Character goes crazy after tail pull! Not good for Disney

These people are suing? They have little to no case at all. I wish the friend of the White Rabbit hadn't lost it on these nitwits. The father should be ashamed of himself acting like that.

The way I read it, the family isn't suing but another suit will be utilizing the video to make their case. Not sure how this will tie in with a racial suit, unless it is the same friend of the character.

If he actually cursed them, that is inappropriate and so is shoving them. However, it sounds to me like the family knew they were also in the wrong. "The Carlos family said they didn't report the incident at the time of their visit to the amusement park for fear they would be kicked out."

This.
More examples of rampant feelings of entitlement. "We can do whatever we want, but as soon as someone reacts to our behavior in a way we don't like, we're going to cry and run to the news/courtroom. Boo hoo. " Blegh. Makes me sick. Should the Rabbit have reacted that way? No. Does he have my full sympathy? Yep.

Ah poor Bunny,
If they were my grand-daughters they would have been removed from the park by myself after apologizing to the bunny.
I watched the video and it is not audible what he said to the girl, nor does it look like he harmed either of the girls in anyway, they appear smiling and laughing.
This situation smells like a set up by the father and daughters.

It does seem odd to me that the girls are laughing and smiling the whole time.

I know the video is from a local TV station, but just FYI - The Daily Mail is not a well-respected news source and is not much more than a tabloid. Many Brits refer to it as The Daily Fail :upsidedow

This. I'm always shocked at how many Daily Mail stories get shared with horror and outrage around the internet as though they are from a real news source!

Well it certainly smells, that's for sure. What kind of father encourages that kind of behanvior from their teens? And what kind of teens think that this is acceptable behaviour? rolleyes2

Poor Mr. Rabbit.

The Daily Mail is also the one that published the article about the larger lady who was humiliated at a park because she couldn't fit in the seat - they said it was Disney, but if you read the article it's pretty clear that she was at Universal. They are notorious for not proofreading their articles and getting even the most basic facts incorrect.

The teens were intentionally trying to provoke the character and why doesn't Disneyland have CM companions? The last 3 incidents could have been easily prevented if they had a CM there to help direct, or in this case, prevent issues with the guests. If I were Disney, I would ban the family.

Everyone has great points. But I also want to point out that this happened to this family in JUNE and they are just now coming out with it? Are you serious?

Oh please - the one girl in the video is 14 years old and her sister looks to be older. I just took my 14 year old granddaughter to Disney World and I'll tell you if she had done anything like that to a character (and she met quite a few), her parents would have hauled her butt back to the room and she would have remained there for at least the rest of the day. Heck, my five year old grandson behaved better than these two in the video.

But, the squeaky wheel gets the grease and now Disney will be poorer because of these two twits. Three twits because the father is one as well.

Agree completely. I have a 14 year old son and a 10 year old son. Neither one would even think of doing such a thing. No shock that these teens did, their own father was encouraging it. How sad.

My kids would've been jerked away by their ears so fast and escorted out of the parks, they wouldn't be laughing for a long time.

No, that's not true - my kids would never fathom of doing that in the first place because my husband and I taught them manners and proper behavior from the time they could walk!

Poor White Rabbit. First he's caught up in a racial accusation, now he's being accused of yet something else. He's not having a very good year.

I can't believe a grown adult was condoning attacking a character like that. I would have been very peeved after it too if I were the rabbit.

Am I missing something here? The girls are laughing! Do those who feel threatened usually laugh?

This nonsense is going to lead to no more characters outside if this keeps up. People are so ridiculous.

Sounds like Disney needs to add some more handlers for its characters so they stop getting harrased.

This is at DL, and unfortunately there many of the characters wander around on their own (unlike WDW).

I don't know, I can't tell from the video that he had her by the arm and neck - it just looks like he has his arm around her. I'm not convinced that the words were spoken by him, either. I don't feel any sympathy for that family.

Then again, it doesn't look to me like the rabbit shunned the kids in the family who are suing, either - in the photos shown in the news story, the kids are smiling and happy. I realize that the photos may not show the whole story though, and if the allegations are true, I think that's totally unacceptable. I just don't think the other family's video helps their case.

Stupid is as stupid does.

These girls were clearly harassing White Rabbit, giggling and laughing all the while. They KNEW what they were doing. Yes, the person inside of the costume should have refrained from what he/she said, but I don't feel that that person was in the wrong.

The father encouraged the behavior. The "children" were laughing. And now it's turned into this? I only hope the video goes to show that the character was provoked. If my daughter, at age 3, did what they did and received the same reaction I'd be a) appalled that she did that and b) appalled at the response, because let's face it: my DD is 3 and just because she knows better that doesn't mean she isn't going to get caught up in the excitement or form some crazy plan in that little head of hers. Of course I'd be upset if that language was used towards my child who was acting on a whim. In this case though, the "child" (otherwise known as: someone who very much knew what they were doing) and her father are 100% in the wrong.

I thought all characters had handlers?

Looks to me like DL certainly shouldn't have characters out there if they're not giving them handlers that can keep jerks in line.

I just hope kids don't see this story/video. It's unfortunate all these things are coming up. I'm not a parent myself but if kids start thinking that these characters are just "people in costumes" then Disney World isn't as special for them. Might even be scared.

No, not at DL. Many characters go around by themselves

The Carlos family said they didn't report the incident at the time of their visit to the amusement park for fear they would be kicked out.

shy, retiring family didn't want to make any fuss :scratchinme thinks the rabbit fell into their trap::yes::
