When to call/fax for room request

When is the best time to request our the rooms we want at CR? I have heard 3 days before but know I jsut read someoens post where they were told not to call until the day before.

We faxed our requests 4 days before we arrived at WDW for our stays at both the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Beach Club. And we got everything we requested - room locations and floors and beds! I was surprised and delighted to get everything we asked for!

Faxing Room Preferences at Deb's site has all the info.

Does any body know what I should do? We are resort hopping so I will not be able to fax WL 4 days out. We will be there. If i fax before we go it would be 7 days out. Should I go ahead and fax early or call from a phone down there 2 days before???? any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks corvair
