I'm not sure how I missed so much activity here, but I feel like I've been gone for days! I went to the gym three times this week which is my goal for now. I get up, put Nachito on the bus, do my homework, get the girls ready for dayare and go to the gym after I drop them off. It sounds like alot! I still need to try to fit things in like get the car serviced, which should be DH's job, and grocery shop which I have come to hate. Fortunately, I am not getting sick, just a little sore from the gym, which is a good thing.

I don't have enough time right now to write to everyone so good luck and keep up the good work!

Melissa, I'll keep you in my prayers

Maria, I keep thinking about the point system for my DD. She is 10 and will be 11 in July. Is it easy to follow? She will watch her meals as long as she has strict guide lines. She is about 130 and 5 foot. She is very broad across the shoulders, and round in the tummy. I worry about her. She is active. She does basketball, Girls on the Run, and right now she is palying a modified volley ball with her friend in the basement. I just don't know what to think, and I don't want to get over the top on it, cuz I have seen it back fire in it's results. Guess we will just see how it all goes. I am a bit worried about DS going to WDW alone, but he and his best bud have been so often, and they will be 18. I trust him, for his is responsible, even if he is still very young about many things. I am just glad that he enjoys Disney, and enjoys participating with family things. He still likes to go and rent a video and make pop corn and sit on the couch with me and watch it. I am lucky, for young men want nothing to do with the mom. His girlfriend thinks I am the coolest. :goodvibes

Melissa, sending you lots of best wishes, and saying lots of prayers! Hope all works out well.

It is the weekend, and well, we have another storm. Yippee! Dona, where are you from? West Michigan can certainly be challenging. Just can't imagine what it would be without the storms of March in Michigan. Blizzard today. Thunderstorms yesterday. And the slush from the last few days is frozen into lumps and hills everywhere, especially at the end of the drive way!

Coasteraddict, very insightful advice. You are right, it helps to reward those successes, no matter how small!

Michelle, I can agree with you on the shopping for groceries. And I always pick the worse time to go--the same time as everyone esle. I seem to do most of the things too. The best benefit about it is that I can keep a tighter riegn on the finances. College is just around the corner.

Jen, I love that thought that with bottled water there isn't any option for pop. I will mention that on those times I am stuck going to the 'kid' friendly fast food joints. I drink at least 2 bottled waters at work, or else I end up with a head ache.

CinRell and Kelly, both of you have a great weekend and positive experiences each day.

Off to get dinner for DD and her best bud. Hoping the weather doesn't get too wild. DH is at work til 10pm and DS is at girl friends. (yet that is only 4 blocks away down side streets).

Great weekend to all. WI is on Monday, and I know we will all see good results.

Wendy

Hi All!

Life is hectic as can be. I have been very busy with the Zetas (group of ladies from the VMK forum), but lost 3 pounds this week! I am at a total of 17.4!

Hello, just a quick post to check in. I am back at school and I have signed up for TGM so I don't have any spare time right now. But I'll always have time to post here :grouphug: Not doing very good and the weight loss front, not losing too much ground but I think we might have a stalemate :sad1: . Oh well, I'm going to the gym again so that has to start helping some.

NikkiBell, way to go on the 17+ pounds!!!!!

I hope you are all having a great weekend.

good morning.

It is so nice reading such success. I hope to add some of my own soon. It has been tough few weeks. I lost 2 pounds last week and seem to put them back on. I haven't really changed my diet but maybe from exercising more. I am working on toning in the gym and wonder if that is why I have gained again.

Well good luck on your weight loss.

And have a great day!

We ended up eating out a few times this weekend, and I made poor choices with my food diet-wise. I ate too much and the foods I ate too much of were high in calories. :scared: Anyway, today is a new day & I'll try to do better this week. I bought a few Lean Cuisines and some good looking plums for my lunches for the next few days.

Good Monday Morning Everyone

Monday is a new day. Time to make better choices and to make a turn around and get back on track.

I am still coughing and blowing my nose. I took my last antibiotic last night. If I am not better by Wed I will call my doctor and see about getting something else.

The play went well. I saw it on Sat night. One more weekend to go. We have a rehersal on Thursday, a performance on Friday and two on Sat and then on Sunday we start to take it apart. At least we have a couple of nights off before we start again.

I haven't gotten back to exercising but I am hope some time this week. My eating has been pretty good since I can't smell or taste anything what's the point of eating.

Have a great day everyone.

Hello All!

Just a quick 'HI' before I go off and run some errands before work.

WI is what it is--at the same as before. I guess it beats a gain. I did indulge a few times with DD learning how to make foods. Of course what she wants to make are deserts! :goodvibes

Will log in tomorrow for any additional updates with reality!

