TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco is reporting Chris Engen (Adam) shocked the entire Y&R cast by quitting his role in the middle of his contract two days ago. According to sources, the newcomer bolted because, "he [allegedly] refused to kiss [his same-sex] co-star Yani Gellman [Rafe]. Chris hasn't been happy for a while. He doesn't like the dark direction his character is taking. He's called in sick a lot recently and has been taking a slew of meetings with Y&R's [top brass] to discuss his future on the show. Chris is still under contract - and Y&R is seriously thinking of taking legal action." Meanwhile, the No. 1 soap is currently scrambling to recast the pivotal role. I hate this, but I can understand why he'd be upset with his storyline. They've made him beyond evil the last few months. The other things he's done have been redeemable, but going after Ashley because of his hatred of Jack and Victor, knowing how much she wants this baby, is so unforgivable. And how does a gay kiss fit into anything about his character???????? It sounds like the writers are desperate to stick in a gay storyline, even if it doesn't make any sense!

I totally agree- was just reading this to my daughter over the phone and we were saying his character has been all over the board - I still remember when he first came and they made a big deal about him not being a drinker but knowing everything about wine and then two weeks later they have him and Heather going out for dirty martinis.

They keep flip flopping him around and its so inconsistent. I hate that they have made him evil as well. And now making him share a gay kiss with a character he has had a few scenes with that had no underlying "chemistry."

I think the writers are way off track with Adam.

•Nick goes to Jack's, he's looking for Sharon but Jack tells him that Sharon's avoiding him. Jack asks Nick to leave Sharon alone
•Nina works on Katherine's novel being turned into a movie, she wants to show the baby switching and asks Amber for more info on what happened
•Cane and Lily are on their honeymoon, she once again talks about her trust in him as she never thought she could trust another guy
•Billy is in denial about Mac being involved w/ another guy, stating he knew about JT but thinks there's been no one else in Mac's life that she's been serious about. Billy is in for a shock when Raul shows up, him and Mac share a kiss that leaves Billy speechless!
•Sharon is at Cassie's grave when Nick shows up, she tries to leave but he stops her. He brings up the changes that happened after Cassie's death, her prophecy never being able to come true. Sharon spills the beans about her pregnancy, Phyllis overhears

Next - Phyllis spills the beans to Jack about Sharon and Billy's fling, he's pissed; Raul tells Billy he wants to marry Mac; Devon confronts Tyra over them not being related

I hated bringing this news! Chris was one of my favorites! But it looks like this news has been confirmed! He walked!!!

WOW.....Adam/Chris just walked out.....!

Quite frankly, I think it is stupid he has done that to his career....I mean if you are going to be in acting/actor...you are going to have s/l's that you don't necessarily like for one reason or another. So what now, every time he goes to "read" for a character he will have objections to what the character will or will not do..... #1) I will not play a "dark" character #2) I will not play a "gay" character........ They will tell him to "get to steppin"!!!

Don't be an ACTOR.

i agree with the darker parts but if he really you can't force someone to go against their personal belief be it political or religious or just the fact that he does not want to be know as "that gay actor"

some actors can do it others can't.

why not hire a gay actor to play a gay part? why ask a straight actor to play gay?? i never understand that.

OK, today's show made mention of April Stevens. Does anyone think she could be Mary Jo Benson? I thought it would be Patti Williams because of her past connection to Jack and just can't recall April having a connection to Jack at all. Anyone?

I still think its Patty Williams. Actually, I'm more convienced now by the way Mary Jane was acting around Paul. She actually wore dark glasses because she knew that her brother would recogonize her! Plus Mary Jo shot Victor years ago, why would he hire her?

I thought it was funny that when Paul mentioned his ex wife, and she replied with New York being a big town, that he immediately mentioned April. Uh, how many ex wives does Paul have? Cricket, Lauren, the crazy one (Eva Longoria), did I miss one? Why jump straight to April?

I don't think April has a history with anyone on the show outside of Paul's family. I think Patti is the only person that makes sense.

I watched B&B for the 1st time in a long time today, and Brad is so sexy with that beard! He seems to be having fun with the bad boy role. Which Vicki did he 1st hook up with-I can't remember when Heather Tom left Y&R. I thought it was funny when she asked if she knew him.
