Aloha Kakkahiaka - Good Morning All.....

It is time for me to start thinking about packing, without dragging along a herd of elephants as we are not boarding and unboarding at the port. We have to fly:scared1:

I love to dress up and want to take the opportunity to be pretty so the formal gown will be backed (assuming I can zip it up...it has not seen daylight since 2005-2006.)

DH likes to dress up so he will take the tux - that is the present plan, along with different shirts and ties for semi-formal night.

Me, I may take all long dresses as I have some Hawaiian and Asian themed dresses I love with little chance to wear. They can pass as formal or semi-formal. I mean, you only see the top of me at the table - right?

I want to drag along our pirate outfits. They are easy to pack....DH says we are in the wrong ocean. What is everyone else doing? I see some of you have dropped that night......still not sure. ??? Must leave room for the every increasing hoard of souvenirs.

We live in tropical or Hawaiian shirts so casual nights will be easy. If we could merely unload contents of closet into suitcase and set up a booth on the pool deck, we could make a mint.:lmao: Or perhaps unload contents of Disney shirts into suitcase and have the same result.

Someone mentioned Cinquo de Mayo --- which would be fun. We had a Mexican night on the PC cruise, but then I realized we would be on Maui that night....So I guess it will be Kona and not Corona.....:thumbsup2

Back to packing, since I love the Hawaiian cruise fabric (and my skirt) I am looking to pair it with a variety of different tops.....Red. blue, yellow. purple, black, white.....it all works.....One skirt 14 days - why not????

I think this is why steamer trunks were invented. For those of us who cannot make up their minds.....

Have a great day all.

Went in for my annual GYN exam and tests last Friday. Got a call last night that I have to come in today to take another mamogram because of something they found on the first. Also, have to go have an pelvic unltrasound tomorrow due to another find. So send me good wishes.

Hate to vent.....which Disney would get their act together on how many formal & semi. Not only does it make a difference what to pack, but if a we want to spend the money on renting a tux. It would be so simple for them to just list it on the planning calendar.

I feel better now

I can't even find Chuck's suit or his sports jacket! I think he hid them when we moved! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

:confused3 How can I print out the Roll Call in a format large enough to read?

I tried. :scared1: It took three pages but I need a magnifying glass.

I am sure there is some way, :sad1: but I cannot figure it out. :sad2:

Thanks in advance ::yes::

 Quoting myself to say that I ran those pages through the photo copier with it set on enlarge! Now I can read them. :lmao:

When we have rented a tux DH has worn it both formal and semi-formal on the 7 day cruises and all three nights on the longer ones. I also will wear what I wear whether it is 2 formal and one semi-formal or 1 formal and 2 semi-formal. I have 2 dresses I will take, one long and one knee length. The knee length I will wear twice.....hope my tablemates don't notice!! :rotfl2: So, I guess for us it really doesn't matter as far as our packing goes. Just need to decide if DH will take his suit or rent a tux. I'm leaning towards the suit. Haven't tried on the long dress yet though....so, if it has shrunk :rolleyes1 I will wear the knee length black dress all three nights.

:thumbsup2 We did fancy events on the TransAtlantic with one jacket for Tom and one dress for me. I took TIDE stain stick in case we had a spill but we did not. He looks great in a regular sports coat and if he wears dark pants it might as well be a suit. I made a shawl that is reversible (it is a tube of fabric that I can turn inside out) that I intended to wear the sparkly side to Formal night and the matte side to the semi formals. But the people at the next table commented to our servers that they LIKED that shawl so I wore it sparkly all three times. I have some Mickey rhinestone jewelry and a little purse with Mickey shaped sequins. I wore the same sandals too. Same outfit for Palo brunch.

less to pack :yay:
less money for extra luggage :cool1:
less to carry or pull around customs!

 I have experience with both so if you need to talk, send me a PM, e-mail or phone me. (if you don't have my number from the shirt ordering, send me yours and I will call you.)

:lmao: or donated them to a worthy cause

I like the idea of formal night in Hawaiian shirts--can we get a majority vote on that? Less to pack for sure!

We enjoy dressing up for formal and semi-formal nights. Still undecided on if we're brining pirate outfits, probably will. I'm sure there will be a hawaiian themed night but we'll all have something to wear to that.
Since this is the first time we're not having to fly and only have a 20 minute drive to the port I'm planning on making the most of it and not stressing about what I'm taking. A steamer trunk should do nicely.
:banana::banana:

All the 2-week cruises I have been on before (two) have had one formal and two semiformals. I'm not packing for two formals.

Also dresses are not required for semiformals, I've worn pants suits or jumpsuits before.

More prayers and pixie dust from us, too!

And fyi to anyone looking for a Palo brunch; it was turning up as available a few minutes ago. Good luck!

I was wondering the same thing. We are booked in a cabin that we have been happy with in the past; however, since we are going to be on the ship for 15 nights I am thinking an upgrade might be in order.

Also, if my family does get a port upgrade how does that effect FE? I don't want to make extra work for folks.

Thanks!

I saw another post somewhere where folks took postcards if they were planning to upgrade at the port, then filled out the postcards with old and new stateroom numbers and then on the first day, delivered postcards with changes to all FEs, so all would know of changes.

Pelvic ultrasounds are sooo much fun .. not. Drinking a ton of water and then having them push on your bladder  My problem turned out to be fibroids, not great, but not horrific either.

We've also done two longer cruises but had 2 formals and one semi, at least I think that's how it went ... am I remembering right Linda? Bev?