Great job on those losses and hugs to those who need them!

Wendy

Hello all!! Things have been busy for all of us lately, haven't they? It's coming down to the wire for play practice, a band concert and Tri-M inductions this week, I have a yearbook deadline Friday and homework! :upsidedow

I have dinner soon, homework and a room to clean:crazy2:

I should make this quick-hugs, prayers, PD, well wishes, and :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: to all who need them!

Good Morning Everyone!

Just another quick note to say hello to all and sending out good vibes!

Have a great day!

Wendy

Happy Losing Tuesday!

Hi Everyone!

It sounds like there was plenty going on this weekend. I am adjusting to our life in the deep freeze, the temperature dropped 27 degrees here overnight. It's supposed to warm up by the weekend, thank goodness! I don't like wind chill below zero weather!

So, the weekend went mostly well. I had a mini food meltdown Sunday night. The stress got to me, and I got to the Twizzlers...but that's over now. There are none left to eat :rotfl2:

My dad and his wife go home tomorrow, so no more excuses for not doing what I need to. I have actually still kept up with all my workouts even with them here, so that's something.

I did also get on the scale. I was a bit disapppointed. I don't know what my starter weight was, but I'm taking a good guess. So, I think I've lost 7.5 lbs in six weeks. That doesn't seem very impressive, but I think now that I'm being careful with my points, the next few weeks will go better. I really thought I'd lose more working out five days a week, especially since I was working too hard for the first four weeks. My dh says he can see an improvement...I guess it's better than gaining 7 more lbs, right?!

Jen -- I'm so glad you're checking in, even as busy as you are. How are you doing with your eating plan? I know it's hard when things are hectic. :goodvibes

Wendy-- I think the point system is easy to learn. Following it...it sounds like it might be good for your daughter. What I've found is that if I plan out my entire day's food, I do fine. If I wing it with dinner, it seems like all bets are off. I am so glad to hear you are concerned about your dd. My bff has a 7yr. old dd who weighs 90 lbs. She refuses to consider that she might need to do something to help her. Of course, my bff (also named Wendy!) is 5'7 and 220 and thinks she is perfectly healthy, so maybe that has something to do with it. It drives me crazy because the family has a history of heart disease, but if people are not interested in change, you can't help them. Anyway, the point is kudos to you for being a concerned Mom, and not wanting her to develop eating disorders by pressuring her. I know you will be able to work with her to help her make good choices. :thumbsup2

Dona-- I hope you feel much better this week. Don't try to exercise until you really feel well. Or at least be gentle with yourself. :grouphug:

Kelly-- It is a new day and a new week! Those meals are over, now all you can do is look to having a wonderful week right now! :cool1:

Disneynut-- We all know muscle weighs more than fat. Another way to check your progress is to use a measuring tape. I haven't lost many pounds, but I was happy I've lost inches!

Michelle-- How are you doing with school, the gym, the kids...wow, it is amazing you post at all with everything on your plate!princess: I agree about grocery shopping. I am lucky that I can have dh do it most often.

Nikki-- You are having fantastic results! I am thrilled for you. That is an amazing overall loss!:)

Melissa, Coaster, CinRell-- I hope you are having a great week!::yes::

I'll chat more tomorrow, everyone hang in there!
Maria

Hey Maria! School days are much better for me, eating wise, than snow days and weekends because the kitchen isn't open 24-7 and I pay for what I want to eat! Some days I get the main dish because I want it more than I want a salad (like today Tiger Bowls were served...like a KFC bowl only better).

Dinner gets to me still because we eat rather late as everyone is busy and during "heck week" (known as tech week to all others...which did I mention lands on the week of the OGTs...Ohio Graduation Test) I'm going to eat rather late AND I have no say in the menu, but I plan to make the best of it. I'm bringing baby carrots or pretzels and water with me.

Okay, I'mback for a few days. I had a paper due and was unable to be "playing" on the comp this weekend. I have also signed up for TourGuideMike to do a little planning for our trip to the world in August. I want the trip to be easy going and fun for DH, so I thought all the insight TGM has would make it easier to see more with less headache. There is literally gobs and gobs of info on that site, I am up to my knees and trying to wade through it all. I do highly recomend it though :thumbsup2 I'm holding staedy at 178. I would like to lose more, but I'm happy just being in the 170's. I would like to drop to the 160's before DH comes home so hopefully going to the gym 3 days a week will get me down there.

Jen, I also have a problem with dinner. I just eat what the kids are eating in a smaller portion. I try to add a salad, but to be honest, I'm not a "turtle food" fan. It's called turtle food here because whenever I make a salad for myself, I have Nachito give a handful to his turtle.

