Good Morning :sunny:

How's everyone doing?

Du~ hope you're well rested and mama too...

PD..that's great to hear your daughters are doing so well. :thumbsup2 Teachers rarely call home so that is an honor to hear such great news. :goodvibes

I have nothing planned for today... I do need to go to the grocery store to pick up some stuff. Gotta do more baking ;) Dante's bringing cookies for his "holiday" party.

And SIL has requested some... :)

So I thought this was interesting...

DeVaughn brought in a note saying that the students of his school are providing a luncheon for the staff members and that the classroom moms have requested that each parent bring in an appetizer....

Okay that sounds great.....

So I ask DeV about it...what's it for? why are they doing this? who's idea? yadda yadda yadda....

And he had no idea about it.... didn't know a thing... :confused3

What's up with that?

Went to bed at 7pm, woke up at 7am!:thumbsup2

Mom is sleeping. They said she will have pain for about 2 days...while all the blood starts moving back to the foot & revitalize the tissue. :scared1: it was a horror to see. However the 'coldness' is immeadiatley gone!:thumbsup2

Hopefully if all goes well, Mom will have herself in WalMart by Satuday...she is itchin to get out and shop!;)

Start the Christmas decorating today!:santa: I dont know what I am gonna do outside...it hasnt stopped raining, snowing or icing!
:confused3

Got a Christmas card from a far away foreign land!!!!!! Thanks Crusin. I will get mine out sooner or later.

OMG....now where would she have even learned those words????? But so glad the procedure went well! Sweet dreams DU!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: She did marry a Sailor!:lmao:

:lmao: However Mom KNOWS how to throw out a few ditties.....I also inherited this trait!:thumbsup2 Ya either got it or ya dont. Once at work, someone said to me....."you use ever curse word in the book, YET no one ever is offended...in fact quite the opposite!!!" Nutin real bad, just the 7 words you cant say on TV! I always say, curse words 'cut to the chase'...when using one, no one ever questions or is confused by what you said!:lmao:

Aren't you off of work right now??

And shouldn't you be sleeping at this time of day :confused3

What the heck are you doing posting such cheerful greetings so early in the morning :headache:

:rotfl2:

Good ALMOST afternoon Threadkillers

Just had to work 8 hrs on Monday night! Must work Saturday night too...on a secret project!popcorn::

I also bought a "My first Christmas" one for Emily..with her name engraved on it......for one of her presents....:thumbsup2

Time to get lunch....

I love personalized & engraved things too! If Makenzie dont know her name after this Christmas ....then she NEVER WILL!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Saturday is also Kallista's 1st birthday. :cheer2: Did I mention that she is walking now.... :thumbsup2 She takes a few steps then thinks about it and falls to her butt. It's only a matter of time before we are chasing her all around. :scared:

:rotfl2: Mak does the same thing! :rotfl2: That look on the face is priceless when she cathes herself walkin:confused: !

I dont remember James doing that! He just got up & took off (at 9 mos):scared1: He was always trying to get out of the house!:goodvibes

Isn't it funny how different each child is. Dante was like James...started very early and took off....

DeV on the other hand was like... I'm only walking if you give me something sweet :snooty: :lmao:

And Kallista is just surprised she can walk.....

Just back from DD(12)'s chorus concert! it was fun and relaxing. SHe had a solo! She had to audition for it. She was so proud that she got the solo and she did so well.

Then we get home and the phone rings and dd(16) answers and says it's some man looking for her parents.:scared1: Well the man is her math teacher and I think oh no! Well he says he was just calloing to let me and DH know what a pleasure it is to have my DD in class, because she works so hard and has such a good attitude. It's an honors class and is very difficult and he says that having kids like her as his students makes teaching so rewarding.

My heart is singing. WHat a great day!

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I KNOW my parents had calls like that from my Teachers when I was a kid!!!:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

They usually started "I know its the Christmas season, and you are busy...BUT ANDREW is out of control and quite frankly I am at my WITS end with him............" :rolleyes1
I would really like someday to get a peek at my "Permanant Record" that follows me thru life!!!!!!

