What a joke these girls CLEARLY wanted to get a reaction, and seemed to get a big kick out of it when they did. Scared, really? And excellent points about the dad. He kept laughing and filming the whole time. Is anyone else half expecting Disney to announce they are retiring the character since all these crazy accusations are involving him? Such a shame if it would come to that!
I did get to watch the videos now and all I see from the family is laughter.
The father obviously tells the girls (both) to go ahead. Since he is ready to film and they are all behind the rabbit, it's clear they are misbehaving guests who were deliberately provoking the rabbit for their own malicious amusement, as the Disney spokesperson's statement said.
It looks like they got the reaction they were looking for and they probably would have continued to harrass the rabbit longer if he had not run after the girl.
The family says the rabbit had the girl around the neck, but you can see her smiling and laughing during that hole part of the video. And, the dad is not just laughing, but laughing like he is really enjoying the havoc they created during that whole part.
It does make me wonder if this family has other video of this same family harassing the rabbit or other characters.
Wow! Remind me never to make a mistake around you!
Fired would be too extreme in this case. Reprimanded? Sure. Reevaluate whether this person is in the best role? Absolutely.
CM was acting in self defense. If the person had not been in costume, and the girls had grabbed his rear end and he caught her hand to stop her, it would be a very different matter. It's unacceptable for a guest to touch a CM in an inappropriate way, regardless of whether or not they are dressed as the White Rabbit.
Agree with you. Good point about guests grabbing any CM.
And, a character's friend could easily be pushed or pulled into stumbling or falling by guests who are harassing them by grabbing or poking their backsides.
I think it shows the characters NEED handlers to watch out for them - or at least need meet and greet places that protect their backs.
From the dad's comments in the ABC news interview, you would think he had toddlers who accidentally touched the characters in an innocent way, not girls who are closer to adults than preschool who purposely grabbed the character to get a reaction.
