Pardon my ignorance, but I don't fly very often and was uncertain as to whether we could bring boxed snacks such as granola bars, poptarts, etc. onto the plane with us in our carry-on baggage? We plan to take a few items for eating at the resort in the morning, and I didn't really want to risk them being squashed and/or melting in my regular suitcase so I thought I'd stuff them in my carry-on. I searched, but haven't really been able to find a definitive answer. :confused3 Thank you for the help!

:thumbsup2

I had been wondering the same thing as it's been 2 years since i've flown, and I think they've gotten funnier about stuff now then they were then

I'd like to buy a sandwich at Earl of Sandwich on my last day at WDW and perhaps eat it on the plane ride home... or alternatively, can I eat it at the airport while waiting for my plane? Does anyone know if I can get a Sandwich on my carryon or in my purse through security??

I'll have only one day at DD and there are so many good places/things to eat there - I definitely want a sandwich from there!!!

I usually fly ~ 4 times a year and routinely bring fruit, bars and candy...... just in case I get the munches. I've also brought a sandwich, cold pizza, corn bread in my carry on. Just can't bring liquids through security, but I fill up my water bottle before getting on the plane.

I like the way you think. Just beware of the security screeners taking a safety bite.

You can take anything that isn't a liquid or a gel So no yogurt or jello. Sandwiches are fine but put the condiments on ahead of time can't carry the packets. same with bagels and cream cheese can have it on the bagel but can't carry it separate. Also peanut butter, jelly-ok on not ok in a container

On my last return from Disney I used my last meal credit as I left Pop and brought a sandwich and a big piece of Chocolate cake. The security guy was teasing me that choc. cake wasn't allowed or at least without HIM at least sampling half of it to make sure it was safe. he was so funny.
But it was so nice to settle onto the plane and have 1 last bit or bite lol of Disney.

You CAN bring seperate condiment packs as long as they are in containers smaller than 3.4 oz and you place them in your 3-1-1 bag. You just can't bring a big jar of PB, tub of CC, etc and expect to assemble sandwiches on the plane.

DH and I picked up EoS sandwiches on our way to the airport last May. We ate them while we waited for our plane.(They were still warm.) It was not an issue getting thru security. We bought sodas at one of the restaurants in the terminal. I only ate half of mine in MCO, the rest I had while we waited for our connection in LaGuardia. I'm sure it was not a great food safety decision but it still tasted good and I did NOT get sick.

I have done it both with and without a cooler, and will do with a cooler and in checked luggage next time, It hasn't killed me yet :teeth:
