Today was supposed to be a rest day. I went to get the paper after working about 3 hours this morning and discovered the temp was in the 70's. Could not pass up on going for a walk. I don't imagine we will get very many more 75 degree days.

Here is a link to some pictures I took today. They were taken at Green Lakes State Park. The trail around the lake is 2.3 miles. It took DD2 and I 40 min to walk it. Would have been faster but needed to stop and take pictures. http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2117913318 DD1 said she had to sign up to view the photos but then she got 20 free pictures for doing it. I tried to show the real color of the lake. The wind rippled the water so it's green color didn't show very well. It is a glacial lake which is 197 feet deep and does not turn over like most lakes. It is always cold no matter what the air temp.

Eating today was not great and neither was water.
B - healthy heart honey almond bar
L - Charlies chix philly sandwich and french fries, reg cherry pepsi
S - 2 bisquits and diet caffeine free soda

I don't think I came close the the number of calories I need. :guilty: :guilty:

Yesterday was much better water wise. I drank about 70 oz of water throughout the day. After work, I walked 3.54 miles in 56 min. If I can keep that pace up for the whole 13 miles, I will not be swept and will earn my Donald medal.

Good morning all fellow losers. Let's make today a losing day.

Have to get to work. I will check in later.

Morning Losers!! :sunny:

Tara

I will add:

6. Rockin Roller Coaster at MGM

7. Test Track at Epcot

8. Safari at Animal Kingdom

9. Little Mermaid show at MGM

10. Buzz Lightyear at Magic Kingdom

Well, if it is your first time, you just have to do EVERYTHING! :rotfl:

Christmas is VERY crowded. It felt like wall to wall people at Magic Kingdom. Try to go in when the gates open and it get as much as you can at the start before the parks fill up.

Also, for the Holidays, I will add:

11. The Osbourn lights at MGM

12. The Country Bear Holiday show (they change the show in this attraction just for the holidays, so you won't see it any other time of the year).

Would you like us to plan out your itenary? :rotfl2:
OK, can you tell I like to live through others who are going to WDW. I just love it there (probably why we became Disney Vacation Club members), and can't wait to go back!

Try to get some digital pictures and upload them for us to see you there!

Tara: I know you will get into your wedding dress too! It really was neat. BUT the neatest part for that night, after the kids went to bed, DH just out of the blue said, "You looked JUST like you did in 1982 in that wedding dress." and I just laughed and said, "Oh, you are sweet, but I'm afraid I look a lot older." and he said in the most sincere voice (and he is a quiet guy and doesn't tend to say things like this), "No really. You REALY did! I was surprised, but it was like I was looking at you again on our wedding day. You looked beautiful in that dress."

OK, I melted! THAT made all of this work over the past 10 months worth it!

So girls, hang in there. At Weight Watchers we had a saying:

Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels.

This weekend, I have to say, that statement never was truer!

It really is worth all the hard work. I am still trying to get off that last 5 pounds, and it is going slow. Not because I am cheating a lot (well I did have Halloween candy, and like you, Tara, mine is FINALLY all gone as of last night), but because as you get closer to your goal weight it is harder to lose (but being a WW leader in the past, I already knew this would happen--I am just trying to get to my goal weight by January 1st so it will be 'official' that I kept my New Years Resolution for the first time EVER).

Well, gotta go have breakfast and get ready to go to DD's school. I am volunteering in the library this morning.

Later Losers! :grouphug:
Debra

TOM is wreaking havoc. My whole house computer hard drive crashed. What a lovely day it's been.

But seriously, it has been a pretty good day. I don't know what lunch time kills me more: at home (portion size=big) or at school (not good food choices!!)

B: egg with turkey and 2 slices toast with grape jam (6)
L: chicken sandwich and salty fries. Thanks TOM (11)

My friends all think I am cuckoo for planning the trip! But then again, they are requesting me to plan their vacations too!!

Debra-I am going to enjoy all the food, trust me!! I read a bunch at home...so my friends came up with a list of things for me to do while I'm there (Like no reading, eating popcorn, getting a Mickey hat, riding all the rides etc.) It should be good.

As I said, my computer crashed, so I'd give you my itinerary if I could still access it. Thank goodness I printed it out!!!!

I am so totally taking as many pictures as I possibly can, digital or otherwise...so I can get a good disney fix here at home!! When I get home, they are going straight into the Photobucket account!! YAY for digital cameras!!!

(All the rides mentioned were on the list. You guys are good!!)

Be back in a little while. I'm going to check on a few things more, then buckle down and start in on the scads of HW given to me!!

Hey gang!!!

