Great job at your WI this week. Keep up that great work. Thanks for sharing your scrapbook, how inspirational. Have a wonderful OP day. :thumbsup2

Weighed in this morning, and am down 1 pound for a total of 12.2 since January 29th. So begins another week. :cool1:

thanks!!!

full steam ahead this week...

I think I have finally got the hang of the "satisfied" gauge they talk about in WW...took me this long but something this week has just clicked...

my portions are getting smaller and I am having a couple snacks to boost metabolism, I think this is helping a lot.

I need to get back on the treadmill asap...I was doing up to 4 mi a day....plus doing FIRM 6 days a week but I think I burned myself out quick doing that much right away...

I am lifetime but would like to be a thinner lifetimer by summer!!

so good luck all WW groupies! pixiedust:

Another good week for you, congrat's on your loss since the end of Jan. Keep up that great work.

Down one more pound - taking it slow and steady!

I'm new to this thread - I just joined WW a week ago and am down 4 pounds. I hope this thread will help me keep on track and continue to motivate me. :goodvibes

My weekly meeting was yesterday, Sunday. I lost 1.8 lbs, am am now down a total of 58 pounds. I am now 9 pounds away from my goal. It has so far been 53 weeks. My waist size has gone down from a 44 inch to 34 inch.

I also filled out and handed in the application to become a meeting leader. I'd really like to help others to succeed and I think it will be a good way for me maintain my weight.

I was thinking about any advice I would offer with my posting today. Here's what's worked for me:

  • I never weigh myself. The only place I weigh myself is my weekly meeting. I don't want to become obsessive and it occurred to me that somehow, I was able to not weigh myself the whole time my weight was going up, so why start now. I firmly believe that if my behavior and eating is on track, my weight will be as well.
  • I have faithfully journaled (I use e-tools) everyday except when I was on vacation. Journaling has helped to keep me centered. I have stayed within my daily point range and within my 35 extra points for 51 weeks (I don't count anything on vacation). Therefore even if my weight has gone up on a given week (and it has) I know that my eating has nothing to do with it and it helps me to know that my body will eventually show the loss.
  • My focus has been on normalcy. I try to keep a perspective that all of my behavior should reflect normalcy. So, how have I applied this? When I went on vacation to WDW, I ate exactly what I wanted to eat (I'm happy to report that I simply can't eat the quantities and the greasy food I used to eat, I feel sick and sluggish for days afterwards, so it keeps me in check). I feel it's normal to indulge when on vacation, but it's also normal to return to normal eating. It was very scary the first time I experimented with this back in August. However, after vacation I returned to going to meetings and I returned to counting points. I lost the vacation weight I gained, which is also, normal. I can't tell you how empowering it is to discover that I do have an on/off switch and I can control it.
  • I learned to give in and accomdate my eating patterns rather than fight against them. I'm a night time eater. I always have been, so I save points for night time snacking. I think it's really helped me to understand myself and not try swiming upstream. I can't say how much this one little change has contributed towards my weight loss.
  • Avoiding temptation has been easier this time, because of my "normalcy thing." I'm not tempted by goodies people bring into work, because I know how much I'm going enjoy myself on my next vacation. I don't know, but I find it easier knowing that in a few months I can have some Zebra domes at Boma. It sort of makes the stuff at work become much less important.
  • Finally, the most important thing I've learned is I've learned how to say "no." It was hard, but you know what, after a few times people stop asking, and they stop saying things like "Having just a little bit isn't going to hurt you." After a few times of being told that I think I know best what is going to hurt me, they stop. Another tactic I use if they really insist is, "Would you be pressuring me if I told you that I'm allergic and would have to be taken to the hospital?" Sometimes the only way out is to be heavy handed.
So, I'm sorry I've rambled on. Have a great week everyone!

