Thanx Betsy...you made me tear a little~

Morning my Threadkillers

DU, no, you aren't making sense at all today...

good luck with the party

Brenda, You are a wonderful sister to agree to changing plans this late in the game and you probably did it with a smile...have fun at your open house, ttysoon.

Today is another cleaning day for me, John has to fix the sink when he comes home-my kitchen sink sprung a leak in the elbow. We tried to watch Ratatouille last night and the cd won't work...what really stinks is this is the second one cause the first one didn't work either. The first one didn't run at all. This one I checked when I got home and it played the opening stuff so I thought it was ok. Nope. It stopped working when it got to the part where you actually play the movie :(

This is where it becomes a hassle to get to my Disney store, it's a half hour drive for me just to exchange this for yet another disc.

I never heard from the Disney store btw. I was hoping I didn't get the job anyway...it didn't come with any real perks. They didn't like the fact that I had a week away during the holiday, I have a feeling I was discounted because of that. I will go on monday to exchange my movie so I can catch the manager there and talk to him or her (they have two that I know) at the same time about my application.

oh i sure don't mind hosting TG...really is easier....& DH likes to stay home & be "in charge" of his remote & FB games :happytv: anyway....so everyone will come here - i got a small honey baked ham, turkey & prime rib from the Honey Baked Ham Co. Of course we'll have rice (not a day goes by without rice here:lmao:) mashed pototatoes, stuffing, salad, veggies, rolls & pumpkin, raspberry & apple pies for dessert....sounds good already huh? so....just came from my WW mtg...& the above menu will cost me more than 40 pts!!!! :scared1: :scared1: OMG....you know how many hours of exercise it takes to burn off 40 points???? at least 15!!! i think i better spend 3 hrs a day there all this wk so my TG day dinner can be a 'wash'....;)

and our very yummy lunch~

Hiya Threadkillers!

I'm sorry I've not posted - I've been SO busy getting ready for Thanksgiving. All the dinner rolls are made and in the freezer. I got the cranberry sauce in the molds today - I decided to do something different and added Orange Essence during the cooking process. I've decided to do everything from scratch this year - and the entire meal! (the only thing I won't/didn't make was the bread for the stuffing - I did buy a nice Country Bread from Panera's!) and 8 pies - 4 varities. We're having 13 folks over. Here's the menu:

Roasted Turkey
Country Bread & Sage Stuffing
Sweet Potatoes with Crunchy Pecan Topping
Sour Cream & Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Macaroni & Cheddar Cheese
Green Bean Casserole
Creamed Cheddar Corn
Homemade Sour Cream Yeast Rolls
Cranberry Sauce & Assorted Relish Tray

San Sebastian Vintners White Wine
San Sebastian Vintners Red Wine

Chocolate Fudge Brownie Pie
Mystery Pecan Pie
Cherry Pie
Coconut Cream Pie

CADZNY - I'm SO jealous! Club 33 is a place I've always wanted to go to. You are so lucky! What did you eat? Details - I need Details!

TW - As usual - Love the timeshare! I'm with you - Florida is the ONLY place to live babee!

Robin - You should get your flu shot! I never miss them!

Cally - I'd rather have rain than snow!

Hiya DalPal & PD112! I hope ya'll are having a GREAT day!

DU - A Happy Birthday to Mackenzie. I'm sorry you didn't get to be on the show. I hope you're parents have signed a peace treaty!

I'm sorry I rambled - I had a large glass of wine this evening....*giggle*

WOW Ann...that is QUITE the menu...and yowsers....definitely some work has gone into it!!! I have been very fortunate & have been at Club 33 a few times...5 or so...for my 40th & 50th Bd's....and the other times - just because of some wonderful people

Sorry Ann, no flu shots for me.

I just don't see the need for it myself. :confused3

We have had a bit of snow today. Not enough to stick to anything but snow :scared:

I'm not ready for that yet.

I understand, Robin, it's certainly a personal choice/preference. I like getting my flu shot every year....I'm a fraidy cat! Plus my doc insists I get one because of my heart.

CADZ - You are lucky to have such friends to take you to Club 33! I can't help myself around the holidays. I just have to cook and I tend to go over-board. Oh, well - I enjoy it, so it could be worse!

I LOVE Honey Baked Ham & their products. Unfortunately I'm allergic to their topping - which is the good stuff - it has cinnamon! Last Christmas I ordered a ham without the topping and it was yummy!

Ya'll take care - it's bed time (*giggle*)

wow....pretty quiet here for almost 12 hours....where did all the TKer's go???? Shopping? Macy's is having a great sale today...can't go though...need to clean house & other domestic duties...my SIL decided she would rather not host TG so asks me last night if i will......but I can't make a traditional turkey dinner because that is what my other SIL is doing next sat for her DD's 14th BD....

Yep! Shopping is right! Except it was grocery shopping. YUCK! We bought the things we needed for Thanksgiving dinner.

Spent a million dollars too! :sad2: Okay, not really...but it sure did feel like it. We bought two turkeys and peanut oil. Gonna fry turkeys again. yummy...

But I have to tell yall...lastnight I went out to dinner with my former classmates. Despite the fact that the service was so bad...I had such a good time.

It was a party of 8 and we had reservations for 7pm and we didn't get seated til 9pm. :confused3 But we were sitting and having a few drinks and catching up and it was such a good time!