Started out with good intentions, eggs/bacon/snack was low fat wheat thins and one slice cheese, lunch was turkey sub (1/2 bag of Doritos and 2 chocolate chip cookies!!)...was going to slimfast for dinner but had to cook some chicken and it was soooo yummy!!! So I had green beans/chicken/rice for dinner...just not a losing day.

Recipe for GREAT baked chicken!!!
I had 5 thighs but you can use anything....
Preheat oven to 375...put chicken in baking dish...throw together 1 cup dry white wine/italian parsley/2 cloves garlic/lemon zest/lemon juice/1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes/1 tablespoon basil...salt pepper chicken pour 1/4 cup olive oil over it then throw the white wine mix over it. Bake covered for 40 minutes then uncovered for 15...most tender flavorful chicken!!!

Okay...will do better tomorrow!!!
Tara

Morning Losers!! :flower:

Still sending nice weather east from Chicago. Today partly cloudy and 64 degrees...........makes me wonder what the winter is going to be like. :cold:

I am SOOOOOOOOOOO excited - TOM has come to visit.... :rotfl: I know you think I am crazy but most of my ailments happen right before TOM comes.....once he is here life gets better. Just a slight headache this morning but the bloating is starting to disappear.

Today will be a better losing day.........the salty cravings are not as strong :Pinkbounc

Today watching the portion control and upping the water to try and get rid of the bloat.

I am subbing in a special needs 3/4 yr old preschool room for the last several mornings. I am the teacher assistant and it has been interesting. The teacher and I have different approaches and I have to bite my tongue alot. I feel kids (cute as they are) need routine and perimeters to follow. Not that they won't test the limits and that is why there are limits...........she believes that they are too young to except limits........don't know how long I am in there - thank goodness it is just mornings........but it has been an experience. :teeth: :teeth: This afternoon I am the librarian at a different school........welcome break. :goodvibes

Tara - What a great recipe!! Plan on using it - THANKS!! :bounce:

Jen - SPLASH MOUNTAIN!!! My FAVORITE ride!! Also have to have Dole Pineapple Float - THE BEST!!!! What hotel are you staying at?

Puppy calls :dog2: :paw: time for the "morning business" :sunny:

Everyone MAKE IT A LOSING DAY!! :grouphug: :cheer2:

Have a Magical Disney Day!! ::MickeyMo

Yesterday was a good day for me, but today won't be (I'm sure). I am going to a dinner for my DD's band. Actually I am sort of excited because it will be the first time ever I have seen/heard her perform since she has joined the band! I am sure I will be eating there, and if the dessert look too good to pass up....well.....I probably won't pass them up. BUT tomorrow will be a new day.

Hey, I found a new food item at the store that I really like (but it is not cheap). Campbell's has a new line of soups calle 'Gold Label' and I got the Golden Butternut Squash soup and we loved it! I would never have tried this soup on my own, but on the Disney Cruise we got it and DH and I both really liked it, so when I saw this in the stores I had to get it. I was surprised that it only had 90 calories per servings and ther are 2 servings in a container (it comes in a gold box instead of a can). That means it is only 180 calories for the whole thing! BUT it was $2.49 at Walmart, so it isn't cheap soup.

Maria: Did you like the Philly Swirl bars? If anyone else wants to try them, they are only 10 calories per bar if you get the Sugar Free and they come in variety box with the flavors: Orange Cream, Paradise Punch, Hurricane, and Cotton Candy (this is my favorite). I get these through out the day when I just feel I 'need' something sweet.

Well, laundry calls! Today is a 'housework' day. :guilty:

Later!
Debra

Good Morning, Ladies!

And how are we this fine, crisp Autumn day? Here's my eating plan:

B: skipped - whoops!
L: 98% FF Campbell's select clam chowder, Ritz 100 cal, yogurt
S: apple & Babybel
D: beef stew and reduced cal dinner roll
S: popcorn & Cadbury dark chocolate truffle

Still not really getting the exercise back yet. It will come eventually. My house is spotless, though. I really think I have to get my home in order first. I can't seem to let myself work on me unless I'm happy with my surroundings and think I've taken care of my family.