I'm with Dev!:thumbsup2 I need a treat at the end of a long walk!:yay: Sorta like Pavlovs Dog!:woohoo:

PD....WOW that is so nice to get that phone call & for your DD to get the solo! Happy Christmas a little early!!!!

Du~glad you got some sleep & that your DM will be okay soon!!!!

Cally~what kind of cookies are you baking? hummmm...Dev NOT knowing about the staff party just doesn't surprise me if his 'room' mothers are like some that we used to have:rotfl:

Must work Saturday night too...on a secret project!popcorn::

hmmm secrets :woohoo:

...BUT ANDREW is out of control and quite frankly I am at my WITS end with him............

Oh, I"m sure that never ever happened

Cally, if every parent makes an appetizer those teachers are gonna be eating for weeks and weeks and weeks:eek:

How many teachers are there and how many students in that school??

Today it is very nice and sunny outside here. I know what you mean DU with the weather, we too have been having the snowing and raining and icing stuff non stop too.

I'm making more chocolate hershey kisses for Dante's class party and some heath/chocolate chip cookies.

Oh, so I got another note from DeV's school explaining exactly what the luncheon is for. It's to show our appreciation for all the staff does.

Now I have no problem with showing appreciation but it just seems like it was one of the staff members idea and not the kids....esp since DeV had no idea about it. Why couldn't they just say...we want a luncheon and bring some appetizers to show you appreciate us... :lmao:

The school is pretty big. For 2nd grade alone there are 5 classes with about 20 students each. It goes from pre-K to 2nd. And there are P.E. teachers, music, art, gifted program, librarian, etc. But I agree Robin, I was thinking that would be A LOT of food if every kid brought something. But probably not every kid will bring something...

They split it up... Pre-K brings veggies, Kindergarden brings fruit, 1st grade brings desserts, 2nd grade bring appetizers.

So I think I'm going to bring pigs in a blanket or something...:confused3
Or maybe cheese cubes and crackers..

Cally, so there are 100 kids in DeV's grade and they are asking each child to bring in an appetizer.:confused3

Even if they have 50 teachers and other assorted people to feed and not even half of the students bring in something, they will have enough food to feed the teachers AND the students all combined:rolleyes:

Way, way too much food.

Sounds like they needed a better organizer of this event.

I agree Robin, I think it's going to be way too much food. The bad part is I don't think the kids are invited. :upsidedow

Maybe I'll just be one of the parents who don't send anything in. I all ready have to send in a snack for their party next week too. But I don't want his teacher to think I don't appreciate all they do :3dglasses

Yea, I'm not surprised with their lack of organization.

Do you think Nala could be part Main Coon? :confused3

She has the hairy paws too...

I don't know what kind of cat she is Cally but she sure is a cute one :teeth:

I don't know what I would do about the school/teacher party thing:confused3

Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me, unless they are all trying to get out of cooking dinner at home that night too;)

Have you been able to talk to any other parents about this?

There was a thread on the CB about main coon cats. Some of the characteristics that were mentioned reminded me of Nala so I googled some pics of Main Coon cats and I saw a lot of similarities. :confused3 But she doesn't have the long fluffy tail :lmao:

I haven't been able to speak to other parents about this yet. The first I heard of it was yesterday and I really didn't even know what kind of function it was until today. And the luncheon is next week on the 18th I believe. Then the class party on the 20th. No school on 21th. They are out til Jan. 4 :scared:

;) :cutie:

Here is a link to Yahoo's aerial map of the area that I live in.

See the large dark green rectangle in about the middle of the map?

That is the woods that I can see from my back door. The field to the left of it is where my house backs onto.

If you move around you can see just how flat and agricultural the area that I am in is.

Kind of interesting to look at that stuff.

I was also looking at Cape Canaveral. There is one of the Disney ships docked at the terminal. Also had a look at Castaway Cay, Disney's Island. There is also a ship docked there:thumbsup2
