A simply sensational summer solo trip ~ August '22 edition! Completed 12/17

The breakfast at GF cafe looks amazing. I am like you, I have canceled reservations here at least 3x. We have never eaten here and have stayed at GF 3-4x!
I have to check it out. Andi and I are going to do 1x a year trips now and this will be in our list.
I need to try the pretzel bread pudding in Germany! It is always there right?
I’m scared to try GotG, the intense feeling makes me nervous. I do feel a tad of motion sickness now that I am older so that combination has stopped me from trying.
I’m enjoying your solo trip since this will be me part of the time in December!

Breakfast looks delicious as does the pretzel bread pudding. Love the new creations shop- so many nice things in there. My son bought my wee granddaughter ( his goddaughter) the cutest Minnie jean jacket from there on our last trip. We wanted all the things Self-checkout was a great timesaver too.
I loved GOTG! Intense for sure but I absolutely loved it though we did go for a sit down and a cool drink in connections cafe straight after too

We just got back from WDW and the CMs we talked with were saying that August had some of the worst heat and humidity that Florida has seen.

I love the heat and even for me it was a little much!

I have to check it out. Andi and I are going to do 1x a year trips now and this will be in our list.

They have some really great options.

I was nervous at first but it is SO fun!Spoiler alert, I rode it twice more during my trip and loved it more each time.

Also, I feel like an idiot, because I had something for you and you took me by surprise when you tapped me on my shoulder and I completely forgot!

For my entree, I went with the avocado toast and a side of bacon.This was perfect with lots of juicy tomatoes and creamy avocado. Add in the crispy bacon and I couldn't have been happier!

Breakfast sounds really good. Danielle likes eating here too.

I took many photos and videos for my son Jack as he adores manatees.

Great manatee photos.

I did like the Coco display though and the subtle nod to the 50th celebrations.

I like that the displays change. This is a favorite for us and seeing something different makes us come back again and again.

I picked out this sweet darling as a possible Christmas gift. I love Figaro and Cleo!

And if you are going to World Showcase, there is only one place to start. Mexico! I can't go to Mexico without going on "It's a Small Mexico". I decided to start a new thing with the front row, just like on the People Mover!

I like this new tradition.

It was intense, exhilirating and incredible! I actually had to sit down for about 20 minutes after as I was a bit off kilter after riding it. That being said, I loved it! My song was "Conga" which was a lot of fun!

Wow, I don't know if I'll be able to do it more than once if it makes me dizzy. Did you do better the next time your rode?

Once I rode a second time, I figured out the trick. You just have to go with the muisc. Once you do that, it is so much easier.

The biscuits were perfect! Just the right treat before a fun morning!

I like that the displays change. This is a favorite for us and seeing something different makes us come back again and again.

I do really enjoy that about LwtL too.

It was much better the second time. I learned you just have to go with the music and not focus on the track.

You will be doing just that in no time at all with your mum! Stepping into Epcot really is one of life’s best pleasures isn’t it. We were trying to think of somewhere to go for dinner this weekend to end off the Halloween break and while we were all discussing where to go one of the boys said “let’s dander into Epcot and go to Chefs”. Needless to say the other one said “nah let’s go to Trattoria “ because God forbid we ever agree on a restaurant for dinner even in our wildest imaginations

Hello to Animal Kingdom Lodge!

Arriving at the Lodge, I enjoyed wandering around the stunning lobby. I checked in at the desk and found that my room had been assigned! I had booked a standard which is a gamle with DVC at Jambo House. You could be assigned a partial savannnah view or a pool view. Well, I got a pool view. The loudest poolview imaginable! As well, the room was not in the best of shape. There was no cover on the boxspring and it just felt sketchy. So I decided to head back to the front desk and ask if there was another option. I am a big fan of a mid day break and I knew that would be impossible with the noise level. Honestly, it felt as though the pool games were happening IN my room. The balcony was even worse as the noise level made it completely unenjoyable. Luckily I had a sympathetic CM at the front desk and he agreed to move me although the room was not available until the next day. I decided I would head off for a little pool and hot tub time.​

After a good soak, a hot shower and a change of clothes I decided to head to Victoria Falls lounge for a little bite and a drink. I chose the Victoria Falls Mist (Midori Melon Liqueur, Van der Hum Tangerine Liqueur, Banana Liqueur and Sour Mix topped with Sprite). This was delicious if perhaps a bit on the sweet side.

My favourite spiced goat cheese dip was still on the menu so I chose that next.
This was so rich and delicious....so rich in fact that I couldn't finish it all.
Feleing replete after my drink, food and a nice chat with the bartender and fellow guests, I decided to head back to the room. Originally I had planned on going for extra magic hours at Magic Kingdom but with a late night the night before, I decided to turn in instead.

The next morning I was hoping for an early safari so set my alarm for a 6 am wakeup. It was awesome to see the Tree of Life looking lovely in the early morning light.

I made a beeline for the safari and was happy to to see there was only a 10 minute wait. It was a glorious morning and the animals were out and active,






I was thrilled to get a close up visit with my adored giraffes.

I wandered around a little afterwards and finally found the Mickey in Harambe.


It was about 10:00 now and I decided to head back so I could pack up my old room and get ready to move over. I packed a pool bag so I could hang out poolside for a while. After floating around for a while enjoying the sunshine, I decided to head to the Mara for some lunch. I went for the Marakesh falafel platter (Tabbouleh, Cucumber-Tomato Salad, Hummus, and Tahini Sauce served with Pita Bread). This hit the spot perfectly.


I decided to hop on the resort shuttle next and went to check out the gift shop at Kidani. I find they often have a better selection of DVC merchandise there and was able to track down a ball cap I had been looking for.

Arriving back at Jambo house I got my room ready notification.

Opening to the room, I was delighted to see I had received a partial savannah view! Plus the room was in much better condition.

I was so much happier!!

I had my Owner's Locker and suitcase delivered and got busy settling in. here's my room in all it's glory....






I unpacked my pins I had purchased or traded for so far and watched a bit of HGTV.

Rather than rush to a park, I decided to hang on my balcony with candy from the Halloween party, a glass of wine and my book. Here was the Disney zen I had been hoping for.

Feeling relaxed and happy, I decided to head out to my favourite place for dinner. I am sure you know where that is..............​
