Beer at Magic Kingdom

According to Merriam-Webster
Tavern:
1: an establishment where alcoholic beverages are sold to be drunk on the premises
2: inn

So I guess you could argue that an Inn could be dry, no?

Gaston will also have a "tavern" when the Beauty & the Beast section of the new Fantasyland is opened.

OK, but if Dumbo is leaving that area, where is it going to end up?

Robo didn't create that map, it was "borrowed" from wdwmagic.com. BTW, the Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty meet and greets are not going to happen.

I have no problem with no alcohol being sold at MK.
it's true, there are places within walking distance you can get a drink.
that being said, (yes, I know there are dissers who don't like that phrase.. oh well).. just because some people would like to enjoy a drink , and make their preference known does NOT mean they need it, or can't have fun without it.

I just wanted to defend those who wished it was served. it doesn't make them alcoholics. they are entitled to their opinion.

I really don't think it will be,though. just playing "devil's advocate" here (pun intended):)

Considering the map still has "wdwmagic.com" in the corner, I'd like to think that it was obvious where the picture came from.

Of course on wdwmagic.com it isn't nicely labeled - that was entirely Robo (of course it's partially wrong now due to them scrapping Cindy & Aurora and putting in the Dwarves roller coaster instead, but it's still mostly right).

I love drink, but have never had one at the world. Partly cause I'm a bit too cheap. I just don't see why someone having a beer in MK would ruin the place for others. The vast majority of people who partake of drink at the parks never reach drunkenness. So I don't get the uproar about the possibility of serving in MK.

Robo might not have created the maps, but he does provide them for us whenever we ask. My question is...what is the source of the Cindy and Sleepy meet being dropped.

Dumob will be double the size and housed under those circus tents along with new in-queue interactive games.

I guess it makes sense but I will miss seeing it out in the open. I've been going there regularly since 1983 and would you believe I have never been on Dumbo. Still don't have any desire to do so.

That's not correct, as far as I know.

The plans for the Dumbo QUEUE ("NextGen Queue") call for it to be housed under a tent,
but as for the RIDES themselves (there will be two separate Dumbo rides, that's how they are increasing the ride capacity,) they will be out in the open, as the one is now.

So tired of hearing people imply that those who would like to have a drink in the MK must be an alcoholic or a kid-hating adult who needs to get drunk in order to enjoy WDW.

It is possible to have a drink and not get drunk or obnoxious.

I agree...I can't stand that "if you want a drink you must be a drunk" opinion.

pkondz: The first definition is the one that I--and probably most others--would use.
But evidently not WDW!!!

The one problem with a "dry" MK is that none of the restaurants are any good.

But fortunately it dosen't matter much as several good restaurants are but a short monorail trip away.

Great picture!

So each princess will have a separate line? I guess that means my picture from 2 years ago with my girls and all 3 princess together is something that I won't ever repeat.

I don't have a problem with people liking beer or a shot or two, but it just seems excessive to me. Not in the sense that you think it is more of the idea of the energy expanded to have one that is hard for me to wrap my head around.

I won't carry water into the parks because the idea of dragging around those bottles to save $1.50 or 2.00 or whatever just isn't worth it to me. If it meant that I didn't have to carry around the excess baggage I could surely do without it for a day. Actually, a part of the day because I am not going to be there for 24 hours, so it is just a few hours.

I love Pepsi, but I am not so into it that I would carry some in just so I didn't have to have Coke.

I also think it is more of the principle...children and alcohol don't mix. Buzzed adults and children do not mix. Even if you think that you can hold your alcohol the chances are pretty good that your personality changes when it is introduced. To paraphrase Walt Disney...I just feel that there should be one place where children and parents can go and not have alcohol influence the outcome of the day.
