Morning Friends!! :flower:

Sunny and 72 degrees in Chicago today!! :sunny: :cool1: Sending it your way!!

It has not been a great losing week. TOM is looming with in days of invasion and my cravings increase with each day. Doesn't help that I have been in a Preschool Special Needs room and the teacher keeps bringing homemade food like potato cheese peiorgis, polish sausage, pasta salad, and more.......hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm BAD GIRL!!!! :rotfl:

Been stress eating alot - have to learn not to absorb my DD17's stresses.....when she stresses so do I ..........so hard not to feel for your kid.

So I am fighting the bloat right now hoping someone will stick a pin in me and let out all this water.

Will keep hanging in there and fighting the battle of the bloat!!

Shellbelle - Woo Hoo for you!! Bet 149 looks really good on you!! Keep checking in with us - you are a motivating force!! :Pinkbounc

Debra - Like the idea of three small bites for dessert!! Thanks for the tip. What is the Weigh Down Diet Book? Never heard of that one......always looking for a new source of inspiration.

Tara - Did you get some healthy groceries? Stay away from the candy!!! Keep thinking about how good you looked in that bridesmaid dress!! You can do it!!

Regina - so glad - no headaches for a week......I get them alot around TOM and it is miserable. Hang in there!!

Kathy - Congrats on staying away from the candy jar at work - You are doing so GREAT with exercise !!! Keep Going!!

Puppy is commanding my attention!! :dog: To the rest of my friends.......KEEP MOVING AND LOSING!! :cheer2: :grouphug:

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

I would like to join the 150 club as well .....I need to get to 145 but if I make it to 150 I may stop...lol I will just be happy getting to 199 in all honesty :cool1:

Good Morning!

Here's my grateful thought for today: I'm grateful that other than being overweight, I don't have any physical problems that prevent me from working out. My blocks are all mental -- which means I can work through them and kick some weight to the curb!

Yesterday was go-go-go for me. We had an audit of one of the funding sources in one of our housing projects in the morning, and I had to attend a funding announcement in a small, humid room in the afternoon. This morning I have a walk-through with contractors who want to bid on some work we are having done in another house (I'm there because we are using some federal funding, and so we have to make sure it is a fair and competitive process), and hopefully I will have time to stop in the office before I call it a day. This afternoon I'm hoping to get back to FLYing, and pick up some of our online Christmas purchases. We send gifts to Arizona for my dh's family & Florida for my family, so I like to get those out of the way so I know they will arrive in time. So far here is my eating plan:

B: Raisin Bran Crunch w/milk
MS: Kashi bar
L: soup w/Ritz 100 calorie, yogurt
AS: apple & babybel
D: baked haddock, oven fries & green beans
ES: hot tea and Sandies or PB 100 calorie pack

Plus, I plan to get my treadmill time in. I've done it for the last two days, so I plan to do today and then take a break, then back on Saturday. Putting 3 days together is going to be a big accomplishment on my road back to healthy living! :goodvibes

I have to run to get to my walk-through, but I'll read and send more messages later!

C'ya Real Soon!

We have BEAUTIFUL weather here too! I love it!

Linda, the Weigh Down Diet book is a Christian/Bible based way of looking at losing weight. It really isn't a "diet", but more or less thoughts and considerations of how our bodies really are made in a way to tell us when to stop eating and what we need if we listen to the signals. Also that we need to take care of our bodies, that is one of our responsibilities--taking care of our physical bodies, but still enjoying the wonderful things we have on this earth (like chocolate---and that is where the comments about having 3 bites that you savor and enjoy came in--not that the bible says you can only eat three bites, it is the author saying that she has found that once she has had 3 bites of something good and really taken time to taste it and enjoy it, she usually is satisfied and doesn't NEED to have anymore and she has tried to teach herself to stop at that point---good in theory and I do try to practice it but of course I don't always follow through with that plan).

WELL..........
I have NOT done with with this candy in the house! Today is a new day. I have been TERRIBLE for three days now and I need to get back on track. So far today I am doing well and I have a PLAN--so I am going to see if I can get back on program.

We only have THREE weeks from today until Thanksgiving! Come ON Girls! We can do this! Let's makes some headway over the next 3 weeks so we are ready to face that holiday!

Debra

You asked for it! Here is a picture of DH picking me up!

Welcome TiffAnn and Shellibelle!!!

Today was not a very good eating week...pizza and lots of snackies...not too good.

I did have cheerleading. We lost our captain, who was a drama queen and downright rude. But I practiced hard!!!

Marching band is over, cheering starts, yay!!!

Water was good too!!

Debra-WOW. What a testament!!!

You CAN do this, digiMom!! I believe in you!

NO SCHOOL TOMORROW! Yay! And I am going to an "end-of-football" bonfire thing on Sat...I can do this!

My day didn't go as planned. i need to get alot of work done but keep getting sidelined by phone calls and interruptions. It will be nice when I can set a schedule and actually stick to it.

Did not get my 40 min walk in today. Left work at 3:15 for hair appt, picked up Erin, went for massage, ate supper at mall, stopped at Wal-Mart and finally got home at 9 PM. It feels like I accomplished nothing. The massage was :cloud9:

Need to zoom to bed as I need to be at the office by 6:30 tomorrow AM to pick up stuff to go to a clients.

WOWZERS!!!!

DEBRA!!!! WHAT A HOT MOMMA!!!!! Oh my gosh!!! Don't you think that losing down to where you're at makes you feel (you sure look) a lot younger???? Heck, you look like a babe in that picture!!! And look at how proud your dh is!!! I think that picture is for the books!!! I highly encourage you to post that picture on the main WISH page and put a title of something like "ONE OF MY Losing GOALS MET!!"...share how much you've lost and in how long and let the picture speak for itself!!! You certainly have remotivated me!!!

I was doing soo well, Monday-Wednesday, don't know what happened but today was a bust...have NO NO groceries...had builder coming over with subs to fix a bunch of stuff so couldn't leave...so dh had to get breakfast for us at McDonald's! I was decent and had egg/sausage/biscuit/orange juice...but that half cinnamon roll through me over my calorie counting ability...just figured I'd slimfast the next two meals...but not a convenient day for that...for lunch we picnicked at a park after art/latin lessons...so ran to Walgreen's for a lunchables...just 4 cheese/crackers and water but for dinner I had Mama fu's chicken and rice...TOO MUCH EATING TODAY!!! I was so tired, I fell asleep on the couch and now it's after midnight and I need to get my jammies on and make this day officially over. Seeing Debra's photo has helped me get back into a losing frame of mind...will walk tomorrow and plan my day of eating better. AND WILL BUY GROCERIES SOMEHOW!! We're doing a community service project at a home that need food donations so I HAVE to have the kids bring non-perishables..and we have NONE at our house so I HAVE to shop tomorrow!

TiffAnn!! Welcome!!! Come on, I've been where you're at...heck, I've been beyond where you're at and it seems daunting...but look forward to some wonderful milestons!!! That one pound you've already knocked off shows that you can LOSE and before you know it you'll be celebrating being in Onederland!!!!! Then wearing a size pants that you bought for inspiration, they'll soon be loose on you!!! Then hitting all those glorious clippie exchange marks!!! It's a beautiful thing I tell you!!! And celebrate each week by thinking that this is the last week for you to see that number...each new week by just changing 1 or 2 things can leave you feeling stronger, more energetic and ready to take on all that those great kids can pass up to you! By the way, I homeschool and know how hard it can be to find exercise time when they're with you most the day...take it slow and just start adding things in as you can. Before you know it, you'll be knocking on GOAL's door like Debra...doesn't she look GREAT!!! :) You won't regret it, it may be tough, but you can do it!! And we're here to help you make it happen! :)

Kathy...let's commit to making this day work for US!!! Instead of the day working us! :)

Jen...you are soo close to your 30 pound goal!!! I'm so tickled to see you hit that marker!!! Keep up the GREAT work encouraging everyone...you're a cheerleader that won't stop cheering....and in today's hectic pathways...that's a wonderful thing!!!

Off to sleep again!! Just had to buzz in so I can recommit to a better morning! :)

Tara

Morning and HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!

:sunny: :cool1: :sunny:

DD21 is coming home for a visit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She hasn't been home since August (I did go down to see her last month :goodvibes )..........the high school variety show is this weekend and she used it as a good reason to come home. Yes DD17 is involved with the V Show.

