Where to say 1 night before checkin?

Do you think that checking in early in the morning gives you a better chance of getting right into your room? I assume a lot of people don't check in at 8:00am or earlier. It would nice to stay in an inexpensive room the first night after a late flight and then getting up early and getting right in at VWL. Am I dreaming? Any experiences of this?

If the resort is using the room availability option and you are the first or one of the first to check-in, I would think that as a room that meets your reservation comes available, you would be assigned. However, if they just randomly assign rooms based on the fact that someone is checking out that day, my whole theory is blown!

I really don't know, but when we checked in and the CM said our room was ready at 7 AM, I was shocked! My sister was checking into her villa at the same time and hers was available too. This was Easter week! So I guess it all depends on if the rooms are reserved for the night before or not. Clearly no one had been in our villas the night before we checked in.

Hi Degli! I usually arrive around 7:30-8:30 am, and about half the time our room is ready. Just depends on their vacancies the night before, how efficient mousekeeping has been that am (and how many people checked out already), etc. Sometimes you just get lucky. Enjoy your trip, who all is going this time?

We stayed at Hampton "Eastgate." About 2 or 3 miles from the entrance. Nice accomodations. I think it was close to $60 per night. About 7 or 8 minutes from the BWV.

We'll stay there again.

We usually priceline the night before (Saturday) and that Friday's rooms. I have been lucky so far and ended up with nice accomodations - IT's NOT DISNEY - but we are really just looking for a place to lay our heads after a long drive down. Each time I have selected 3 star and start bidding around $25 dollars. Got one for $25 and the other for $32. I do not expect luxury at these prices BUT it gives me MORE disney money!!!

For this trip we added on a Saturday night stay because we are flying down and get in early. At first we were not getting good rates out of the Rental Car places from MCO so I added Saturday and pick up a car at the Swan & Dolphin. BUT now DH found a comparable rate using a different code directly from MCO. So now I am going to cancel that night and try priceline again. See which hotel we get and if they have a mini fridge in the room we will be able to go shopping Saturday and not have to do that before checking in at OKW first thing Sunday morning. :cheer2: :cheer2:

We used priceline last June for a before and after night...ended up at the Wyndham Palace for around $60 (4 star) and the Sheraton Safari for around $30 (3 star).

I'd spend the extra $30 to go with the 4 star...and only do a night or two BEFORE a DVC villa next time.
