It kind of went from sunny to cloudy to sunny to back to cloudy here today.

I got outside during the second sunny time and actually got a lot accomplished.

I'm quite pleased with myself for actually getting out there and doing something for a change:lmao:

Hiya Threadkillers!

Good luck with your interview TW! Sounds like everyone is doing well, hale and hearty although we have a few people who had their sleep disturbed at 3am. I was NOT one of them. DH and I had a FAB dinner with our friend from Italy last night - we closed the restaurant! After they closed, the owners sat and had some wine with us...fun, fun, fun!

I completed all my Christmas shopping for the kids & grandkids and will ship it out tomorrow. The Hanukkah presents are already on their way. I only have a few things left to buy for the family that lives locally and DH...but I know what I'm going to get him!

Ya'll take care and have a GREAT day!

Hello Ann,
Sounds like you have a nice dinner !:thumbsup2
How are the sisters....????? PLease tell them they are being missed....
You are very good getting the DGKs presents done,....I have only bought a few....This year is just creeping up on me....too fast...Thank God I dont have to do TG dinner...It will be nice to go and just be a guest for a change:goodvibes

Morning all,
I did get a small chance to look at hawaii a little on the PC....WOW its an expensive vaca:scared1: ....I DID find a couple of all inclusive deals that were'nt to bad....But Id kind of like to see more then one island.... :confused3not that I know which ones Im interested in...:confused3 Oh well its wont be for 2 years IF we go, so I have time to research..
Has any of you gone to hawaii???...Is there any Island that you would suggest?....Any place you stayed that you think was a good deal???.
Im thinking maybe the kona coast on the big island, and maybe Maui...But I just dont know .....I DO know I want to stay away from cities, and very populated places..No touristy things...Just a quiet slice of good snorkling beach, maybe some horseback riding, hiking,...that kind of thing...Im not much of a nightlife person...unless its sitting on the beach, watching the moonrise...:goodvibes ...with a glass of wine, or fruity rummy drink....

Well I dont really even know what you all have been up to...
So Ill go now..and check it out....:3dglasses

Hi Betsy....we have been to Hawaii 4 - 5 times....& DH actually lived for awhile after HS....anyway...he lived on Oahu....nice but highly populated & Waikiki is like LA on a beach....too many people....too busy etc. I really LOVE Maui & prefer staying in/near Kannapali. We have also stayed at Kapalua...both are gorgeous...Kapalua is at the end of Maui - so quite a drive down to Kaanapali & even further to Lahaina. Lahaina is "old town Hawaii" & that's where we go for shopping dining nightclubs etc....but it's all on small scale...Kihei is closer to the Maui airport - and is very nice (fairly new) etc....but again TOOOOO far from Kaanapali / Lahaina for me....
Have not been to big island of Hawaii - but hear it's really great & is growing & has more to offer to tourists than 5 yrs ago...Kauai is the "garden island' so very beautiful...but very laid back...& not a lot to do....so all depends on what you want from your vaca...
Maui gives us 'both' quiet days by the beach (sometimes we stay at the resort or can drive down the coast & find a beach area all to ourselves) & then there's the 'night life' of Lahaina...which for us is nothing more than dining...shopping walking around 'old town' area...and then there's Hana on the complete opposite side of Maui....which if you go to Maui = you must make the drive over at least once...there are "BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL" areas along the drive...but it's a long drive & very windy/curvy road BUT the gardens & the waterfalls along the way DO make up for it....i think the mileage there is about 30 miles....but will take you almost an hour with no stopping....just because it is so windy...
anyway - that's just my 2cents~or maybe that was 10cents. :)

Betsy, since you have a couple years to plan, as soon as I start learning the travel business I will see what I can find out pricewise for you to go to Hawaii. I've always been very good at getting good travel prices, I am hoping signing up with MEI will help me do that even better~

I saw the rain on the news last night Cally...our news program even played Rainy night in Georgia. I pray you get more so your drought can be relieved soon~

I still have a few things outside that need to be put away. The hammock chair I bought hubby this summer held up great! but now I can't get it down...the last knot refuses to budge~

Rainy crappy day here so the hammock chair'll be up for another day...

I had a mobile groomer come bathe Penny yesterday~

John brought home a brochure and wanted to try them out. The cost is a little higher but now I know well worth it. The last groomer left hair in Penny's ears, to a shi'tzu that's bad and can cause ear infections. Penny was also really muddy from the last few days of rain.

I called the lady yesterday around 2 and she was here by 615. Penny looked Fah-bu-lous when she came back in! She was perfectly groomed, totally fluffy with clean ears. The groomer also took a polaroid of her for us, made an ornament of it and gave us a goody bag of cookies for the puppies. We will absolutely use her again!

Thanks Colleen, it seems like everyone has been praying for rain lately ;)

Hey Oprah is here... well not here here..but she's in Macon. They are taping a show this Saturday. I applied to be a member in her audience but I guess my letter wasn't good enough.

I hear she plans to visit some homes in the local area... I'll be sure to catch this one when it airs.

I just found a thread about making cookies with cake mix. Sounds pretty interesting. :thumbsup2 I think I will try it next week. It will give me and the kids something to do while they are out of school.

Thanks for the Birthday wishes...I will show them to her...IF she dont bite the PC screen....anudda tooth came in!:thumbsup2

I've been to Hawaii twice. One of my Best friends lives there, so I never had to bother with a hotel or anything like a commoner! I always found it just as expensive as NYC.

But then again my friend is rather well known on the Islands, and where ever we went got FREE stuff. I was VERY IMPRESSED. Just give me Free things and i am yours!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Hang Loose!