Yesterday the day worked me over and then some :teeth: I was in a medically fragile special needs room working one on one with a blind 70lb 5 year old who can't take more than 4 steps (with assistance). He doesn't feed himself or speak more than maybe 5 words. Very rewarding work but very very tiring. His favorite way of communicating is screaming and to placate him is music. He peed through his pullups and clothes 4 times in 4 hours........very hard lifting 70 lbs that does not cooperate.....feeling the ache today. Too funny :rotfl: :rotfl: watching me feed him. He only likes yogurt so you give him a spoon of yogurt and then the race is on to try and slip real food past his lips. The food was flying!!!!!!!!!!! The teacher ended up placing a garbage can liner over me like a poncho!!!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Cute kid - when he laughs he laughs so loud that the whole room shakes :goodvibes :rotfl:

Back and arms are hurting today...........plus he fought me so long with his lunch that I really didn't have time for mine so I was starvinnnnnnnnnnnnnnng and ate anything in sight. Hoping for better results today. :cheer2:

Tifann - WELCOME!! Came to the right place!! We are all in this together........ :grouphug:

Debra - :jumping1: :jumping1: What a GREAT Picture..........you gorgeous thing you.........Congrats on all your achievements. :flower: :flower:

Tara and Kathy - I am joining you!! Make the day work for us!!

Maria - My blocks are definitely mental!! Sometimes I think it would be easier if I had a lobotomy :teeth: Come we can do this together!! Let's pledge to have a LOSING DAY!! :cheer2:

Time to get the day going!! Enjoy everyone!!

FYI!! The Fine Arts Department chair's daughter has just been hired through the Disney College Program to play either Chip or Dale starting in January!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc So exciting!! DD21 is planning on interviewing in March for the next session..........

Have a Magical Disney Day!! ::MickeyMo
Linda

Linda!! :goodvibes How wonderful that that little guy has YOU!! I had to admit seeing you with a garbage bag gave me a giggle! Look on the good side, didn't all that food flying make you not so hungry? I'll be saying a special prayer for you that he enjoys his food and will eat without the flying effects! :) YAHOO on your daughter coming home....my 7 year old just woke up and snuggled for a few minutes...I'm gonna cry when that stops happening! I tell them I can snuggle until they're old and gray! :)

Finished my walk...not so bad outside 50 degrees...now need to talk sweet hubby into getting some skim milk so we can have cereal...must make grocery run today...I went to bed at 12:30 after my first round of sleep on the couch, but I could not go to sleep until about 2:30 then woke up at 5:30 for the walk...ugh WHERE's a coffee machine when you need it???

Making this day work for ME!!! :)

Tara

Thanks everyone! After I posted the picture I realized that I was wearing an XL T-Shirt that I still had from last year, so I am covered up quite a bit. I like the bigger T-shirts because they are longer. The smaller ones are short and I am a tall person (5'8" tall) and I don't like it when the shirts go up in the back.

I may just have to post another picture for you guys. I had another goal that I think I MAY be able to do now. A year ago one of my DDs asked me to put on my wedding gown to show her. Well a year ago I laughed when she said that and I remember saying to her, "Honey, I was 22 when I got married and I will NEVER be able to wear that dress again." Well I was thinking of pulling it out and giving it a try. So I 'may' have another picture to show you guys *IF* if fits.

Linda: Wow! You are so SUPER! What you are doing for that little boy is priceless and I am SO glad that God put people like you on this earth! I just do not have the patience for something like that, but I am so impressed with those of you who can do things like that. I was watching Dr. Phil and there was a mom on there with her child who is somewhat retarded and she has a brain disorder that causes her to eat all the time. The mom is at her wits end, and isn't handling it well. I had to admit that I wasn't sure how well I could handle a special child as a single mom (I have trouble enough dealing with all of my kids issues and I have the support and assistance of a wonderful husband!).

So Linda, I just wanted to say, Bless You! I hope you have a great day.

Jen: Have fun on your day off! We have nice weather here, hope you have a good day too. We have had 2 nice days while the girls have been in school and then tomorrow when they are home it is suppose rain! Go Figure! Oh well, we have movies on reserve at the library to watch.

Does anyone know what is going on with Lisa? Haven't heard from her in awhile have we? Or am I just forgetting?

Well, off to run errands.
Debra

Linda: ! Sounds like a challenge, but you made it! I am so glad that kiddo has you...and I can imagine me in your place sometimes at the Brat Kids house wearing a trash bag all the time...ay yi yi!!!

