Ok... I knew I had seen the recipe...

Not that they are as good as WDW... but if you're stuck at home in a snowstorm with all the ingredients... I'd make them and eat them all in one sitting...

Beach Club

Ingredients

For the mousse:
16 oz. heavy cream
6 egg yolks
16 oz. white chocolate
4 gelatin sheets or 2 tbs. powdered gelatin place in 3 oz water
1 dozen Oreo Cookies (crumbled)
3 dozen Oreo Cookies (whole)
For the ganache:
16 oz. dark chocolate
16 oz. heavy cream

1. Prepare the mousse: Melt chocolate. Whip 16 oz. heavy cream until consistency of ice cream.
2. Place gelatin in cold water. Heat egg yolks until warm; add chocolate, stirring constantly.
3. Place gelatin in microwave until gelatin is dissolved. While gelatin is heating, add one third of heavy cream to the egg yolk and white chocolate mixture; mix well.
4. Add a little of the cream to the heated gelatin and mix well, then add both the gelatin mixture and the chocolate mixture to the remaining whipped cream and fold until incorporated.
5. Fold in crumbled cookies, mixing well. Let mousse set up, around 2-4 hours.
6. Prepare the ganache: Over light heat, melt 16 oz. chocolate into 16 oz. of heavy cream, mixing until combined.
7. To serve: Place 3 dozen Oreo cookies on a sheet pan. Pipe mousse onto cookies, and dip into ganache.

Well, yum, that chicken at Spoodles looked great.

I did not need to know all the guilty things in an oreo bon bon! :faint:

Oh my. That marscapone cheesecake looks sooo good right now!! --drool--

Keep it comin', keep it comin'!

It was truly excellent!!

WOW that dessert looks amazing! I'm always too stuffed from a big bowl of mussels and the shrimp linguine to think about dessert. I can't give up either one of them!!;)

I never liked the desserts at Spoodles - my love comes from the Med Dips. But the latest ones rock! :thumbsup2

Leaving off the fungus :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: , that's way I order too, I mean without mushrooms, but we don't say fungus, but I should, lol.

HA! I hate mushrooms. HATE them. And they are in everything...sigh...

When we were there in May, I was wanting some of that hummus real bad. we went to Victoria Falls (the little bar right above Boma's) and they have an appitizer there called the Taste of Africa that is to die for! :cool1: It's 3 different kinds of hummus and lots of delicious toasted pita pieces. It was more than enough for dh and I to share...I don't even think we finished it.

OH!!!! We have Boma with the whole fam later this week...we might have to stop at Victoria Falls!

Wow - that meals looks great. You are so good at describing the flavors of the food - you should work for the Food Network :)

Thanks! I love some of the shows on Food NW...and I love food and WDW even more ;)

It so was...!

My pleasure! I am enjoying it a lot. Reading TR's and DR's always gets me in the mood for vaca as well.

Oh - my DH would love me so much! Thanks!

We stopped at the BW Bakery last night after dinner to use a CS credit for breakfast today. The CM that helped us was AWESOME! He was so sweet and helpful showing us what we could get with our CS credits. We asked about the fruit plate and he let us know the yogurt parfait could be a dessert. Cool!

This is in the fridge still - haven't eaten it yet!

Served along with:

We snacked on this after coming back from the MK today. DH loved it and DS didn't like the granola. I thought it was very good. The BW Bakery CM said they make them there at the Bakery so it's fresh.

Everything we got for the CS credit:

I mentioned something about "tomorrow's breakfast" to the CM who checked us out and she said "oh - let me warn you it gets really long lines here in the morning." I let her know breakfast was what she had just rung up and she said we saved ourselves a ton of time with that.

So worth carrying back if you're on the BW at night!

I'm planning on going to the BWV during Christmas. How is the transportation and crowds like there?

Thanks

P.S. Is the crispy chicken from Spoodles new because I didn't see it on the online menu.

We decided to meet DB and Fam over at the Poly for breakfast before heading to the MK. We used two CS credits for food to split - DS insisted he wasn't hungry until he sat down and saw they have Mickey waffles. Of COURSE they have Mickey waffles! You'd think this was the kid's first WDW rodeo!! So DH had to go back and get DS his breakfast. He got a large Mickey waffle, plain, and a gatorade type drink and paid cash.

