disneygal - What kind of wedding are you having? Ours is a very simple Escape wedding. I don't have a planning journal because I am avoiding wedding planning like the plague :lmao: Kathleen (planner) takes care of most of it. It was one of the reasons we decided to go Disney :thumbsup2

Paint - we will also be going for Harry Potter...but that's it! We have a lot of the same ADRs. This is our first time at a lot of the places we have ressies. You must be bouncing-off-the-walls excited! Packed yet?

Slo - we will definitely have pictures. Also, Raglan Road is probably the menu I am most looking forward to. I saw some pictures last night, and the presentation is surprisingly nice!

Stopping by for a hello to everyone. It was nice seeing those who were able to make it to the meet Sunday, missed those who were not able to. And it is always nice seeing new faces. :thumbsup2 Thanks, Nicole, for organizing.

Hope everyone has a good week. :cool2:

Morning guys! Summer boredom is beginning to set in here I think, the kids are needing things to do...hmmmm the socks could be matched, baseboards wiped down, closets cleaned....:rotfl:

It was nice to meet everyone at the meet and put faces with names. Wish I could have mingled more and stayed longer but DS7 has attention issues along with his autism so he was not cooperating ;) .

Bunchkin - thanks for organizing the meet!
*I agree on the underlying message in Wall.e, I could have done without but I liked the movie still.

Leigh - we went into that candy store last time we were at the mall, it was great!! Funny story about those candy cigs, a few years ago one of my student's parents was telling me that she had to have a talk with another parent because their child had brought candy cigs when she came on a sleep over. She was not happy, I just kind of laughed remembering them from my childhood.
*My kids have gotten Fun Dip at 7Eleven and the like so you might check there before heading out to Yorktown again.

paint - oh your trip is getting really close now! I can understand the too excited to sleep feeling, I always feel that way before our trips.
*I agree with Bunchkin on Ohana breakfast and CP for any meal. We all love Ohana's breakfast, yummm. We've eaten b, l and d from CP and liked them all, we like to have an early seating though so the buffet is less crowded.

slo - glad to hear the news on your employee. Hopefully she'll be around often for you.
*We did Boma for breakfast on our anniversary trip but we were in a HUGE hurry to get to MK for our KTTK tour so I don't really remember. We also did dinner on our last trip, I loved it but it wasn't a big hit with DH and kids - they're not very adventuresome  . Although I think DH could have made a dinner out of the zebra domes

Ugh, I'd best get going. Kids have finally rolled out of bed and are looking for breakfast. Boy is back to school going to be a rude awakening, they are definitely used to sleeping until 8-8:30!

Have a great day everyone! :flower3:

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: I need to go to Barnes and Noble tonight to get a new book. I'll probably finish my current one on the train this afternoon and don't have any other new books to read. I was thinking about re-reading the harry potter series but they are such a pain in the rear end to carry on the train! I need to get a bag to carry things in but I just don't like carrying a lot of things downtown... ever since my one purse broke right as I was crossing Monroe:scared1: and I had my lunch and my bag with my book and shoes, etc. and I was trying to get my purse to the sidewalk at least someone helped me get out of the street... since then I only carry my purse and my lunch (which most of the time I throw in my purse).

Ama ~ we are have a Wishes! I would prefer the escape but just our immediate families alone would put us near 20 people so wishes it was. we decided to invite around 60 but think only 30ish will show up. We are having an at home reception here when we get back so the extended families don't get angry with us. Oh and we went to Raglan Road on our last trip in April and the food was DELICIOUS! I highly reccommend it!

Slo ~ Glad to hear your employee will be working saturdays and whenever else she is available! Sorry about the back. here's some pd :wizard: in hopes it gets better super soon!

Bunchkin ~

"Is that in any way like a serial killer but with bowls involved??? Death by carmel dip???? YIKES!!!!"

You crack me up!:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

Everyone else ~ :wave2: have a wonderful day!

Dgal- Read the Twilight series yet? I did and liked them, but I am not crazy for them like some people are. They were worth the read just no HP, IMHO.
Ama- Nah. Not packed. I am accumulating a pile in the corner of my bedroom! My big pack day will be Thursday, since I work Fri. and all day Sat. How about you? You must be excited and nervous- wedding and honeymoon?!? At least I am already married...got that out of the way! Will you be sporting a LGMH?
ID- Dh is not a very adventurous eater either, but most places I've chosen are pretty tame. He can branch out for this one. Besides, I know we will both love the zebra domes. Never had them, but what is not to love?
sk8- Remember that gum in a toothpaste tube? That was so yummy. I'd just swallow that- even worse than Big League chew!
Slo-I will probably hit Captain Cook's, as we already have a TS each day. So much good stuff to eat, so little time! I will happily report back to you! Are you having one bday party for both girls? My mom used to do that for one of my sister's and me, as we both have July bdays.