Oh goodness but when we did get seated are drinks stayed dry and it took forever to order and get food :sad2:

But we still had a good time :lmao:

I think we just missed eachother ... :yay:

Oops, I'm rambling.. i need to finish catching up

Du~ HOw the party go??? What did she get????

We bought Kal a few toys today..some for her bday on the 15th and the rest for Christmas. We got her the Elmo TMX. It's so cool. It stands up and when you tickle it's tummy it starts to laugh, fall down, roll, over and bang it's hand on the floor...and if u keep tickling it will start to do other stuff and talk...It's so funny :rotfl: AFter it's done it stand back up... :thumbsup2 So cool!!!!!

Brenda, great pics! Thanks for sharing. I have never been to Club 33. I've never been to DL...maybe one day though.

Ann, that's a great menu! Man, that's a lot of people to be cooking for. I'll be cooking for 9. But thank goodness Roger is taking care of the turkeys and SIL is getting a honey baked ham! They're the best!

Instead of doing a pumpkin pie this year...I'm making a Pumpkin Gooey Butter cake. I saw Paula Dean make it on the Rachel Ray show. It looked soooooooooooooo good. Can't wait.

Tomorrow the kids and I are going to make snickerdoodles... I hope they make it to TG! ;)

Remember how I was telling you that Oprah was coming here and taping a show.

Well they taped today and guess what show it was?!?!

It was her Favorite Things show!!! Ugh, I was sooooo mad!!! Why didn't I get to go.:headache:

She said that she came to Macon to do the show because Macon has the most viewers then any other place!!! Uh, yea...I watch everyday!!

I heard she gave away (to everyone) camcorders, digital cameras, new fridges with hd tv's on them, cosmetics, to name a few....

It airs this Tues... :sad2:

oh Cally...i am SOOOO sorry you didn't get on that show...how cool would that have been??? but you'll get another chance someday! My SIL's friend who i've met many times, was a guest on the show when Oprah gave away the Pontiac G6's...so Shelley has one of those & got a license plate that reads "ThxOpra"...

I LOVE snickerdoodles...have fun baking!! I don't think i'm going to bake this year....not after that WW weigh in yesterday - :scared1: yikes - will only have 8-10 ppl here (depending on niece & her BF) for TG this year...Christmas Eve should be about 14 i'm guessing....my dining table only seats 10 so will have to set up a "kids" table....

I'm going to throw together a photo 'collage' from Italy this a.m. for the Open House at the High School that i'll be at later today....

Morning Threadkillers.

It's been pretty quiet around here lately?

What is everyone up to :confused3

Trying to get rid of a horrible back ache....that's what i get for making the display board on the footstool instead of on a table....So an aleve & heating pad will hopefullyl do the trick before i need to head over to the high school.....

Yep Robin, I noticed that too

Brenda no baking? :faint:

Well I understand about your WW. They should give you extra points during the holidays

Hope your back is feeling better :wizard:

I'm here doing laundry :laundy: and about to watch The Falcons! :happytv:

:tigger: :mickeyjum :goofy: :stitch: :simba: :donald: :tigger: :mickeyjum :goofy: :stitch: :simba: :donald: :tigger: :mickeyjum :goofy: :stitch: :simba: :donald:

if i bake it....i no doubt will want to eat it - imagine that!!!!:lmao: Christmas cookies are SOOOOO my downfall....well almost any cookie come to think of it~cake on the other hande...can sit there forever & i usually won't touch it....

actually we do get 35 extra pts a wk to use however / wherever...so they can be saved & used all in one day (which i'm going to need Thursday)....and then every 20 mins of exercise will earn you another point to spend.....

John's been cooking all day~I've been hanging in the kitchen with him...

Everybody is home, it's quiet and rainy

Colleen, sounds like a nice relaxing day. ;) What is Jon cooking?

Brenda, I never understood the point system. It's nice that you have extra points and can exercise for more! :)

John made split pea soup,
jambalaya with kielbasa, shrimp and mushrooms,
and chili today.

He also backed out of our trip today :(

He is going to help his mom move from SC to NJ instead of going on vacation.

Our trip is now a mother, son trip.

John's Mom is going to live with us for now. She can use Dad's room while he is in FL. He will be back in Mar/Apr and she knows she has to be out by then.

Cally. John and I have had to deal with his parents splitting up for a few years now. It's not easy. We've vowed to be honest. My MIL (Ilse) knows I will not bump Dad out of my house for her. She knows she is welcome to use the space for a while but is not welcome to really stay. Our allegiance is only with Dad cause Mom ran away and left Dad standing there with nowhere to go. We took Dad in. Mom moved away.

Mom is complaining noone visits her. Hello! You're 12 hours away!

I am ok with John helping his mom. I am ok with going to FL with just my son. I am ok with whatever decision John makes regarding his parents.

 I didn't know. Wow, I hope that I will never have to move my dad in here! As of right now I don't want to even speak to him. :headache:

So Dad is your FIL, right?

I'm sorry John backed out. It's nice of him to help move your mom. I guess that means you'll have to plan YET ANOTHER trip for you and John. ;)

OH I almost forgot...John is cooking up a storm today!! Everything sounds good..but I'll take some Jambalaya please!!!
