Last night I made a cheddar soup. I think I read all the posts on another thread about everyone making the le cellier soup and I got inspired. This is a different recipe though...no beer in it. I served it with multigrain bread and NO vegetables at all. Because I did not want any!

could you post the recipe for this? Thanks so much!!!

We are eating out tonight. There is a college men's basketball game we are going to, then out to a little pub for dinner afterwards.
Karen

Well I had a can of Trader Joes Organic Vegetarian Chili, New York Style Everything Bagel Crisps and a little bit of my greek salad. I'm at work.:surfweb:

I love those Bagel Crisps!!!

Welcome to our thread!!! Stick around and post often!

We had Panera tonight. So good! I had the creamy tomato soup, mediterranean veggie sandwich and the baguette. So that brings me to a question. Does anyone have a good creamy tomato soup recipe? I think I've only ever had Campbell's and this just blew me away!!

My neighbor has one that is incredible!!! I'll see if I can get her to give me the recipe and then I'll post it.

Hey ya'll!

Vail was nice. Driving Friday was a nightmare- they had just reopened the interstate cause of the snow. But when you move away from snow you forget how gorgeous it can be. The weekend was beautiful weather.

Glynis- I looked for fry sauce and couldn't find any! I may have to get you to send me some.

I'm heading to the store today. If you want I'll pick you up some! PM me your address and I'll put it in the mail for you.

Glad you had a nice time at Vail! I bet the storm was fierce there! Nice to see you safely back, though!

Well, my DH surprised me this Valentine's day. Guess he stays out of the freezer for another year.

He brought me a dozen pink roses. He also brought flowers for our 3 girls, and a styrofoam glider for Jacob. When he handed me the flowers, I noticed something hanging from them. It was a black pearl necklace! It's so pretty! He told me he knows about my obsession with Captain Jack, so he's decided not to fight it, but give in gracefully, so now I have my own "Black Pearl." What a sweetie:love:

We went out to dinner last night to Wingers where Alan had fajitas that he thought were horrible, and I had the Loaded Chicken which was wonderful! We also split a platter of wings!

Tonight is mac and cheese before we head out to the movies. Enchanted made it to our dollar theaters, so we're going to try to take the kids. DH has to do a freelance job from noon until 6, so we'll leave after that.

I am impressed! Yup, freezer free for another year :thumbsup2

I had a change of plans. Didnt feel like cooking for myself, so I ate an Asiago Bagel.

Ann

Is it from Panera? That's the only place I've found Asiago Bagels at and they are SOOOOOOOOOOOO yummy

It is my favorite too! I would never tell anyone else but I swear I could eat the entire thing myself :guilty:

Is that recipe posted on here? The warm lemon cake? DH is a lemon nut, though you know I hate to bake...=)

I am back from my retreat, it went great! Tonight we are driving about an hour to have dinner with my brother and dad to celebrate my brother's birthday. He chose a great family owned steakhouse that serves prime steaks at Golden Corral prices. My kind of place!

It used to be on the old thread but I don't think it is on the new one. Aimee, this is not a difficult recipe and it is instant gratification. I know it says to enjoy it warm but it is outrageous good at room temp!
Here it is:
Warm Winter Lemon Cake

1 pkg. yellow cake mix
2 pkg. (4 serving size) instant lemon pudding mix
1/3 C. sugar
1 1/4 C. water
2 C. cold milk
2 Tbs. powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare cake mix as directed on package. Pour batter into greased 9 X 13 bking dish. Pour milk and water into large bowl. Add dry pudding mixes and sugar. Whisk 2 minutes or until well blended. Pour over cake batter. Place pan on cookie sheet to catch drippings. Bake 55 minutes to 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan 20 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Spoon into serving dishes. Serve warm.

Sounds delish! I'm off to copy this one into my Word doc of recipes! :yay:

WOW I think I would have cried. I totally agree he gets to stay out of the freezer. :thumbsup2

I need to get find what dinner is tonight. Last night was pork chops, corn and noodles.

This one is from a local bagel shop, but sometimes I buy them at Shaws Supermarket too. I never had the Panera one, but that is good to know.

Well, my dinner turned out delicious tonight. The Liamsaunt's spicy slaw was very good. Thanks for the recipe!

Your Alan is exempt from the Gift Giving for Dummies course. You also don't need extra freezer space.

I am a bit grumpy today. I have been in my house all week with the exception of one trip to the doctor's and a half hour outside shoveling snow on Wednesday. Grrr...

With all the talk of fried fish on here today, I made beer-battered cod (stole your idea, Ann!), fries, eggplant sticks from Mom, and salad. My house reeks, but Caili ate three pieces of fish, so that was good. Unfortunately, she also spiked yet another temp after being fever-free all day. That means another two days in the house.

The upside is that since I have had nothing else to do, I have made Caili a competition dress that looks like something an Olympic skater would wear. Not that she is an Olympic skater. Yes, I am so bored that gluing rhinestones the size of pinheads on to an otherwise $60 dress seems interesting. Once I get the camera that is compatible with my computer (another thing I have been doing...online shopping :scared1: Mostly browsing...mostly :rolleyes1 ) I will take a picture and post.

Glynis, I posted the recipe on page 77. I actually thought of you when I was making it, because it was beer-free! It's yummy, I promise. :)

Here are some photos from tonight. Rack of lamb:

And, I am SO happy, because I FINALLY made pillow fluffy light gnocchi!! I've never been able to pull off the light gnocchi from scratch before. Here they are, after cooking them I pan seared them in butter and tossed in some parmesean...yum:

Other food items included Mom's famous eggplant sticks and sauteed green beans.

I did not end up making that pear cocktail I mentioned yesterday...I was not in the mood. Maybe next week.

How long is this flu supposed to last? I would be getting very stir crazy.:wizard: I hope Caili is able to finally shake this fever. I also hope no one else gets it.

My gnocchi comes to me premade and packaged. I am envious of anyone who attempts to make it from scratch. Your dinner as usual looks delish even the lamb which for the most part I don't care for. Sorry

Sorry you're feeling grumpy and Caili has a fever again, but I can't wait to see the masterpiece.:goodvibes

Yar, I hate lamb too! I don't eat it, you know, I just cook it for the carnivores that do. I only eat chicken, turkey, and fish. OH, and BACON. :lovestruc

I was a vegetarian for 10 years, and this is as far as I have been able to tolerate! I've tried everything and I can't stand any of it still. I regularly test myself (just like a toddler,!) but beef tastes like metal, lamb tastes like metallic grass, duck tastes like grassy moss, pork tastes like fatty milk...you get the idea! Give me my veggies and tofu. And bacon!