Well, I thought about changing O'Hana Bfast to Chef Mickey's but they were booked. Probably better, because then I was going to change around some other adrs...probably would have made a big ol' mess. I think they look good as is. Unless...what to you think...WC to Raglan Road?
Errand running this morning and work tonight. Other than that, just counting the minutes down...

pirate:

I think you can still find Fun Dip at Jewel, if you don't want to go back to Yorktown. We get them as special treats for the kids when they are on sale for $1.

Ooh, thanks, I'll have to check that out. :thumbsup2

Sounds like a lot of fun was had yesterday. I really wish I could have made it.

Hopefully we'll have another one soon that you can make it to. :goodvibes

Love the 'Hello Dolly' parts, as I like that movie, it made me go and check it out from the library! I want the kids to see it.

Ah, so that's what that movie was! :rotfl: Obviously I haven't seen it. I saw someone who looked like Roger Daltrey, but now I see it must have been Michael Crawford. :lmao:

Leigh - I would really like to walk around that mall someday, it looks really nice!!!!:)

It's ok, but Oak Brook is better. :yay: Although not so much in the winter, since it's outdoors. :cold:

Leigh - we went into that candy store last time we were at the mall, it was great!! Funny story about those candy cigs, a few years ago one of my student's parents was telling me that she had to have a talk with another parent because their child had brought candy cigs when she came on a sleep over. She was not happy, I just kind of laughed remembering them from my childhood.

Good Lord. :sad2: I ate them and pretended I was "smoking", and I've never smoked a real cigarette in my life. There is no correlation. People are so stupid nowadays.

*My kids have gotten Fun Dip at 7Eleven and the like so you might check there before heading out to Yorktown again.

Thanks for the tip as well. :thumbsup2

ID, I have a funny story about your daughter. I saw her downstairs at the Disney Store, and she gasped, and said, "How did you get here??" I said that I walked there like she did. And then she said that I was at the movie, and then upstairs and now I was in the store. She said, "You're everywhere!" :rotfl: :rotfl: So I promised her than when she got home, I wouldn't be at her house. And her cousin said, "That's good, because that would be freaky!" :lmao: They were so funny. :rotfl2:

sk8- Remember that gum in a toothpaste tube? That was so yummy. I'd just swallow that- even worse than Big League chew!

I kind of remember it, but I don't think I ever had it. :confused3 I guess I wasn't that experimental with my candy. I know I used to love Grape Hubba Bubba (I think it was Hubba Bubba  ). I would have two pieces at a time.

Hi Everyone! I have only posted a few times here, but I didn't know where else to post this question.

How does everyone get such great signatures? Is there a good thread that has links to codes or anything??

Hi peeps!!!

DD and I are thinking about going to the American Girl store to see one of the last theatre performances before they move over to the Water Tower Place in Sept/Oct.
Anyone else going to see a performance too, before they're all gone....forever??!!! :sad2:
I need to call and check to see what dates they have available...if any!!

slo Do you have a dog pen to put Sophie in so you can get some work done?
We should work out a date where Stephanie can come over and spend the night so she and Lauren can play. :)
We Looooooved Concourse too! Why do they always get rid of the good ones?? :confused3

disneygal That stinks about dropping your bag in the street. However, it does sound like something I would do!!
I'm glad I make you crack up!! ;)

paintWe like early seatings too, at any buffet! :thumbsup2
Hope you're able to make lots of money before you leave!

Dan Good to see you stop by! Do you have a recent pics of your grandson you could share with us? I know a few of us were asking about him the other day! ::yes::

So there are some book readers here I've been noticing! Cool!!
I started reading a series of mystery novels that are based in the south. They are by the author Patricia Sprinkle (love that last name!!). Very well written.

:surfweb:

Today is going to be a hot day everyone!!!! :sunny:
I"m so excited, so I can plop my butt on a float, in the pool, and soak up some sun :sunny:

I have some things to do first.....
I need to go walk, go into work for a very short bit, make a frame delivery, do a couple of other errands, and then we'll have some pool time. The girls aren't to happy about the frame delivery, but they'll get over it.

ama - It's so exciting that your wedding is so close:yay: Have you started packing yet?

