Single digits, Snow and the Super Flu

Ok, let's start with the good stuff....

We are now in the single digits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9 more days till Disney

It's hard to believe that it's almost here! Seems like one day, you're 60+ days away and the next, you're only 9 days away!!!

Ok, now for the bad stuffs

Apparently, everyone in Calgary woke up to snow on Saturday morning, or was it Sunday??? Sorry, my weekend is a little foggy as I spent the whole time in bed


First off....here is the snow...

It didn't stick around, at least not in the city but it was our first fall snow and it certainly won't be our last

I don't mind when it snows in the fall because it hardly ever sticks around. It's winter snow that I hate The stuff that sticks to the roads and causes 300 accidents during the morning rush hour.

So I am actually kind of sad that I missed it.

The reason I missed it was because I was too busy tossing my cookies

I guess I caught what Kira and Rob had a few days ago but I was hit HARD!! I don't know if it's because of my Lupus or I just got a nastier version but it was horrible!!!

I haven't been in that much pain since I was in labour...well the first 10 hours anyway (the last 10 were a whole different story )

I will spare you lovely folks the excruciating details, let's just say I couldn't get out of bed for 2 days.

My MIL came over Saturday morning to take care of Kira for me and my SIL and brother took Kira overnight until Sunday at lunch. Thank God for family, I don't know what I would have done without them!!!

When Kira left to see her aunt and uncle, it was snowing Rob so put on her brand new winter hat that I just bought her. Thankfully her aunt is a shutterbug like me and she took a pic and sent it to me

I didn't get to see this until Sunday night but it brought a smile to my face and made me feel a little better

So even though our trip is just around the corner now, I still feel a little foggy and a little sick still but I am trying to get better and get some excitement happening around here. All we've had is doom and gloom lately, so it's time for some of and a little bit of and a whole lotta

I just checked the extended forecast for Orlando....looks like we're in for a little bit of this....

Here is the forecast for the 9 days that we will be at the parks.

Mind you, I'm sure that will change several times before we go.


In all previous trips, we have prayed and hoped for rain and storms and in all our trips, it only ever rained 3 times and even then it was only for an hour or two each time.

Rob and I are both rain/storm people. I've always LVED rain, ever since I can remember. When it rains, I get all happy and excited. I love going for walks in the rain and I could sit and watch a storm all night long!

This is the one trip where I actually didn't hope and pray for some rain. Although I welcome any rain I can get (we don't get much rain here in Calgary) I wasn't looking forward to a rainy trip with a toddler. We will have fun regardless but it will make getting around the parks a little trickier.


So, looks like we will be packing some rain jackets and a rain cover for the stroller and hoping for the best.

The great thing about Florida rain is that it is WARM!!!! We never get warm rain here, even in the summer it is rather chilly. So I may be wearing a rain jacket but I will still be in shorts and sandals

Yeah, Ern is better now but he passed it along to me. It wasn't puking but the other end for my guy. My stomach is still a bit off today but I'm on the mend, as well.

That pic of Kira is one of the absolute cutest pics I've ever seen. She's like a little pink powder puff!!!

I hope you're feeling better now, too. Thank goodness you have family that helped you out like that.

I sure hope you get better soon, you are running out of days! But that is a great thing!
I think of it this way, if you are to get sick, it's better to have it and get it over with before the trip comes, than during it! Now you will have it all out of the way!

I'm sure they will have their share of ice cream together Thankfully my girl does not eat very many sweets. I give her a cookie as a treat and she only eats only half of it

Well, we are down to 2 more sleeps!!

Yesterday was our Thanksgiving and we spent the day cleaning up the house and getting some stuff ready. My nephew is staying at our house to take care of our pets while we are gone so I wanted to make sure the house was spotless for him and hopefully still somewhat clean when we get back


Rob took the stroller apart and washed it all so it's nice and clean for us to get it really dirty in Disney World Kira will be eating a lot of snacks and stuff in it on this trip so I'm sure it will be gross again by the time we get home

Once all the work was done, it was time to head over to my SIL's for Thanksgiving supper. She and my brother have a nice big house with long hallways and the girls love to run back and forth down them

My sister Deb bought matching outfit for our girls about a month ago and we've been meaning to get some pics of them together in them but it never worked out so we decided to dress them in their cute outfits and I got some cute pics of them.


Here's one of my faves...

It's hard to get two two-year olds to look at the camera and smile and not be goofy!

I think the girls we super hungry cus they both climbed into their chairs at the dinner table while supper was still cooking

All that running and playing really got to Kira and she was asleep in less than 5 minutes after she went to bed last night!!


And then I woke up to this, this morning!!

I am soooo not ready for snow!!! It's snowed already this month but it never stuck around before like this


I'm glad we are going to Florida soon! I already miss wearing shorts and sandals

Yup, we're all better. Kira has a runny nose this morning but so far she seems ok. Apparently our weather takes a lovely turn to warm weather on the day we leave
