What's for dinner? Was it "budget"?

Sometimes you just have to eat a good steak! After eating budget for a few weeks, you really appreciate a "good" meal! Not that our other meals aren't good, last night was just waaay better! And being that I amalso subscribed to the Losing Weight for Mickey thread, this was also Atkins Friendly! No Carbs and verrry little clean up!! Even better!! :thumbsup2

we went out but it was late and we had to get to home depot before it closed. Ran into family at store so we lost another 1/2 -3/4 hr yaking. Family of four each got a drink and we split a 14 inch sub. Total $13.??
Not bad. We weren't really full but it was 8:30pm or so by the time we ate so it was enough. It was at Wegman's so the sub it really big and fresh roll.

I need to get on board with the "Losing Weight for Mickey" thread! Where is that located? :)

We ordered a pizza from Papa John's Friday night. It was the first time we've done it since Sept.! It was good, but a little too bready for me. I like thin crust, but we got regular. It was still good and no clean up! :yay:

Last night we had left overs. Meat loaf, green beans, and mashed potatoes. Well everyone else did but me. I had a cheeseburger.

Tonight we're having a ham steak (love those!) with baked beans and corn. Maybe some fruit for dessert. Quick, tasty, and easy! :)

Beans 'n cornbread w/ steamed broccoli.

Tonight is steaks (free, because my Mom has us on autodelivery through QVC for the Kansas City Steaks), some sort of starch (I can't decide, either potatoes or rice, both of which I have in my pantry), and some kind of veggie...

free spaghetti dinner at inlaws tonight. I will take salad but I have all of that in the frig. :thumbsup2

I had a sandwich the other day at a restaurant (late Valentine's date with dh) that I think I'll make at home because it was yummy!

Sliced eggplant, tomato, mozzerella, basil, and prosciutto on a thick hoagie style bun, drizzled with olive oil and salt and pepper. They put it under the broiler open faced until it was all bubbly, then served it closed.

It was YUM-O! I think I'll be making a similar one for dinner sometime this week.

Tonight I am making chicken salad pita's, soup, and/or side salad.

Chicken in a can $2.00
mayo/seasoning .25
Pita's $1.25
2 cans of chicken noodle soup $1.50
Salad mix w/fixings $1.50

$6.50

** I am also taking turkey soup out of the freezer and jazzing it up for myself. No matter how good it is I can't eat Campbell's soup w/ the sodium content. We will have the turkey soup probably on Wednesday but in the meantime I can clean the canned soup out of the cupboard for the kids:thumbsup2

Stew beef, a can of mushroom soup, water and a package of onion soup mix...all mixed in the crockpot. Served over noodles with peas and cauliflower on the side. I might also open a can of fruit.

Tonight we had breakfast for dinner, homemade pancakes, bacon and eggs.. I had low fat waffles and bacon because I am on a diet.

We had turkey mini-meatloafs (about $2 for turkey/ 0.75 for Beefy onion seasoning, 1 egg, splash worchestershire, few panko breadcrumbs), 0.50 ketchup, Bob Evans mashed potatoes ($2.50) and peas (0.75). Probably about 8$ or so but family loves it!

1.5 lbs Chicken $1.99 per lb = $3.00
RiceARoni bought w/coupon = $ .50
1/4 bottle Terriyaki w/coupon $ .25
Grilled fresh pineapple = $1.99

$5.75 for family of 5

It was pretty yummy. We love that Kikkoman Teriyaki with garlic sauce. It's good with no other seasoning or flavoring at all. Yummy.

My husband is working tonight, so it is just me and the kids. So, we are having cowboy food. Ground turkey meat ($2), rice a roni mexican style ($.50), shredded cheese ($1.50), chili beans (.65). We will also have a side of corn ($1). So, total cost: $5.65 + sour cream topping (.50). This makes a ton, so my husband can take it to work for 2 days for lunch.

This sounds yummy, how much water do you add?

In the middle of making terryaki chicken and brown rice:

chicken: about $3 worth
rice: about 50 cents worth
leftover fruit and a green beans

nice and inexpensive!!