Dan - Hi there!! :wave2: It was good to see you too:goodvibes I'll send some PD for your knees to feel better :wizard: I know how uncomfortable bad knees are, because I suffer from them myself. Both my knees are out of alignment, so they hurt when I go up and down stairs, and make alot of noise (like I'm stepping on Rice Krispie treats). Knee Replacements are in my far distant future someday.

ID - My kids aren't real adventursome either, so that's why I'm a little nervous about us going to Bomas too ::yes::

DG - Thanks for PD :goodvibes

paint - We are doing one party for both girls ::yes:: This is our first year doing it this way, because we've had so much going on this summer, on the weekends, that I just didn't want to do 2 parties. The girls were originally NOT happy about it, but when they understood that it was either this, or nothing (and they know if they say nothing, that I will do it that way) they accepted it. Their theme is Hannah Montana, and they are really excited about their party!!!!:yay:

Leigh - My friends and I always pretended like we were smoking too, with those candy cigs ::yes:: I gotta say though, my friends and I all ended up smoking when we were younger, but it wasn't because of those candy cigs :sad2: Those candies were the last thing I was thinking about when I smoked. The main thing I was thinking about was how I wanted to make sure my mom didn't find out:rotfl:

CoP - I used to like my signature more, but when the Mods shortened the height, alot of my good stuff couldn't be added :guilty: It actually took me a long time to develop the signature I have now, and it was just cut and paste.

Bunchkin - At home, Sophie has a small kennel where I can close the door, and connected to that is an expanded pen, so she can get out and stretch her legs and play when the kennel door is open. She never has the run of the house, unless she has my 100% attention. At work, she has another small pen, that she's in 100% of the time, except when I take her outside to go potty. She loves it, because she's able to catch up on her sleep without the girls wanting to play with her all the time. When I"m not as busy, I will let her stretch her legs in the front of the store, where she can't injured by any broken glass.
**Having a sleepover someday would be great!!! :)
**I'm still not happy about Concourse closing:mad: We loved for breakfast and dinner. It had that open air atmosphere, which I love, and the menu was great!!!! I just don't understand why they would get rid of it!!!!:sad1:

Well, I gotta go take my walk, and then water my flowers
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Morning all. I love the new Creative Memories software!!! I have been playing with pictures and placing them into the book software and it has really been fun just looking at all the old Disney pictures I have taken over the last 4 years. I am finding that scanning in the old pictures doesn't work as well, however.:sad2: I will need to do a lot of cropping and use the older pictures as smaller ones in the book.
Slo, don't worry about the kids and BOMA. Mine are not adventurous for new foods either. There are plenty of "normal" options for them to pick from (or there were when we tried it last time in 2006). Chicken strips and mac and cheese. I loved the rice with carrots and shaved coconut in it. It was very sweet rice.
We only have a couple TS ressies this trip. I sure hope I didn't goof by not making more. Now that free dining is in the mix, I may not get a table anywhere at anytime.:rotfl:
We are off to see Kung Fu Panda this morning using the Marcus Theater kids summer flix. $2.50 for a ticket and popcorn. Can't beat that with a stick.
Well, just wanted to say a quick hello. Need to get a shower and get moving. Have a nice day all.

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: just a quick stop by!

Tiggern ~ have fun at the movie!

Slo ~ enjoy the pool!

Paint ~ sorry this is a late response to your question but no, i haven't really looked at invites yet b/c we are still so far out and haven't "officially" set the date yet with disney!

everyone else ~ :wave2: have a good day!

Hi all! We're back from our trip to your area and we had an absolutely fabulous time. We didn't see a lot of the tourist sites as we were there to visit people, but what we saw was a lot of fun. Chicago is our new favorite city.

We did go to the Botanical Gardens in Glencoe, the Lincoln Park Zoo, the American Girl store, and we ate at Athena's in Greek Town (oh, and the sale at Nordstroms...fun for me). We also ate at Tsukasa out somewhere in the suburbs. The rest of our time was spent at the different homes of our family.

The most special part of the trip was meeting some truly lovely people. They're actually my half-siblings and their families. My father had been married before my mom and had three children that he abandoned when they were still children. I vaguely knew about them and really wanted to meet them, but could never get any information. I was able to find them this year and began corresponding with them. This trip was the first time we met.

Thanks for all the info and letting me eavesdrop on your thread.