This was the meal where I intiated DB and Fam into food photos. DB and SIL are being extremely sweet about it and DNep and DNee thought it was weird, but are okay with it. DNep even stops anyone from eating before I can take a good shot. That's my boy! :thumbsup2

DH's breakfast:

July2108011.jpg

Breakfast Platter - scrambled eggs, with bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, and biscuit $5.79

He said the eggs were a little runny/mushy but otherwise it was a good breakfast that filled him up. He also ate some of my leftovers:

YUM!!! Tonga toast with the sausage as side. I loved the sausage and managed to eat both pieces without letting DS see (he loves sausage more than me!). They were huge and well cooked. The Tonga Toast? Exactly the same as Kona...!! HUGE!!! I enjoyed it a lot and ate it without syrup. Very sweet, but the deep fried part did get to me after a while and I only ate half. DH was happy to have a few bites too and DS had some and liked it.

Same as DH - liked it

Same as me - but with bacon.

Loved this! Didn't miss having no meat.

Our drinks (one OJ missing)

DB and Fam had 8 drinks in a combo of gatorade, juice, and water.

All in all, we had a great breakfast outside at Captain Cooks before heading over to the MK...and stayed full until long long afterwards.

BWV - crowds have not been bad at all and this is high season...definitely a great place to go! I would either take the boat or walk over from Epcot for the quickest transportation, depending on where you are staying. There is fun street entertainment, surrey bikes, plenty of places to sit and the view is unbelieveable!!

A photo taken last night at sunset looking from the BW to the Beach Club:

Ah....bliss!!!

As to the chicken, yes it must be new. I was going to just get the Med Dips and Greek Salad and not use a credit but then I saw the chicken on someone's table on the way to ours (and I had scoped out the dessert table so that was appealing too!). I hadn't seen it on allears so I assumed it was new. VERY good!

We desperately needed a break at the MK (HOT today!) and so DS and I hung out while DH ran to get a treat:

Yes, the infamous Dole Whip. Except the pineapple sorbet part was refilling. So DH bought vanilla soft serve in pineapple juice. Which means we have to go back.

DS fell in love with this!!

Oh, thank goodness! I'm planning a breakfast here on one of our MK days. Want Tonga Toast...do not want to devote time to Kona! Do they really still open at 6:30 a.m.?

This ADR was made fully based on the DISboards restaurant photos. And seriously, I was thinking about how I would word my review and I thought how annoying it must be that everything we have had so far has been fantastic...like "does this woman love everything???' (answer: NO!!) I mean, the food has been great, the service has been either very good or REALLY good...! So could Tutto Italia live up?

Oh HECK yeah!!!

We had dinner with DB and Fam and it was just amazing good...! First of all, I was so impressed with the kid's menu. DS and DNee had some terrific choices beyond just mac and cheese and make your own sundaes. This meal is expensive (my dessert was $14...FOURTEEN DOLLARS!!!) but worth it!

So shall we get started??

Our lovely server from Roma (loved him!) started us with two servings of the antipasti:

breads (Italian, wheat, breadsticks, flatbread) and olive oil:

marinated veggies and basil butter:

Veggies included: celery, carrots, olives, red pepper, artichoke

Starters for DS and DNee - mozzarella "sticks"

DNee loved this a lot and DS shared with everyone so we all tried them...very good! Not exciting flavors but perfect for kids. And a great choice!!

I believe so..I know it is EARLY!

I'm ducking off to bed now - getting very tired! But I'll post the rest of Tutto while DH and DS get ready tomorrow. It deserves more time than I'd give it now...;)

Just wanted to tell you that I'm loving your report. Thank you for taking the time out of your trip to share this LIVE with us :thumbsup2 .

Oh, I so love this trip report! :thumbsup2

I am really looking forward to the rest of Tutto Italia because it is on my list as well, and I was not sure about likeing it.
And let me tell you that I admire you :worship: for doing your trip report while you are actually there. I tried to do so last summer, but gave up after about 5 days because of early mornings and late nights in the parks, LOL!
