What is your least favourite resort, and why?

French Quarter felt very superfluous to me. It’s pretty but claustrophobically small, the food is mediocre and limited, and the boat to DS is about the only thing going for it. People tout the single bus stop but fail to mention it shares with POR midday so unless you’re only traveling at peak hours you’re going to be rolling the whole resort before getting out to a park anyway. It may actually be the most overrated resort on property ….
Agree with you about the bus, but we loved the fact that it was small and easy to get around. Actually steps to get my refillable mug refilled with the dining plan, as opposed to it becoming just another unused souvenir. We liked the food court and Scat Cat Club, and the grand kids loved the pool slide and splash pad. When compared to CRB, another moderate which we hated, POFQ ranked way up there.
Also I also love the Swan and Dolphin. Unpopular opinion, Stormalong Bay fills everyone’s swim suits with sand, which is hard to get out😂!
And I loved the ambiance of the Wilderness Lodge at Christmas, but the boats were slow and not as efficient as the buses. Small concession though for what else was offered.

I just prefer having actual grounds to walk about when I'm at a resort, and there's such a thing as too small. These things are subjective. I really hated the lack of actual table service options when I stayed there; I'm just not a food court person at the end of the day, for a lot of reasons. I'm sure it was a great fit for your family but those were my reasons it was a one and done for me.

Least favorite deluxe is the Polynesian. It is always, always packed with people everywhere. Also, having to walk outside between buildings to get to the quick service location feels just like staying at a value, only with a much larger price tag.

Least favorite moderate: It's a toss up between CBR and POR. CBR is just huge- I'm not a fan of the internal buses just to get to the food court, pool/bar, skyliner, etc. At CBR we were uncomfortable with the entire esthetic of "mansions" vs. backwater cabins.

We don't have a "least favorite" value resort. They are all fine, especially if I am traveling solo, or we are doing a park-centric trip and just need a place to shower/sleep. In that case, ASMusic is our first choice of value, POP our last (due to size, but the skyliner is fun).
I visited the Poly (didn’t stay) and have to say I left a little disappointed. Super loud with people everywhere and it didn’t feel all that relaxing.

Maybe it’s because I was there around dinner time but it wasn’t what I thought it’d be

Same!

So many people around - probably a combination of the monorail, Ohana, resort hoppers etc.

I will say it really has all to do with the atmosphere for my family.

Value-Pop Centurty-The last time we stayed was prior to their last refurb and things were falling off the walls or held up be duct tape. It was only one night before we moved to our DVC stay and the noise of neighbors flushing toilets was so bad it was crazy.

Mod-POR-No disrespect to the nice guests that stay there but the last time we stayed there the was a noticable attitude many of the guest had. We stay at the Grand a lot and many of the guests at POR were acting eliteist and entitled more than I have ever experienced at Grand. Best example was one morning we were eating in the food court and guests all around us were leaving their tables with their trays, trash everywhere, food and sticky stuff on the tables and they just got up and walked away. When we went to leave we cleared our table and took the tray with all the trash to the can and tossed it. The CM's there seemed shocked and thanked us profusely for clearing our table. We thanked them for their service and one mentioned how much they appreciated our comments as few guests even acknowledged they were there. We also had a lady appearing to be in her early 40's get on a bus after us and walk up to my husband and tell him he needed to get up and give her his seat, he is a cancer survivor and was just at the beginning of his cancer journey so his fatigue was high. He started to stand and I told him to sit down as she was clearly 20+ years younger and able to stand and she need to check her entitlement. She got huffy and moved farther back to a different seat. There was no reason he should have had to move to the back when she could have just walked to the back and sat down. Plus he was the only one she told to move when other men were sitting in the same area who were also younger. We all swore after that POR is a never again for us.

Deluxe-Rivera- I wanted to like it but it just felt too much for me. It is hard to describe but the vibe and the layout of the resort didn't flow well for the way my brain views things. I have the same issue with Hollywood studios.

Least: SSR, design, theming and those exterior cement walkways

we prefer to pay cash at ASMu (or WBC if we can catch a deal) & save our points for another trip.

I’ve stayed at every resort except SSR. Just can’t get myself to. I’m from upstate NY so the theme doesn’t appeal to me, I also love rides and being in the parks. I only go to DS rarely. So the location doesn’t work for me.

Unless I need space like a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom I’ll pick any other resort. I’m sure the day will come it will be the only one available my dates but so far I’ve found other options.

I prefer not to do values at my age but would. I enjoyed the Mods last year, I did CBR, POFQ and CSR and enjoyed them but prefer CSR tower for mods.

My go to is monorail resorts or WL. Then boardwalk area our next preferred. We like to be near the action, 😄

This reminds me of a common reason for a resort being someone's least favorite. I have no desire to stay at Colorado Springs, because I live on the Mexican Border and the resort reminds me too much of where I live. When Yacht and Beach Club first opened (1991 or so), I lived in Massachusetts, and I visited the resort, and disliked it because it gave me Cape Cod Vibes. Yet, now that I've left Massachusetts, I love Y&BC, just as I love getting to go to Massachusetts and especially Cape Cod. So, trishadono, there's hope for you and SSR!

For me personally, it's Old Key West. I don't like renting a car for Disney World trips, and IMO it's not a great choice if you don't have your own transport. The theming is OK but pretty bland for a DVC resort.

I love CSR! It’s so different from home!

Any deluxe with long winding hallways

- AKL
- BW
- BC (they also had the rudest most entitled guests ever on our stay)
- CR wing
- YC

We haven't stayed at the WL so I can't compare so that leaves Poly & GF and I always have an umbrella with me in Orlando so rain isn't a deterrent. Also I don't mind leaving the main check in area to stay in an outer building

I would have to say that SSR and OKW would be our least favorites. We find the theme kind of bland and when we stay in the DS area we would much rather stay at one of the PO resorts, the themes are so much better, we save $, you can walk to either resort to use their amenities, or eating places etc. I will say that over the 20+ years of going, we found location to be very overrated to us, especially when you factor in the cost of it.
