Worst Attraction and Next to Close

These are in my opinion the worst ride/attractions in all the park . Number 1 is the worst and number 10 is the least worst.
1. Drew Carey sounds stage in MGM
2. Stitch
3. Star Tours (how about the same ride just a newer movie)(it still wouldn'tbe good)
4. Figment at imagination(I love figment but the ride is bad)
5. Country Bears (needs rehab)
6. Ellens universe of energy
7. Maelsrom in Norway
8. Little Mermaid Show
9. Tiki Birds
10. Snow White

I'll probably get flamed but our family still loves disney and just because I think these rides could be changed or rehabbed doesn't mean I'm anti-disney ok?

Other than a cool place to sit on a hot day, Sounds Dangerous doesn't have much of value to offer.

I essentially agree with all of these,except Maelstron. Considering the size of the attraction, I like what it does. It is fun, but not a thrill ride and is unique to WS.

Also, Star Tours could use a re-make.

It's a Small World is my vote. I'm sure I'll have to suffer through it now that I have kids but I'm not looking forward to it.

I have never been on Stitch but I hated AE. I thought it was too scary for little kids but too boring for adults.

Sounds Dangerous was pretty boring.

The "If you had wings" topic really brought me back! I remember seeing that when I was REALLY little - and riding the Wedway Peoplemover!

I think that the worst ride so far has to be Sounds Dangerous. They could if they wanted to turn that entire soundstage into a ride based on the Indiana Jones one in California. It would all have to be underground but that could work like what they did with Dinosaur. They also need to update Spaceship Earth, that ride even though it's a classic needs a new update. I've heard rumors of putting in a rollercoaster type thrill ride for a couple years now.

i'm surprised no one is saying the attractions in the world showcase...such as the norway video...or china, canada, or france.

New videos in Norway and Canada would be good, but I love the France video! No changes to France! China was updated a few years ago, I think it's pretty good.

In my opinion, the worst attractions are Sounds Dangerous at MGM, Imagination at Epcot, Chester and Hester at AK, and the Speedway at MK.

Malestrom shouldnt be touched, but I wouldnt mind if they take out the movie.

I agree with Stitch, I feel bad though, the Imagineers worked hard, its just a shame it mustve been the least creative team in the company. Im all for Mission to Mars to make a comeback, even if its temporary until they come up with a better idea for that space.

I agree with Sound Dangerous, has nothing to offer...not even that funny.

Star Tours could definitely use a new movie.

As for Epcot, Ellen Universe needs a new theme, I like the movies they show and the dinosaur, I just got bored with the whole Ellen @ Jeopordy thing.

I hope Pixar does something with the Wonders of Life pavillion and create a cool 3d interactive type thing.

Annnd I dont think they should touch Figment, I love that ride, even if its cheesy.

Oh, and they need to DEFINITELY replace those tracks inside Spaceship Earth, theyre so ridiculously loud its getting to the point that I have to place my ear ON the speaker to hear what the narrator is saying.

I think the worst attraction at WDW is Sounds Dangerous. However, I do not think it will be shut down anytime soon since, without it, that whole portion of DS will have no attractions (the theater next to SD is closed as well).

At MK, I do not see much changing. Certainly, Stitch will not close (even though it is not a very good attraction). Timekeeper probably will not be replaced anytime soon either - MK is the most attended theme park at WDW and nothing significant (therefore expensive) needs to be done to continue to draw crowds.

In EPCOT, in anticipation of the 25th anniversary of EPCOT in 2007, I understand that the movies in France and Canada will be updated, and the Mexico boat ride will be changed to include Donald Duck. These will be welcome changes. Replacing Wonders of Life pavilion will take several years - if it is ever replaced. Look how long it took to build TT and MS, AND I do not think that any attraction at other Disney themeparks would readily fit in EPCOT FW (like Soarin does).

Overall, with the 50th anniversary coming to an end and the building spree that WDW has gone through (EE, Soarin, Lights Motor Action) at the parks other than MK, I do not see too much changing for a while.

Oh, I also hope they do something with Winnie's playground, I mean its cool and all but people arent going to WDW to play at a playground whether its Winnie's or not! I was hoping they can do a 'walk through' type attraction of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, the way (from what I understand) Disneyland Paris has...

