Will this trip ever get off the ground? - Jan 2012 PTR - TOMORROW - 1/5!!!

Morning!

At least you will have someone to go commando in the parks with. I hope your friend in Seattle is just busy...and that this isn't a sign of how things witll go on the trip. :goodvibes

Morning!?! Its noon over here. :rotfl: I'm sitting waiting to eat the pizza and curly fries we ordered for lunch with a friend who's still working. Pizza is luke warm now. :rolleyes1 Not a big deal since we have microwaves!

I have someone to go commando with and hopefully like 2005/2006, he'll have a GAC so no real lines. I was so spoiled the first trip because I didn't understand the lines or fast passes or anything since we could by pass almost everything!

I'm here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I have to try to look like I'm getting work done at the office, but I will read and catch up on all by this evening. :)

HAA HAA HAA! Get work done. :lmao: Too funny. Isn't the lack of time on work and the excess of time on Dis the reason we compete to see who can get to Ann's photo first? You really haven't missed all that much.

But "Hi" :wave2: Thanks for joining. You have so many pages and updates and stuff I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to read your whole PTR, I've been reading it for the last week or so, starting with Andy joining your trip and the picture of him and his first serious gf.

Okay...I'm going to admit, I skimmed, but I hope not to miss out on anymore now that I'm here.

I'm sorry those traveling with you have changed.

And I have to agree about the "blue" dresses and the "RED" dress for the wedding...doesn't sound good to me at all. :confused3

It's okay, you didn't miss much. No where in the World game for me! LOL :rotfl: Its basically been me talking ot myself or Ann. One day I'll get organized and take photos of things I've done and not posted or something. Plus you'll have my whole October trip to rack up points on Ann's PTR.

I've read your chapter links, need to go back fill in with responses but I am sooooo jealous of your AP! :yay: And all of your trips!

My next goal is to go over the October month for the Halloween festivities!

You are almost up there with me on trips! December and February! Plus your February one is way longer than mine could be!

So I was wondering... do you have a TIW card since you have the AP? I was wondering if you like it compared to the dp.

I'm planning on picking it up when I exchange my voucher from the Disney Store for an actual AP. I won't really know which I like better until after January.

October, we're just doing CP, everything else will be made in the kitchen of the timeshare, be eaten off site, or in the F&W festival

December, we're just doing CP again since its a really quick trip.

January, I have tons of reservations and it will be nice to not have to order an entree, dessert, and drink. I would stuff myself cause I didn't want to let anything go to waste! There are some apps I want to try and if we want a drink at dinner, it gets discounted too! I figured the dp for the two of us for ten days is like $900 and then add tips to the meals. Hopefully I can get us through ten days for less including tips. I'm trying to keep this trip as close to or under $3000 as possible. I started at $2000, but blew that with renting the DVC points!

I certainly understand how the budget can change... my december trip started out much different. Now I am kinda...sorta...maybe thinking of upgrading to an AP. However, I like the dp...and not sure if I would like the TIW card.... but since I am not even sure about the AP...

Well to figure out whether you should get an annual pass, here's how I figured it. I took the price of getting tickets and subtracted it from the cost of the annual pass, then I figured if I was going back to Disney for more days than the remaining balance would cost in days then I should go for it!

I got the 30% value rooms for the one night in October, the weekend in December, and I'm waiting to figure out the first three nights in January, although renting the points for DVC was more than a 40% savings that they normally offer.

Then considering whether or not to go with the dining plan, you have to add the two day tickets you have to purchase (but can save for later) and the rack rate of rooms. With TIW I figured 20% off almost any TS plus the QS in AK, plus there are AP discounts in places too! Enough places feed you enough that you can just share plates and save money.

You can always purchase the DP separately, which at 40% off deluxe rooms, which your WL is, is a better deal. If you are only going to do values then its not a better deal. But the DP is going up in price in 2012 like everything else!

Phew! Enough detail for you?

That is an awesome amount of detail! I am wondering if we won't go back at some point in 2012. We do tend to go..and with Kira not going on this trip (at least as of now) The likelihood of taking a girls only trip is higher. I know one of the main reasons we stay on property is for the dp (and oddly enough the transportation ) I did know that you could buy the 2 day ticket required for the dp..and "bank" it and apply it to your renewal of the AP, right? I also like that you get room discounts..so even when there is no discount to the public there is an AP discount? I don't have a room discount on our stay at Pop, but you got one with your AP? :scratchin

I think what would complicate it for me is the fact that I would only want one for Zoe and I. Not for the guys...and then there is the issue of the dp on this trip. I am so confused. Reason I asked about the TIW card is ... if I upgraded Zoe and I to an AP prior to the trip then we would loose the dp for the trip. I wonder if we wouldn't save just as much if not more using a TIW card. It is only really accepted at TS? Or at CS locations too? I know that it would include alcohol..but does apply to the places in WS that sell drinks?

I think I may need to do some number crunching..

You can take the tickets off your KTTW card or keep the KTTW card and apply it to the price of the renewal of the annual pass I also like that you get room discounts..so even when there is no discount to the public there is an AP discount? I don't have a room discount on our stay at Pop, but you got one with your AP? :scratchin
Yes there is an AP holder discount for the Fall and they have yet to announce anything but free dining to the public, I'm nt sure if there is always a AP discount if there isn't a discount to the public. I think sometimes they give you a bigger discount % wise compared to the public

I am so confused. Reason I asked about the TIW card is ... if I upgraded Zoe and I to an AP prior to the trip then we would loose the dp for the trip. Rather than upgrading you and Zoe before the trip since the price of tickets already went up. When you get to WL and your first day in the park go to Guest Services and upgrade them there, that way you get to keep your DP for everyone I wonder if we wouldn't save just as much if not more using a TIW card. It is only really accepted at TS? Or at CS locations too? There is a list of where its accepted I found. You would only need to get one card and it can apply up to yourself and 9 other guests. So while on the DP if you get things that aren't covered I think you can use the TIW card to discount it. Only CS places in AK were on the list. I know that it would include alcohol..but does apply to the places in WS that sell drinks? Only TS that are listed and you could go in for whatever at a TS. Like the Chocolate Wave at Coral Reef only!

I think I may need to do some number crunching..

Hopefully this answers things for you!

So I heard on Monday from b who wrote "i have to buy my flight.":scared1:

And then g was writing saying finances are tight and how much is it going to cost at most.:scared1:

So am I the only one going on this trip? What's worse is I can't convince BF to go or anyone else for that matter, since it seems that all my plans are falling through.:headache:

Are you kidding?:headache: So has g bought airfare? I would be totally frustrated if I were you!!!!

Well, I can't remember who "B" or "G" is, but didn't they think of this at the beginning -- airfare, cost, etc. I hope you don't end up going all by yourself.

LOL, it gets confusing I know. Quick Rundown:

b- lives in Seattle, needs flight and Disney tickets, we are using her timeshare rental for the week, we traded it in to stay at Wyndham Bonnet Creek

g- lives in FL, needs Disney tickets, will drive 1 hour to get to timeshare.

then there is me.

me - lives in MA, has airefare and Disney tickets booked, was going to start packing last night.:lmao:
