Black Friday 2012?

The only thing I have seen is there was an article posted that Target is not going to have great deals this year. I didn't have a chance to read whole article. I am getting excited though and can't wait until ads start leaking out. I love BF shopping.

We'll be at the Magic Kingdom on Black Friday. I wonder if there will be any deals at the park? :rotfl:

I haven't heard anything yet but I am actively watching/listening!

My husband wants to get a 40"-43" plasma tv for our bedroom. If prices are amazing for a quality tv we may get one but I told him not to get his hopes up! Other than that, we're not really in the market for any Black Friday deals because our holiday shopping for family is already done...though I LOVE looking at everything!

because the way I read it Target is going to have the typical Black Friday sale just not as big as it has been in the past. I know last year they tried competing with Walmart and staying open till midnight...it was a DISASTER at our Target, the store was empty by about 6 pm and corporate sent out a mass email to start sending team members home to minimize the payroll expenditure since they were not making the sales they thought they would...My husband works for Target as a Team Leader and he said in a meeting they were told they would start discussing Black Friday strategy next month.

I can't wait! I love going out on Black Friday!! :woohoo:

lol i was thinking about it today too it will be closer to end of October before most are released.

For the past few years Target has not impressed me in the least...but then again I have not been in the market for TVs, point n shoot cameras, etc.

It'll be closer to mid October until you start to hear about deals and the beginning of November until you start to see the ads for the bigger stores.

I think this is the first year I don't care about black friday. I used to love running around bright and early getting deals but the last few years have just been blah. There are too many people and I can often get the same deal or better either before or after black friday.

Plus we're doing a smaller Christmas this year as we're moving next June, and my son is at the age where he just doesn't need/want a lot, so I think maybe that's playing into it as well.

I think it'll be the first year I just grab a few things online and don't go out at all.

I told DH to take that day off from work and he came back home with the news he may not get it off this year because a lot of other people already requested it. Sick day! Altho most of the sales are so early, like on Thanksgiving, that maybe he could still work that day and be very tired.

The midnight sales last year ruined it for me. I'm not opposed to getting up at 4am once a year, but going out at midnight and still trying to catch early morning openings was terrible. Not fun at all.

Love BF! DH and I pulled an all nighter last year and had a blast together! One of my coworkers sisters works at JcP and she said its business as usual for them this year and they will have no BF deals or special opening times this year.

Really? Nothing? Is the new CEO on crack?

Ahhh, sigh. Black Friday. The ONE day of the year that I do NOT shop. I'll take 364 days of deals and let the rest of the country have that one day. :rotfl2:

I read somewhere that the new CEO has changed his mind and there will now be a "sales event" on Black Friday.

So We are either driving down to Disney for our trip on Thanksgiving night or Black Friday morning. (24 hour drive):crazy2:

I am wondering if the disney outlet store has black Friday deals and also if the disney parks will have deals as well :lmao: (i know, wishful thinking).

I will be making a list for my sisters to grab my black friday items since we will be on the road. We love going out at midnight!

I can't believe he actually thought it was a good idea in the first place.