I think I'm going to keep the day relatively low key (thanks Debra). But there's something in me that says "Drink your water!!! Eat really well today!!! Exercise! Jen, you can DO it!!!" I'll probably follow that plan.

*I did 15 minutes of yoga, and 5 minutes practicing cheers and splits. I think I'll do tennis and jumps today! It's gonna be beautiful!

Kathy:  Been there, done that, bought the tee shirt...take a little time for yourself. I'm glad you got the massage!

Hugs all!!!!

Well, yesterday went better than I thought. I took the girls to Wendys because they got Frosty coupons at Trick or Treat. What can I say. I love them too. But I took one of their small ones in exchange for a regular size Frosty.

Well, as promised, I tried on my wedding dress today. I got it on. I had to tug a little on the zipper, but it went up and I got it on!!! Here is a picture:

PB050016.jpg

I actually have not had that on since my wedding day in 1982! Can you believe it! My girls go such a kick out of that! AND they were quite impressed that I could fit into it (there is NOTHING like hearing your DD say, "Mom, you are beautiful!" :goodvibes ).

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I have my carrots and Philly Swirls to get me through the next two days.

Talk with you later!
Debra

Wow, Debra!!! That's great!!

Gain today. Why? TOM is here! ugh...what a party crasher!!

Bye, guys...I have to go work on math!

Jen,
Are you going to Disney World for Christmas? I just noticed your ticker. Oh, I wish I could go! We went in December last year, but we are going over spring break this year, so I have to wait until March.

Have fun with your math (yeah, right? ;) ).
Debra

Yeah, I am!

Actually, I have been stalling on the math because I despise it. I am supposedly doing Spanish..."looking up principle exports of Guatamala"...DISin' is more fun!!!!

Thanks for noticing Debra!

Jen, have you been there before at Christmas? It is SOOOO beautiful! Make sure to see it snow on Main Street one night. That was really neat!

We have been at Disney the last two years for the holiday season, but we wanted to stay home for Christmas this year. We need to cut down on our travel expenses too (the girls are getting more expensive as they get older and become involved in more and more activities), so we are just going to go to Florida once a year. Right now we are planning for spring break for 2006 and 2007. Maybe after that we will think of going back for the holidays again.

Hope you have a great trip and make sure to give us a report when you get back!

I think you must be the next in our little 'club' to be heading to Disney.

Is anyone else going soon?

Debra

This will be our very first trip. Ever. We are SO psyched!! We got our HCoE tags...next to come are the Magic Express.

And you can bet I will give trip reports!

Oh My!!! Jen, you have never been to Disney before? Wow! I thought everyone on these boards had been over and over again!

Oh you are going to have such a great time! I had a friend go for the first time this summer and it was so neat to hear her talk about how great it was. In fact, it was SO funny, she called me from the Haunted Mansion! I actually talked to my friend WHILE she was riding in the Huanted Mansion! It was TOO funny. All of my 'talk' about what a great place it is just paled in comparison to the real thing.

Since it is your first time you will have SO much to see and do. The holiday decorations are so beautiful!

I am so happy for you! Make sure you allow yourself to enjoy some of the good food also. WDW has many great restaurants, and there are so many good things to eat! So have fun, and ENJOY!

Debra

DEBRA!!! Oh you're absolutely GLOWING in that wedding gown!! I think you are beaming more now than you were on that day (ya know with nerves and stuff!)...Aren't you just thrilled??? Okay, that does it...I'm all in for trying on my wedding dress at 145 pounds...I might try it at 150 but it'd be tight. You are soo inspiring!!

I don't know what's up with my email...I'm supposed to be on instant alert when someone posts here...so then I know to read it and respond...but I'm getting no alerts. Gotta figure that out.

Well, it's official all chocolate is out of the house...so long Halloween candy...I ate WAY TOO MANY this week...those mini's are deceiving! But I did walk 16 miles this week so hopefully they cancelled each other...now it's off to lower numbers! :) I feel so bloated!

Jen..you are going to have a BLAST at Disney world!! I wish we could all be there with you! My FAVE rides are 1. Splash Mountain 2. Thunder Mountain Railroad 3. Haunted Mansion 4. Soaring 5. and I really like the new Philharmagic thingie. ENJOY yourself!!! It's hard to believe it's so soon! :)
