I have a question, I've been reading the cruising for first timers stuff on wdwinfo site and I read the room service menu here http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/cr-dining.htm#service. Then I read that the candy at the theatre is extra charge. If I order it at room service before going to the theatre is it then free? I'm confused lol

Next, we'd like to participate in the FE - it sounds super fun - I just need to know is it just for the kids in the family, 1 FE for the whole family or, 1 FE for EVERY person in the family? And once once on board when does it begin? I am also wondering if anyone can tell me if you can book a subsequent cruise while on board for a discounted rate? I know when I've cruised on other cruise lines before they offered a nice discount if you booked your next cruise before getting off the ship. Any help is appreciated. Only 204 days left (sorry I am way too excited !)

Hello and welcome! I have only been on one DCL cruise, so I am not really a FE expert, but it seems on my last cruise people would either do something small (candy?) for everyone in the stateroom or if they had something more expensive or labor intensive (homemade crafts), they'd do one per cabin. The rules weren't set in stone, which was nice since it offered a lot of flexibility for the gifts. Often people would give different things for the kids than the adults. Does anyone else have any experience with this?

So I have heard through the FB page for our cruise that the concierge levels are "gated" therefore "off limits" to guests not staying in those rooms - making it not possible for people doing FE to get in - does anyone know anything about this?

Hi fellow August cruisers!
We had no trouble getting to concierge level rooms to drop off FE items last year.
Pinterest has about 800 posts for FE ideas (imagine that)!
Last time, we got generic candy, door magnets, personalized items - my husband got a personalized Jack Sparrow hip flask!, My teenager got numerous ear buds, little notebooks for email addresses, first aid kits, large fold up bags to carry excursion stuff and a lot of people brought items with local flavor such as sports teams, cups from a unique eatery, home made Disney chip clips, etc.
Don't do too many gifts or you will spent half your cruise delivering them!!
We brought a lot of pirate treasure- coins, shot glasses, pirate duckies.
One family brought a traveling Mickey gnome that went from cabin to cabin- you put your cabin number on it and took it to another cabin. Magically, a mini gnome Mickey was on your door the last night if you played!
I hope this helps- it is a lot of fun AND you can ship your FE stuff to the boat beforehand, that way you don't have to pack it.

Just booked! We are WDW veterans, but cruise novices. I have a daughter who will be just shy of 13 when we sail- and I'm a little worried about how her experience will be!

My dd's are 9 & 13 and we are also novices to cruising, my kids are so excited for the different kids clubs that I think we may not see much of them on the ship lol.