:surfweb:

Things are becoming so crazy busy around here!!!!
Between the store doing great (I thank God everyday!!!!), summer activities (responsibilities and fun), and now getting ready for the girls party Sunday, I'm starting to feel a little like this :hyper: :faint:  :headache:  all at the same time!!!! I'm not complaining though, because if I had nothing to do, than I WOULD be complaining about that ;)

Tigggernnnnnnn - Isn't it fun looking at old pictures. I have so many photos that need to go in photo albums (Katie's pictures when she was born, and more), that I need to do that at work this winter when I'm not busy. Have fun with your new software!!!
**How was the movie?
**Thanks for the info on Bomas:)

DG - We ended up not having much pool time, because I had to go back to work for awhile, and then my brother came over to my house, and then it rained, and finally at 4:30pm is when we made it outside. So we weren't out for to long, because then it was time for supper:rolleyes:

twins - I'm so glad you had a good time on your trip, and that you enjoyed our awesome city!!!!!:cool1: That is truly great about meeting your family, and starting to get to know them:goodvibes This will be the start of a lifelong relationship for all of you:goodvibes
**You don't need to thank us - you are always welcome here!!!:goodvibes
We are always happy to help, when someone needs advice on something:goodvibes

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work - I want to get in a little early today
Have a good day everyone!!!!

Good Morning everyone

First I wanted to say it was really great seeing you all on Sunday. We really enjoyed seeing Wall.e again and I love being around people who are just as crazy as I am about Disney.

On a somewhat sad note I had a car accident this week. We are ok but I am bruised quite a bit. The only problem with my car is the air bags are out so I cannot drive my car until I can get it fixed.

I go back to work on Friday. I am hoping I am better by then.

Anyone else attending the Doorway to Dreams event this weekend? I will be there Saturday at 4.

I will try to get back on a bit later. Have a great day!

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: my alarm didn't go off (or perhaps i shut it off in my sleep:confused3 ) so i had to take a later train, no biggie i still would have plenty of time to get to work! but then i get all the way to the train station and realize i forgot to take my medicine so i turned around, drove all the way back home, got back to the train station right as my train was pulling away:sad2: so i ended up on the LAST express to downtown! thankfully, i still made it here on time! :goodvibes

Slo ~ sorry you didn't have much pool time! i was going to go swimming last night but realized i need to vacuum the pool so that's on my agenda for tonight or tomorrow night so it is nice and clean for the weekend:thumbsup2

Disneynut ~ what is "Doorway to Dreams"?

oh yeah, i called a bridal boutique to see if they carry this gorgeous dress i saw online. the lady said they carry the designer but would call me when she has a chance to look for the specific dress. i already know i'm not purchasing from this particular boutique b/c my sister had a TON of problems with them when she got married and my other sister has been in 2 other weddings with dresses from there and all have been terrible experiences. one of my sister best friend's is getting married in september and ordered her dress from this place over a year ago. they called her the other day to say they are running behind and her dress should be ready only a couple of days before the wedding!!!! so i'm just going to go try it on if they have it to see if i like it. if i do like it i might try to find a different place that can order for me who has better customer service!

anywho, have a good day everyone! :wave2:

Disneygal ~ I would not order from them either! I hope they do have the dress for you to look at though. Have you seen "say yes to the dress" on TLC? It is quite interesting, and maybe it could give you some more ideas.

Well, it looks like I may have a second job. (or is that third, if I count Tastefully Simple too) As long as I pass the background check ;) I'll be working at Hanna Andersson in Oak Brook. I am so excited, as I have been wanting to work here for years, just never got the nerve to apply since it is a 45 minute drive. I'll stay on at Yankee if only for the discount :)

For the Doorway to Dreams thing, there's another address to go to to sign up if you're not a member, but I'm not sure what it is.

Disneynut71 - Sorry about your car accident! Glad you're ok!

Slow day here today.

I want to get your opinions. I need to get some new checks. Right now I have Disney checks, and I'd like a change this time. I was thinking of getting Gone with the Wind checks, because I love that movie. The only thing is that one of the checks is of Scarlett and Mammy (a slave, if you haven't seen the movie). The actress is Hattie McDaniel, and she won an Oscar for the role. I'm just afraid that someone might take offense to her being a slave, and rip up a check that I sent in somewhere for a payment, and I would have some bill that wouldn't get paid! Do you think something like that could happen, or do you think I'm over-thinking my checks. :rolleyes1