Loving the Body Clutter book, though. Lots of great advice about doing just the opposite -- taking care of you so you can take care of your family. I just have to get it through my thick head! :rotfl:

Debra -- You look absolutely breathtaking in your wedding dress! That's a photo to keep forever. I do like the Philly Swirls. I haven't been writing them down in my meal plans, but I do keep eating them... :goodvibes I think hurricane is my favorite flavor so far. I did get the sugar free, and I think they're delicious. :bounce:

Linda -- Hi! Wow, you have had some challenging work the last few weeks. TOM will be here for me tomorrow, so I feel your lightening of pain. It is true for me as well, once he's here the cravings go away, and I'm not an emotional basket case. You should feel so good about what you do. Making a difference in the life of a child, especially one with special needs, really is important. :teacher:

Tara -- Like you, I'm having good days and less than stellar ones. It's so tempting to just say I'll start working on weight loss again in January -- but I know how that always turns out. It's better to just keep trying, because I'll definitely weigh less than I would if I wasn't trying, even if I'm not seeing exciting losses on the scale. :grouphug:

Kathy -- I know that Donald medal is in your future! You really are an inspiration the way you keep exercising, even through your recovery. Awesome job! :cheer2:

Jen -- Don't forget Space Mountain! I don't like to go really fast, but I love the darkness, it's just the right level of thrill for me. I think vacation planning is one of the best forms of relaxation. I love looking forward to the future! :flower:

Today I'm grateful that the biggest loser is on tonight. I could use a little boost in my resolve!

C'ya Real Soon!
Maria

Space and Splash are definitely on there!!!! I have to experience the Mountains!!! Oh yes!

We will be at Pop Century! Yay for Pop Century!!

I have been bitten by this freak cleaning bug!!!!!!! I mean not shove-everything-in-the-closet-or-under-the-bed, but actually clean clean. I must be coming down with something; it IS Jen's Allergy Season after all.

The chicken recipe sounds delish!!!!

My eating day was pretty good! Check it out!!

B) egg with honey ham, apple (4)
L) baked potato (1)
S) tortilla chips (13 Tostito Scoops) 3, salsa (0), 2 apples (2), 10 Lays Cheddar and Sour Cream chippies! (3) <--for some reason those didn't taste very good.
D) I don't know...I'm in a salad mood tonight...

Exercise: 0 yet...
Water: 8 ounces I believe.

Today's been a very good day. Food's been kept in check, even with that little snackie oops!

And I think TOM is gone...yay!

I miss ALIVE today-the people, the concerts, the SUN!!!, the fun, the beach, the talks-didn't think I ever would. Those who have never been there won't understand. "Once you get a taste of something delicious, you can't ever go back to the same old stuff..." I can't imagine life without ALIVE now! I grew so much as a person there...I became a more independent me. I liked myself there (realized that I don't like bathing suits), but I could be a real person instead of the person I am during the school year!!!!!!!! (aka: the smart girl who needs a vacation and is getting one!!!)

Jen,
Pop Century is a cute resort. We stayed there a month after it opened and my girls really liked it. Take some time to go through the hallway and look at the items they have on the wall across from the check in desk. Some of us would recognize them from our childhoods, but you can see them as historic :rotfl: .

They had tye-died cheese cake when we were there, and that was fun (I love cheese cake--gee, I think about food a lot, probably why I am on WISH :confused3 ).

You are going to have a blast!
Debra

Hello
been MIA for awhile here--very busy, computer semi-crash, & just not much progress, but have lost another 2 lbs! I have been very good--all that SWA talk of fatties having to buy another seat & you can see from our ticker, not much longer, now! :cloud9:
will check in when I have more time, & Wow! great photos! :flower:

Jean

GOOD MORNING FELLOW LOSERS :wave::wave:

Today I am going to start over keeping track of my food and water consumption. Haven't been doing too good the last few days. Don't really take time to eat (eat while working) so I have not been eating the best foods.
Tonight should be the last night I have to work at home also.:banana:

Had a session with my personal trainer. Finally got clear by the surgeon to start strengthening the shoulder. Have to take it easy but can start doning weights to build muscle to burn fat.

Will check in later to list food eaten and water consumed. Biggest goal for today is NO soda. That will probably be harder than eating healthier. :rotfl::rotfl:

Here are a couple pictures from my Sunday walk. The first picture is a fress water reef in the lake. The second is part of the trail around the lake. The lake is a glacial lake and is 197 ft deep. The depth plunges at the edge of the reef. The color of the lake is really green but these pictures don't show it. Erin's camera did a much better job with the lake color.

Morning All!!

Kathy - Love your pictures!! Looks very serene :flower:

Off for another famous college visit - University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point Wisconsin.........4 hours north of Chicago......last one I hope :rotfl2:

Will be back on Saturday..........keep moving and losing!!

Have a Magical Disney Day!!
Linda

Kathy: Loved the pictures! It looks so beautiful there!

Linda: Have fun on your trip (well try to anyway :) ).

Maria: Any good tips from Body Clutter you would like to share with us? I am always up for hearing new ideas.

