With all due respect, when people say "if you can't make it through the day without a drink, you have a problem" in answer to people CLEARLY saying they'd just like a glass of wine or a beer with dinner, YES THEY ARE suggesting that's the case. Just because they didn't phrase it exactly that way doesn't mean that's not what they're saying.
Anyone who wants to back down from that now, fine.

Since I don't drink wine or beer with dinner - EVER, rarely drink at all, and personally have no problem with the MK being dry, the only reason I joined this conversation was BECAUSE I read people jumping (unfairly) all over people who did want that glass of wine or pint of beer as if they were raging alcoholics. It was just so massively unfair, I had to respond.
And if you don't want this conversation to "escalate", reframing things that were said to fit your purpose doesn't help.
