Beer at Magic Kingdom

Of course, there are ways to have drinks in mk, but it requires bending (breaking) the rules a bit. Not that I would ever do such a thing... just sayin'.

I like that picture showing where things will be in the expansion. The only thing is that the Little Mermaid ride area seems kind of small. I wonder about that.

I don't think that's going to change anytime soon--it was one of Walt Disney's edicts: No alcohol in Magic Kingdom.

Way to go Walt :thumbsup2. MK is a "Family" park, that's why there will never be alcohol sold there. It is the only "dry" port in the entire World and we hope it always stays that way.:yay:

Amen! And if you can't make it through one day without it, you've got a problem, anyway. :thumbsup2

Epcot has lost some of its shine for me due to so many drunks walking around. Not a pleasant atmosphere some of the time.

Thank God they don't serve alcohol there. It makes me sick that people can't go anywhere without drinking or thinking about alcohol.

Here here - I hope that Walt's wishes prevail for ever and no alcohol is ever served in the MK. People who cannot go one day without it (or who need to smuggle it in) should question whether they have a problem. I really hope that they are caught by CMs and asked to stop drinking alcoho or leave the park!!

I like my beer but that was the first thing that came to mind.

And I like MK dry.

Only time I really saw drunks was one year at food and wine fest later at night. We go to F&W almost every year.
It's not that frequent. I guess if you look for it, you will see more but. I am there for us, not to people watch.

One of the things that impressed me about Busch Gardens is that even though it's sponsored by a beer company, there were only a few, off-the-beaten-path places to get beer. I'm glad MK is dry.

I go probably every 6 months and spend a lot of time in Epcot and not once have I ever seen a drunk walking around. It's way too expensive to get drunk there!

Good grief, all that space just for character greetings, what are they thinking. Although they did rethink the fairy condos and the coloring with a princess thing.

MK's going to stay dry, as will Disneyland. Although I have been to private after hours parties at MK where beer and wine was included, and Club 33 at Disneyland is not a dry area (if you can get in)

Disneyland Paris started off dry, but that didn't work out in France.

Maybe Gaston's Tavern could serve butterbeer.

to me the only downside to MK is they do not serve alcohol... the funny thing is i dont even drink. they need to get with thte times and start serving it.

Why?

I like a drink but don't need a drink to enjoy myself and can't see why a theme park with rides would need alcohol with the propensity for it to induce sickness.

That link says they have scrapped at least some of the fairy/princess meet/greets for a 7 Dwarves mine coaster! sounds good.

They don't need to serve booze at MK. The Wave is within walking distance and their bar is open at lunch!

I guess for all those people who hate the "What would Walt do?" phrase and jump on others for using it - this is a perfect example of the fact that in some instances Walt's decisions are STILL carried out in spite of how much the world has changed. This particular decision would be so easy for the powers that be to justify changing to appeal to a wider group of people - especially in view of the fact that they chose to allow drinking in all the other parks except MK and make a decent buck off of it.

Gaston will also have a "tavern" when the Beauty & the Beast section of the new Fantasyland is opened.

Its Disney's way of teaching children about taverns before they come of age. ;)

Exactly! This is a family vacation after all.
Makes me sick that alcohol is served every where else in the "World".
Why the heck should adults behave like adults?
