian even if it doesn't state anything on the mug. Disney only started posting the policy on the side of the mugs in the 2000's.

I also have some from OKW, GF, Port Orleans (before it was renamed POFQ), Contemporary, YC/BC. None of them have any writing on them because the policy was posted on a sign above the mugs.

Has anyone visited recently and know exactly which drinks they are serving for refills in the contemporary as well as the cove bar. POFQ had fruit punch 3 years ago, but last year we stayed at the poly and the options were disappointing. My kids hated the diet lemonade. Obviously we know that they are coke products, but the exact options vary from resort to resort. We are hoping there will be one non carbonate/ non diet option for our DSs.

That's for sharing! Here's the weird part! So I found 4 of those Poly mugs, 2 of them have the printing that they are only good for the duration of your stay by the handle, the other 2 have no printing at all!

Probably during the transition to putting it on the mug. It was after they started putting it on the mugs that they did away with resort specific mugs. It must have been after 2005 when they did away with resort specific mugs because my CR trip was in 2005.

They did away with the resort specific mugs in February 2007. I was there over President's Day weekend and some of the resorts had switched to the Year of a Million Dreams mug and others had not. I picked up a CR mug that trip even though I wasn't staying there just so I could have it as a souvenir.
