Would it bother you to have grocery label soda at a party?

Stop and Shop has their brand soda bottles for 75cents and another store has Coke brand for $1.50 each. I would like to save the money and get the cheaper soda.

Most people I know wouldn't mind a store brand as long as it was lemon lime, rootbeer, orange. People, including myself that I know are picky on the cola brands (coke/pepsi) but not so much the ones listed above. At our potlucks at work, people bring orange, punch, lemon lime, rootbeer with no cola in the off brand all the time.

Wouldn't bother me at all. I actually like Dollar General's brand of Cherry Cola more than Cherry Coke.

I agree. I actually rarely drink soda, but if I did at a party, the brand wouldn't matter to me.

It would not bother me at all to be served grocery store pop at a party, but If I were buying pop for a party, I would buy name brand products because I prefer the taste.

I'm guessing avid coke or pepsi drinkers wouldn't like it but I know some who are very hardcore in their preference. I personally could care less, as I think most people wouldn't care.

I find it helpful to bring markers so people can write their name on their cup.

For smaller gatherings (<15 people) I use carafes of water, I put a slice of lemon/lime/orange in them. I find it to be less wasteful and more environmental.

For flavored sodas- lemon-lime, grape, cream, root beer, I buy store brand all the time. For cola I find the store brand sometimes tastes flat, so I buy the name brand on sale.
This makes me think of parties when I was a kid, my mom used to by the store brand can soda in all different flavors for parties and fill a lined barrel with ice to keep it cold. It was always a treat to reach in, close our eyes and be surprised by the flavor we pulled out. No one cared that it was store brand, it was always a game of "I hope I get black cherry" or "I hope I get cream"

Wouldn't bother me but I don't drink soft drinks. As long as there was water available, and even that wouldn't have to be bottled if there was ice (unless it was somewhere with yucky water like Florida, then just use a Brita pitcher and I'm still fine with tap water).

I think it's fine. I agree with also having water available. Soda is expensive unless you can find it on sale!

Yes, this would bother me. I drink diet soda, and diet soda has a much shorter expiration.

However, I am not a high maintenance guest, if I were coming to your party, if you had either a pitcher of water, or bottles of water, I would drink that instead.
