It sounds like you had a great vacation!!!

Can you tell me if the lounge was open 24 hours? After reading what you posted, it sounded like the lounge closed in the early evening.

Well I am not sure if the lounge was open 24 hrs or not!!!
I know the night we came in from the Halloween party which was late and I was able to get a soda,I think they were closing the doors if I remember correctly but they let me get it. I would say you can only get stuff out of fridge and maybe coffee then when its after hours!!!

here is the schedule we got for lounge hours:
Coffee:6:30 to 7 am
Continental Breakfast:7 to 10:30 am
Light snacks:11:30 to 4pm
hors d'oeuvres & select beverages:5 to 7pm
Desserts & Cordials: 8pm to 10pm

they would clean up in between and prepare then it would be closed!!!

hope this helps!

Hi There,

DW and I will be staying at the BC for the first time from Dec 8th to the 12th. We have booked a standard. We would like to be on the ground floor, or maybe the second floor, as close as possible to the walkway to the IG at epcot. What should I ask for?

It actually will begin a few hours earlier. My flight was bumped up a few minutes and now leaves before 7:00 a.m. So, I booked a hotel at the airport for the night before! :yay:

Have a great trip and make sure to have fun for all of us who have to wait a long, long time before we experience the magic.

I didnt do online check in because as Teena has said many times I am sure on this site is if there is any chance for a upgrade your best beat is too not make requests and don't check in online!!!

and since we had no request and there really doesnt seem to be any advantage to me to check in online!!!!

my check in at BC was super quick, no line!!!

enjoy

An on-line check-in is great if you do not have room requests and therefore questions about whether those room requests were met and you are not going to "talk" to the CM about anything. The whole idea of the on-line check-in is to pick up your packet with your keys and go. If you have requests and want to ask the CM whether your requests were met or if you ask the CM where your room is and you might want to see if there is another room in another location available, etc., then you should do a regular check-in. With an on-line check-in, the keys to your room are already there, your room is assigned, it's all done. If you want information about anything or want to perhaps see if another room is available, you will hold up the entire on-line process --- you should instead be in the regular check-in line. As far as paying for upgrades, if you want to request an upgrade and need to ask the CM about the price difference, then for sure you don't want to do an on-line check-in.

As far as your chances of getting a complimentary upgrade, on-line check-ins don't matter one way or another. You could do an on-line check-in and still get a complimentary upgrade. Upgrades are done because of room counts. We may be oversold in a certain category and have to upgrade people to fix those counts. Whether or not you do an on-line check-in or not would not affect whether or not you might get one of those upgrades. The thing that matters most in those cases are if your reservation fits what we need to fix. In other words, if we are oversold by three rooms in regular waterview rooms for 5 days starting Saturday, then we will look for three guests who booked a waterview room for 5 days and are arriving on Saturday. The other upgrades are for magic. They just happen pure and simple because of good old Disney Magic.

Add the following request to your reservation "room on first or second floor nearest to Epcot requested".

Question for Teena or maybe an experienced DISmember!!
I am so upset I am unpacking my luggage from our trip and realize that pieces from my son Halloween costume are missing,
2 pieces, but I only really care about one!!!
Has anyone ever left something in a disney hotel before and if so got it back?
what should I do, should I call the resort just in case?
I bought the costume at disney and its the vest and the hat,
I really don't care about the hat, he didn't even use it!!
but the vest makes the whole pirate costume!!
I really thought I got everything in the room, but I can't imagine where else it would be,
thanks for any suggestions!!

PS we actually lost my youngest sons shoe (a green croc) in MGM,
we totally noticed in right away, could only been gone 5 minutes but no luck getting it back!! thankfully we had a back up pair of shoes!!
at least the summer is over here so this is not really a big deal,
but the halloween costume is totally bumming me out especially since i paid $60 dollars for it and he only wore it for halloween party, now I will have to find something else for halloween...

I know the answer to this question is already here someone, but hopefully someone will be kind enough to answer. We have a BC garden view room booked in February. I have no idea what makes for an ideal room location. Any suggestions for what I should ask for?