I think you'll make a great leader, and I personally thank you for your commitment and Congratulate you on your success! :cheer2: Only thing I'd add is, WATER and exercise! :thumbsup2

My update: I lost 1lb this week, bringing me back down and closer to my pre-holiday weight, still within WW range and My range all the while tho! ;)

Congrats to all the LOSERS here! :cheer2:

Iankh,

Congrats on almost making your goal, you must be very excited!! Thank you for your insight on your weight loss, everything you say makes perfect sense. I am not going on my next WDW trip until next year but It is in the back of my mind how I would ever track there. It is good to hear how people have managed on their vacations. Good luck on your last nine and be sure to post when you have made GOAL!! :cool1:

Welcome and congrats on a great start! I also started myself not too long ago and I think this thread is great. Good luck!!!

Iankh, great advice!

I went on vacation this weekend and although I didn't count points and I ate what I wanted, I was pleasantly surprised that my portions were smaller and I naturally gravitated to some healthier choices. I had lost .6 last week and my goal for this week (because of the trip) is to maintain, so we'll see how that goes at my Thurs weigh-in. I plan to stick to the points for the rest of the week.

Welcome knovak! I think you will love WW, I do. Add some moderate exercise if you can and you will see results. I have. Keep coming back over and over to this thread, if nothing else but to see how others have done and you will be encouraged to stick with it!!! :thumbsup2 Send me a message anytime and I will try and answer if I can and support you. I need all the support I can get too! Good luck and congrats on 4 lbs forever gone!

knovak-Glad to have you join us. Way to go on your loss. You will find a lot of inspiration and motivation on this thread. Jump right in and continue posting. :thumbsup2

iankh-WOW, you are so close to goal and have done an amazing job over the past year. You shared some wonderful tips that I’m sure we can all pick up something from. Good luck on becoming a leader, make sure to keep us posted.

KimRaye-Congrat’s on your loss this week. You are doing great maintaining and staying within WW goals. :cool1:

saturday97-It is nice to know that our portions are decreasing isn’t it? It continues to amaze me when we go out and I order something that I did before WW that I can only eat maybe ½ of the meal before I am full and to think that I use to clean my plate. Maintaining sounds like a good plan for the week with the trip but you might be surprised to have lost. :)

DisneyLovingMama-Great WI this week, congrat’s on your loss to date. You’ll be at 15 gone in no time.

I had my WI on Monday but no time to post. I was down another 2 pounds this week which surprised me because I only walked one time last week. I have been journaling everyday which I know helps plus just generally making better choices and planning meals ahead of time.

Keep up the great work everyone. :cheer2:

:thumbsup2 Tammy - Congrats on your loss!! Two pounds is awesome!

iankh - Congrats and thanks for the wonderful advice!! I hope to find that I have a controllable "on/off" switch too!

KimRaye - Woo hoo, to you too!! :cool1:

knovak - Welcome! Keep up the great work!!

saturday97 - Good luck today! Hope you see a loss on that scale - great job with the portions and healthy eating on vacation!

Just wondering who else here is doing Core? I switched last week - is anyone else doing it?

Hi All

Well, I began my ww journey 4 weeks ago. Boy, stepping on that scale was a big reality check. I am 32 years old, married and have 1 beautiful dd princess: . I can't believe that I have allowed myself to get to the weight that I am at. But at least I am doing something about it.

My first weigh-in I lost 7.8 pounds :cheer2:
My second weigh-in I gained .6 pounds
My third weigh-in is tomorrow night. Not sure how well I've done this week. I feel like I did okay. I'm having trouble getting all the fruits and veggies in. I'm good on the water, because that is basically all I drink now.

Anyway, I was hoping to get some support on here. So please feel free to post any advice!!!!!!

Have a great night. :rose:

Wow! This is a fabulous thread! I (re)joined WW tonight (lost 38 pounds a few years ago, put about 21 ( )of it back on. I am excited about getting out of my pair of "fat pants." This thread will be very encouraging between meetings.

Thanks everybody!

Thanks Tammy and Disney loving mama, I am happy to see progress, if not in pants size (yet), at least in a few behavioral patterns!! I'm approaching this as a process and am expecting to make slow changes over time, not do everything perfectly right way. Which seems to be working a heck of alot better than my old method of going great guns for three weeks and then hitting a wall and quitting!!