Maria, 7.5 pounds is good especially with all that weightlifting you've been doing. All the muscle your adding to your body is making you heavier. You should check and see how much you body fat % is and I bet you'll feel better about that.

That's all I have time for tonight, Nachito is waiting for a bedtime story. Good night.

Good Afternoon

Hi Everyone!

I have made it through the family visit, and now I can have my house back. It was only a week, but it was fairly stressful. I ended up missing my bike workout for the first time. I'm going to do it today, since today was supposed to be a rest day. I'm still going to get my 5 workouts in this week.

My eating is coming along. Here's today's plan:

B: cream of wheat and blueberries (3)
L: LC bowtie pasta w/chicken, sugar snap peas, carrots, Jello pudding (5)
S: kashi bar, clementines, cheese stick (5)
D: LC or homemade pizza, green beans (up to 8)
S: GS cookies (whatever's left to get to 23)

DH brought home six boxes of GS cookies yesterday....I decided as long as I point them, and have them at the end of my day, they'll count as my dessert and I can have a limited quantity. I just can't eat a sleeve of Thin Mints like I usually do :rotfl2: :sad2:

I decided to cut back one point based on something I saw about WW changing the way they calculate your points value. Maybe that will spur me over the edge to great weight loss! :woohoo:

Michelle -- I did TGM the last time we went, and found his recommendations for which parks which days to be spot on. We definitely increased our efficiency by following his advice.:thumbsup2

Jen -- Good for you bringing healthy snacks! I'm sure you are feeling great because you are getting some veggies and plenty of water. :goodvibes

Let's get over today and move on to a fantastic weekend!
Maria

Physically, I'm feeling great! Mentally, I feel like somebody has beaten me with a stick. I don't think I'm getting enough sleep. I've NEVER been a great sleeper (except for when I was a little one) because I worry too much! It's like this: "if I fall asleep right now and it's 11:00, I can get 8 hours of sleep. Except I have to pee and I'm thirsty. Are the cats in the house? Did I get all of my homework. Pumpkins! I left my Spanish book at school-if I hurry in I can finish it quickly." Then I want to turn my brain OFF! But in school, I can never seem to turn my brain ON!

*RANT warning: You have walked into a RANT ZONE*
Couple that with pressing yearbook deadlines (as well as taking pictures, downloading pictures, checking copy and captions, and having my own stuff done...with a 2 hour delay like today, that's 25 minutes to do what I need), the Big Tests to study for next week, and play practice, I don't know if I can handle anything extra! I received my grades for yearbook, and my comment was "needs to work on proofreading skills". Yes- I know that. Yes I know that "we" are having trouble with the flow of copy and Yes I am aware that sometimes I don't quite catch everything that's not in third person past format and Yes I am DEFINITELY aware that all of this is costing me grade points. I really am trying to do the best I can; when I can do better, I surely will. It seems like right now I'm having trouble balancing everything but I love what I do. I swear I will have gray hairs by the time this year is over-but it's a lot coming at me fast.

I needed this rant because I didn't want to blow up when the other shoe drops, but I also didn't want to take it out on the bag of chips in the pantry.

More later: play practice now and upcoming band concert and Tri M inductions.

Hi Ladies!

Things are going well. We have parent-teacher conferences tomorrow and Friday so I am going to be swamped. Work is as busy as ever. We had snow today and my fifth graders were paying more attention to the windows than me. lol.

Hope all is well,

Good Morning!

This is my last post until Monday. I'm out of the office for meetings tomorrow. On the bright side, dh finally ordered our new computer today. It should take about a week, then he has to get his work software loaded, and then I can be online at home!

I'm going for a run when I get home, then I'll have my LC lunch. I had sugar snap peas and a Kashi bar for a snack this morning. I'm so tired, I find I just want to sleep. I think all the stress from last week is catching up with me.

Anyway, everyone have a fantastic weekend, and I look forward to reading all your posts on Monday!

Maria

Today was much better, happy wise. I was also inducted into Tri M yesterday! :)

Meals have been good so far.

Thank you Maria, sounds like signing her up for online WW may work great. She is quite disciplined when it comes to some things, and has no sense of getting it done for others! I know just helping her with making good choices will make a huge difference with her.

Thanks again!

Wendy

.

I needed this rant because I didn't want to blow up when the other shoe drops, but I also didn't want to take it out on the bag of chips in the pantry.

Jen--Of course it is ok to rant, and if not here with your online support group, then who else! We are much easy than a bag of chips!

I am sending lots of good wishes to you and a bit of pixie dust to help with a good nights sleep. (I have had many of those nights, I too worry way too much about things that just don't need any additional thoughts!).

Have a great weekend!

Wendy