Since you booked a garden view, your view will be nice, either a garden or courtyard. As far as what to request would depend on what you want. Do you want to be close to the lobby or would you prefer to be close to Epcot? Do you want a full balcony? Do you want first floor with a patio? What is ideal for you could be horrible for someone else. To be close to the lobby puts you close to SAB, the bus stop and the restaurants. To be close to Epcot means you would use the exit door next to room 1501 and cut the walk to the International Gateway in half. Some people only care about getting a full balcony versus the standing balcony.

Call the Beach Club as quickly as possible (tomorrow morning) and ask to speak to the Beach Club lost and found, NOT the central lost and found. If it was in the room, housekeeping would have put it in the BC lost and found.

No, your information was fine ... I just wanted to explain the whole process so people would totally understand how it works.

I'm really glad you had a great time!!

Have a great trip and make sure to have fun for all of us who have to wait a long, long time before we experience the magic.

Thank you! I remember when my ticker was over 10 months. At times it seemed to drag, but then it would speed up as planning got busier and busier. My hope for those of you with long tickers is that your time passes quickly and happily!

I hope you are feeling better this morning, Teena.

I am!!!!! I think all those good wishes and helpful suggestions helped!

I'm feeling like a live person again. My head still hurts but it's not splitting open when I cough. I'm coughing but slept all night straight though. My allergies are acting up which is a nice feeling compared to the brochitis. And I actually woke up hungry ... can't wait for the Tastycakes! The house is a wreck but I'm not going to clean for another day or two. I don't want to overdue it. Today I will rest again all day and maybe get out the suitcase for the trip and start packing. I'm feel human again!! :yay:

Glad you're feeling better. Don't over do it. The house cleaning can wait and wait and wait. ;)

Got back Sunday from first stay at YC--and we loved it. It was a girls' weekend, with me and 2 of my sisters. It was originally a last minute budget getaway with a stay at All Star Movies, but, well--things changed.

My first impression walking into the YC lobby was that the pictures you see do not do it justice. It is very rich and warm but not the least bit stuffy. And as far as being quieter than BC, every time we were in the lobby it was a beehive of activity. We did walk over to BC, and I really could not see or feel any appreciable difference in activity.

We had booked CL, standard view, and when we checked in we had been upgraded to a lagoon view, in room 5145. We had great view of lagoon, lighthouse and Boardwalk across the way, and a spectacular view of Illuminations at night.

We were only 2 rooms down from elevator and lounge, but did not hear any significant noise.

The CL CM's were truly wonderful. One of my sisters is diabetic and cannot have caffeine, so she asked the CMs if they happened to have any caffeine free diet drinks. When they said they did not, Patty was fine, and said she realized that was a special request and she would just drink water. Well, within 10 minutes, the CM came in with some caffeine free diet coke and Sprite Zero she had scrounged up from somewhere. Patty was thrilled and very touched.

CL was great. There was always plenty of the offerings out, and the CM kept the trays replenished. I think we enjoyed the breakfast the most, especially the oatmeal with all the toppings. The evening appetizers were very good as well. We found that with breakfast in the lounge, and appetizers and drinks in the afternoon we spent far less on food than we had planned. We were able to get soft drinks fairly late (around 10:30 or so) but as we were all soundly asleep by 11-11:30 I don't know the status of the lounge during the night.

Our room was immaculate and again pictures don't do the rooms justice. Beds were very comfortable and the pillows were great. I really loved the "gentle on" when you turned on the light in the vanity area of the bathroom.

Even with 3 girls and all the shoes needed for a weekend we had plenty of closet and drawer space.

We loved SAB--did not tackle the slide, but enjoyed playing in the Sinking Sands, floating down the lazy river and the hot tubs. SAB was not crowded, and our keys were not checked--but we brought them with us every time just in case. Pool was open to 10 p.m.

The only minor unpleasantness was at Beaches and Cream. We waited only a few minutes for a table, which was better than we expected, but once we were seated, no one came for our order. After 10 minutes we left. I think it may have been an off night and if we had more time we would have tried again.

We arrived Friday, plan was to go to Epcot on Saturday, leave Sunday. We were having such a great time that if we had not already bought our tickets to Epcot we would not have gone. As a matter of fact, we are going to go to YC again the same time next year, and just hang out at the resort and Boardwalk.

DH and I had already booked 3 nights at YC during the first week of December, and while I cannot convince him to do CL, I know we will have a great time.

Thanks again for all of the wonderful posters on this thread--all in all our visit went very smoothly because of all the great information here.