Last night I did alright at the Band dinner. I gave my bread to DH and I took the smallest piece of dessert that was sitting out (and it was yummy!).

Just got back from the store with more carrots and yogurt to get me through the day.

This is a dreay day, and that makes it harder for me to stay on program. BUT 2 weeks from tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I keep telling myself that I need to stay good for the next two weeks so that on Thanksgiving I can really indulge! I picked up some canned yams this morning. I suppose it is time to start thinking about what I need for cooking that day (I do all the cooking--don't know how that happened, each year I threated DH that I am leaving him and he can cook for his parents while I go to my sisters for the day! So far, I haven't bailed, only threatened to do it).

Later,
Debra

Kathy!! I love those pictures...if I were up there with you I'd be walking with you everyday!!! That's my kind of walk! And I agree one of the posts you didn't get the calories, try making a salad to keep in the fridge..keep lots of your favorite salad toppings (sunflower seeds, raisins, onions, throw in some spinach leaves, pineapple, cheese, boiled eggs) and just make a good meal with lots of fresh foods in it. It takes time..but once you've got things stored in their own containers...it is easy to throw a salad together!

Everyone is looking like they're making this day a losing one!!! I am TOO!!! Yesterday, we took the kids (another family and ours) on a nature trail...It was a 2 mile trail but it took us 2 hours!!! It was straight down a mountain and then straight up across boulders and rocks....oh my...my back is so tight from using my knees hopping down and up all those rocks...I'm not a little girl anymore...my kids did great, though...and even a 3 year old made it...which AMAZED me!!! I'm sticking to flat trails from now on! :) But afterwards we surprised the kids with a Sonic stop for ice cream...I indulged in a coke float but only drank the coke and left the ice cream...still not good...but OH I so needed it after the hike that would never end.

I'm about to have my cheerios and start this day right!!!

Tara

I think I did a REALLY REALLY REALLY good job today! even with double snacks!!!

B: egg with ham, 2 apples (I am on this HUGE apple kick right now!!!) 4
L: breadsticks with tomato cheese sauce (uck.) 5
S1 pre cheerleading: 2 apples, ham and cheese sandwich (5)
S2 post cheerleading: 1 apple, chips and salsa (13 or 14 Tostito Scoops) and salsa (4)

Too many apples eaten today!!!!!

I worked my butt off at cheerleading. Stretching, two different jump circles featuring about 5 jumps each, many many cheers, two herkies-into-splits (one of which hurt my ankle a little bit. No permanent or any kind of damage done!), dances, sink it cheers (which we never actually finished), and our GO ONE's! GO ONE's are little chants we do when the starters are announced. I learned a lot!!!

"Go ONE (*note: the one will be switched with names when we get a roster!) Go ONE GO!" We do this four more times. We end with GO TIGERS, GO FIGHT WIN! TIGERS.

Scrapbook switchup in the near future soon...ASA we get a roster!

And homework...and clarinet solos tomorrow! Yayness.

Gotta go!

_Wait!!! Thanks for the comments on POP, Debra! It's appreciated! And i absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE cheesecake!!! Thanks for the tip!

Eating today was somewhat better, not great but better.

B - 3 eggo cinnamon toast waffles
S - banana and 2 caramels
L - large salad w/ham, cukes, peppers, celery, hard boiled eggs, mushrooms, carrots, red cabbage and very light italian dressing.
S - 2 caramels, 8 tootsie roll midgees
Su - 6" chix tender sub w/provolone, diet caffeine free pepsi.(Actually only ate roll and cheese with one tender, ate the other 2 by themselves)
Water - 64 oz. Didn't make goal of no soda, but only having one instead of 2 or 3.

Worked almost 12 hours today so I didn't bring any work home. Auditors gave me an extra day or I would still be working. It will feel good to get this project completed. Have to have the preliminaries for 2 corp year ends done by next Thursday. Thanksgiving week I have 2 days of income tax seminars. It's almost that time of year again.

Went to the surgeon yesterday for my shoulder. He cleared me to start strenghtening the shoulder and bicep. I will probably get new exercises at PT tomorrow. Now the fun begins. I have to still restrain myself froomnot going all out and ushing too hard too fast to not cause any damage.

Have to figure out something to do tonight as I don't have any office work to do.

Have a great, losing evening.

Happy Thursday!

Just a quick check in. Not feeling my best today. I think something is going around, plus day 2 of TOM.

The concept I'm working on with Body Clutter right now -- I (we all) deserve exquisite care. So in everything, we should be striving to treat ourselves the best -- healthy food, good exercise for our bodies, and showing love for ourselves in our thoughts and actions.

Everybody have a great, losing holiday weekend!

Maria
