General Star Wars Discussion

Nonsense. Both communism and fascism are authoritarian systems that put the needs of the state over the individual’s rights. They are both left wing.

"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less."

Anyway, I really love the character design for Jecki Lon in The Acolyte. Looking forward to having Dafne Keen join the Star Wars universe because she was great in Logan.

I do like them, always have a weakness for the horned folks. Also I am excited to learn more about Vernestra Rwoh and see the light whip in action. I am not familiar with the High Republic material so this is a new world of characters for me.

So, how is everyone feeling about the Star Wars: Outlaws trailer? I didn't realize it was out this year.

The trailer does look good from a story perspective, but I have concerns about it being one of these games with seasons and lots of walled content. Ubisoft has had a bad track record with that. Also, it won't be on Steam, which is kind of a bummer for me. A friend will probably get it on PS5, so maybe I'll just check out it out there.

I haven't played any of the games, but my husband is very excited about Outlaws. He can't wait. Hope it'll be good.
I keep meaning to watch a run through of Jedi Survivor, so I'll know what all happens with Cal Kestis, and the rest. I'd love it if my son would play the game. He's not done any SW games yet, but he might try.

Very excited for this. Taking DD16 to see Phantom Menace later today. I'm no fan of the prequels but there's nothing like watching the Wars in a theater.

Phantom Menace on the big screen was fun. The clip of the Acolyte played after the credits. It looks really good. Crouching Jedi, Hidden Sith. There's really nothing better than hearing the 20th Century Fox fanfare before a Star Wars film. Disney Star Wars films were always missing that.

I topk my oldest to see it yesterday. You are right, the 20th Century Fox fanfare just fits so well at the beginning and is missed with the newer stuff. Seeing Duel of the Fates again on the big screen was great

It's funny, I know that Fox was using that fanfare for a long time before SW came out, but I always associate it with those movies and expect to hear John Williams' cymbals and horns right after it no matter which Fox movie I'm watching!

Completely agree! I began to associate the Fox fanfare with Star Wars.

The thing is, it is now the Twentieth Centruy Studios Fanfare. Disney owns it and could use it if they wanted to.

That’s tells you how far Star Wars has fallen under Disney’s leadership.

It's sad that you can't even enjoy May the Fourth without posting an anti-Disney screed.

There are plenty of current Disney fans on this thread and others on DISboards. It's ridiculous to attribute the lack of a robust "May the Fourth Be with You" discussion yesterday to some perceived disappointment with Disney.

Make good Star Wars again in the same vein as the Star Wars creator did and all is well. As long as they make garbage, I will complain.

No one wants bad Star Wars, except maybe Disney and Kathleen Kennedy it seems.

Yeah, I mean this is not one of the most super-active threads on the DIS, unfortunately. I don't post a lot on Saturdays as I tend to be busy. I wore a Star Wars shirt and was complimented on it, and told "May the Fourth be with you" a few times in real life while I was out and about. One guy was super-excited to have seen Episode I in theaters for the first time (I wore a shirt with the N-1 Starfighter on it that I bought in 1999!). Fans are out there!

I find it pretty interesting the one person that was actually excited happened to be talking about the episode 1 and something not made by Disney. Do you?

Do you still deny Star Wars popularity has fallen significantly under Disney’s watch?

PS - I wore a Vader shirt and got some comments as well. I agree the fans are still out there.
