July 5, 1967, my brother drowned on Lake Michigan. :( I only have 1 real memory of him seeing how I was a little under 3 at the time. It changed my life so much because my parents, my mother in particular, became much more over protective of me than she was of the other 3 kids, all of who were grown when I was born. It did teach me lessons that I have learned...........and lessons that I needed to learn as I also lost a son and had a daughter after. I try not to make the same mistakes my mom made (I loved her dearly but it is never good to tell one child that "God sent you to us to be Jim's replacement"....no, not good at all! :earseek: )

:( We seem to run from a lot of the things our parents did and try to do the opposite in some sort of rebellion, but hindsite shows us that most of the time they were right. This has happened to me several times. Many hugs to you.

Colleen....:grouphug: from our home. I didn't know this:( and I'm so sorry. You and your family have been through WAY too much and although you are strong I want it to STOP NOW!!! I consider you to be a great friend and it kills me to hear of all your heartbreaks. You ALWAYS seem to amaze me.
Love ya,
Kim

Sorry for the sad anniversary. Life is just too tragic sometimes.

I am so sorry. You have been through so much in your life. I wish I could make all the pain go away.

Colleen,
I don't know you very well, but your story here has touched my heart. You are definitely NO ONE's replacement. You alone are irreplaceable... we all are. I am so sad to hear of this. I sense so much more behind this story and my heart just goes out to you.
