What is your least favourite resort, and why?

All Star Sports- we just stayed for one night coming in on a late flight. It was fine but just not a fan.

Beach Club- neither of us cared for Beach Club. We looked forward to staying here & was so excited. BUT we did a split stay between CSR GDT club level & then checked into BC. BIG MISTAKE! We should've just stayed at GDT.

Least fav: Any of the Values.
WHY: the bus stops. I don't appreciate standing in the sun waiting for a bus. I think it's a big oversight that WDW can't provide some type of overhead shade protection for their guests waiting for buses at a Value resort.

Of course, this doesn't mean I won't stay at a Value ever again. I will if it's all I can comfortably afford.

I haven't stay at an ALL STARS, but the theme'ing doesn't really do anything for me. POP is okay but not my fave.

Of the MODS, I would say POFQ. Only ever stayed there once. The theme is not too exciting for me and the pool is boring. That said, I would stay at POR. My fave mod is CSR.

Of the deluxe, OKW unless I am staying in the cluster of rooms near the lobby/pool. (I didn't mind it when in one of those rooms.) It's just so spread out and, if you aren't in a cluster near a pool, that's even worse. I would still stay there again though if it were the only option.

Not a fan of the Contemporary or Bay Lake Tower because of the pools.

A few qualify for me:
* Port Orleans - either of them. NOT a fan of the themeing. (Yes, I'm the weird person who doesn't like New Orleans at all.)
* Saratoga Springs or Old Key West - too spread out and feel like any condo community anywhere
* Swolfin - bad experiences at Marriotts in the past mean those are a nope
* Grand Floridian - too bougie for me, I'm not that fancy

I'm not really a fan of the limited QS options at Beach Club, Yacht Club, or Boardwalk, but I wouldn't totally rule them out like the ones above.

Kidani - It's far from everything except AKL, and when we stayed the bus service was incredibly slow. It lacks the grandeur of Jambo, and the hallways leading from the lobby were so small that we had to move my wife's wheelchair to the side and wait for anyone passing. It's selling point is the ability to view animals on the Savannahs, but that's only interesting for so long, especially given the price you're paying.

I haven't stayed at one of the values in a couple decades, so no comment there. But of the moderate and deluxe, CBR is easily our least favorite. Its just too damn big and the internal transport system kinda stinks in my experience. Never again. There are just better moderate resorts available

Value: ASMusic. Why? Because I once spent a horrendous 5 sleepless nights there. The room-to-room noise was unbearable. At the time it never occurred to me to move to another resort (something I'd do in a heartbeat now) or ask for a different, possibly(?) less noisy room. Because of this experience I would never stay in a AS again because even if all I do in the room is sleep, I need to sleep.

Mod: GDT. Why? Because I'm a vegan and there is practically no vegan food available at the QS here. So I wouldn't stay at CSR in any room.

Deluxe: Swan. Why? Because there is zero Disney vibe there. During my one stay there, I kept thinking it was like being in an okay hotel in Anywhere, USA. Not the experience I want at WDW.

I am now a Disney Vacation Club member, but before joining I stayed in ALL STAR Music and Sports, Cornado Springs, Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge.

I am spoiled, so I could not be comfortable at an ALL Star Resort. I would like to stay in the Tower at Cornado the rooms look beautiful and I love the amenenties there.

My least favorite DVC, is probably Old Key West, but Saratoga Springs is close to Disney Springs but its too large, so that a close 2nd.

:earsgirl: 😎

Kind'a Animal Kingdom Lodge. Love the savannah. Love the theming. Love the restaurants.

Just don't love getting back the resort and feeling like the walking distance from lobby to your room is like walking from the front of MK to the back of Toon Town! My wife timed it and counted the steps. It was a lot.
Agreed!! Longest walk of anywhere we have stayed. We won't stay there again just for this reason, sadly

Pop Century. Parking and walking was a lot. Also, every time we got back it felt like we were walking up to a prison cell block not a hotel. But, we stayed there when it first opened and got a deal we couldn't pass up. $55 a night!!

For what it's worth, I have heard folks driving or renting cars love AK more. At least on the Kidani side you can park below your room and walk or elevator up to your floor. We're always without a car and haven't got to experience AK Lodge that way.

My husband has no desire to go back to the values because they were too cramped for him, with 4 of us plus a stroller.

There isn't a Disney resort that I would say "never again," but there are ones that I like more than others.

While I love the Poly, parts of it have a chaotic feel to it.

Also, while we enjoyed our stay to Coronado Springs (Gran Destino was under construction at the time), there aren't enough pros to it to counteract it being farther from the parks.

We actually loved AKL Kidani and OKW and CBR. Might not stay at CBR again only because of lack of discounts/ we can get rooms just as nice or nicer for less.

At CBR we were uncomfortable with the entire esthetic of "mansions" vs. backwater cabins.
I'm assuming you meant POR here.

For me, I have no "never again" resorts. Out of the ones I've stayed at, my least favorite was CBR due to its size and the theming just didn't do it for me. The Skyliner is nice as well as the fact that its the hub. I'd try it again now after the refurb.

All Star Music was our first and least liked. It was what we could afford at the time. And the reason we bought DVC
One of my reasons too! After sleeping in All Star Music, DVC rooms looked so good to me!
I had really looked forward to staying at All Star Music because DS is a professional musician, and I was even in the Jazz section, which was his major in college. But it was such a disappointment-all I could think of was a bunch of drunk college guys sitting around their college lounge saying "I wonder how many of us could afford to go to WDW if we stayed at this resort?"

Any of the All Star resorts, they became a place that’s great for competition groups such as baseball, football and cheerleading, very noisy and not such a great value anymore. Years ago when they first opened rooms were 65.00 a night, it was a great deal, not so much anymore

Riviera. Tiny lobby, no vibe, expensive points wise, just feels like a normal non-Disney resort. I really hate it lol. It’s called an Epcot resort but it’s not really because it’s not that close. I’ve never stayed there because I have no desire to, but I have visited (and toured a room) and other than the mosaic murals there’s nothing going for it imo. I’ve been to the south of France/Italian Mediterranean region several times and although this resort is supposed to mimic that vibe it really doesn’t, at least to me it doesn’t. I’d rather stay at literally any other resort. I don’t know why I have such a strong aversion to this resort but I really do lol.

I sort of agree with you. We ate at Topolino's for breakfast on our last stay and took the chance to walk around and visit the resort. Yeah it's nice, but definitely lacking something. Even the pool area was just meh to me. We were staying at CBR and much preferred the vibe there.
