Just wanted to add that we always do online check-in and have always gotten great rooms! All of my requests were met on our most recent trip (NOT 1st floor and Epcot view). When traveling with 3 little ones, I like having a super short and sweet check-in process!

I'm feeling like a live person again. My head still hurts but it's not splitting open when I cough. I'm coughing but slept all night straight though. My allergies are acting up which is a nice feeling compared to the brochitis. And I actually woke up hungry ... can't wait for the Tastycakes! The house is a wreck but I'm not going to clean for another day or two. I don't want to overdue it. Today I will rest again all day and maybe get out the suitcase for the trip and start packing. I'm feel human again!!

Glad to hear you are feeling well do not overdo it the house will still be dirty when you are feeling better at least mine always is. There is no mousekeeping at my house! Enjoy the trip and the visit with your daughter.

I am a BC Newb, and I have booked a standard view room. My first instincts are to get a 1st or 2nd floor room overlooking Epcot, not for the view but for the proximity to the IG. What are the drawbacks of these rooms. Are there better standard room from the location perspective, I am not so concerned about the view.

Requesting "lower floor room near Epcot" means the room is close to IG (which is good when you go to Epcot) but will be a longer walk to the lobby where you exit for everything else. It's good you are not concerned about the view because if you book a standard view, the view most likely will be a roof, parking lot or something not pretty. Another thing to think about is whether you hope for a full or standing balcony if you are not on the first floor. Half the balconies are full and half are standing. It's best to limit your request to whatever is most important to you. Also please remember a request is just that. It is not guaranteed. All that is guaranteed is that you will get what you booked, i.e., a standard view.

Even the room closest to IG (1501) ... the walk into Epcot would be maybe two and a half minutes instead of four minutes.

I personally prefer a room request of "close to lobby" which puts me central to everything: restaurants, SAB, walkway to Epcot, walkway to bus, walkway to boat. It might seem like a horribly long walk if your room is close to 1501 but at the most it's a two minute walk from the lobby unless you are an extremely slow walker. Really, two minutes isn't that big of a deal. I know at the end of the day after walking ten miles around parks, it's nice to limit your walk to your room. But no room is perfect. If you are coming from the buses, you would want close to the lobby. If you were coming from IG, you'd want close to Epcot. If you were at SAB, you'd want close to lobby. No room is perfect all the time.

If so, what would be the best way to request that? I read on another board that requesting above the gazebo would work but I thought I should check with you LOL

Sorry to be such a pest, but it seems when DW booked the room through expedia.ca she booked a room with a king sized bed. I guess I am asking if there is a list posted somewhere which shows which rooms have these beds.

There is no room category at the YC or BC for a king bed. You can request a king bed but there are very very very few of them so there's a huge chance you will not get it.

You can purchase both at the BC Marketplace but boy are they expensive!

We usually get it about 3 days before the month starts so I'm sure it's there. I don't know that it is posted anywhere on line. I would think your best bet is to get someone that's there now to post it. I'm not back until 10/10.

You could perhaps PM someone who is going tomorrow or the next day to get you one. I think PNO4TE and ShelleyLynn are checking in 10/1 and I think I_Believe is checking in 10/2. Perhaps you could PM one of them.

If I were going to have my laptop with me I would happily report back, but I won't have it so I can't report anything until the 11th at the earliest. Sorry.

I have postponed the drive to the airport until our horrible monsoon-like weather leaves. It is just terrible right now and I would rather leave here at 3:00 a.m. and make it in one piece than to leave now and not make it at all. I hope those of you north of us don't get the torrential rains we are having! And, sadly, we are not getting the worst of it! I can't wait to get to FL tomorrow!

Can someone tell me approximately how big the refridgerators are in the BC? I am thinking specifically if I did a garden grocer order - and got milk for the kids for breakfast. What size will fit in the fridge?