Don't want to offend anyone, but our family really did NOT enjoy either the Jungle Cruise or Pirates of the Caribbean. The PoC might have been inovative and interesting in 1971, but today it is just boring. And, I don't think the Jungle Cruise could have EVER been interesting. Lame. And, it takes up so much space. Before you jump on me as being a "newbie," I felt this way from my first trip in 1977 until today.

I think that's why they are taking down Pirates for so long to put new animatronics in there to update it and make it more interesting and better for kids in the new age also. You are using everyone a little too freely. If everyone LOVED Alien I doubt it would have closed. If Alien was so bad they needed to close it, why did they think all they needed to do was cahnge the beast to Stitch???

I guess I should be glad they didn't replace the Alien with a plywood Stitch (minimally veiled reference to Pooh). With Eisner gone, maybe we can see a return of the Disney Magic.

Of course, as a stockholder...

You might wanna do some more research on the Alien Encounter. The reasoning behind them rehabbing and changing it is not because anyone didn't like it. The reason is because it wasn't a "family style" attraction and even though the themeing fit into Tomorrowland it didn't belong in the Magic Kingdom. They should've put it over in the Disney Studios for the more adult audience imo.

Rumor has it that they are considering an upgrade to the Indy speedway that will include the cars from the new Pixar movie. I haven't seen anything on any schedules saying this one's up for an upgrade though, so if they do, maybe they'll just plop new cars on the track.

I've heard nothing but bad things about stitch, though I haven't seen it myself. It was in soft opening when I was there last, but as I had seen and hated AE (too boring for this sci fi fanatic, and I knew the effects were too scary for my DD4) I didn't bother riding.

Shoot me, but i think the one that needs an upgrade most is KS . . . that script is horrendous. IMHO they should just do it like they do the Jungle Cruise and let the driver, or even better, a narrator do the talking. My vote for next to close though would have to be COP.

And don't touch my Star Tours, PLEASE!!! I know the video is getting old, but it reminds me way too much of seeing it at the theaters in '77.

They are shutting it down to make changes that coincide with the release of the new POTC movie coming out this summer. The story line on the ride will be similar to the story line in the movie.

i understand all of the negative comments about stitch and the Speedway but on all of my recent trips i have never seen short to no lines on either of these attractions. i even remember on my first visit to MK and seeing the lines for the speedway being so long and cant understanding why but as a previous poster stated that

i think that explains the mystery to me. but it could use an update especially with the new pixar movie coming out and the increasing popularity of NASCAR racing. a great sponsorship deal possibly between Disney and NASCAR?


i do have to vote for the closing of sounds dangerous. i couldnt believe just how bad that was. wasnt worth it even in the heat of july. the beginning of ellen's energy adventure added really unecessary minutes to an already long ride.

Actually, my DD 6, DS 4 and DS 2 loved the Pooh Playground. As hard as it is tom imagine, little kids really need a playground to let off steam, relax from waiting in lines, etc. My DH and I used the playground in each park (Boneyard in AK, HOney I Shrunk the Audience Playground in MGM, etc) as the kids bribe for the day. Did they love the rides/adult themed attractions? Of course!!! But most of Disney is designed for adults - almost all the rides are a little scary in someway and it's nice to have some totally kid oriented spots.

As for which ride needs to go,I'd say only Jungle Cruise was really boring for us. BUT - I'd rather Disney do something about all the closed rides before they took anymore away. We loved Small World, POTC, etc as they are more appropriate for the little ones.

Can't wait to plan another trip

Despite the fact that this is nobody's favoritre attraction, Stitch won't close anytime soon.

It just opened last year. It might be revamped, but don't expect it to close for a long time.

Now that AK has Everest, look for attention to be given to the newest low attendance park: MGM.

And the worst attraction at MGM: Sounds Dangerous. If Disney makes it into another meet-and-greet location or even a stroller parking lot, it will be an improvement.

Am I the only person in the world who enjoyed this????

I think they should replace the Indiana Jones Stunt show with the ride they have in Disneyland.
