Gino, the AKP, lowland gorilla, has passed away! 😢

He was always a highlight of my trips to WDW. He was such a magnificent creature! He was 44 years old, at the time of his death Sept. 17, 2025.

Just a truly magnificent animal, and a highlight of any trip we made to AK. He will be missed by his family group, staff, and guests.

I am going to miss seeing him. So many great memories of watching him interact with the family troop.

I remember watching him break up a fight between two younger males. All he had to do was step in between them and they were instantly far apart. I love gorillas, they're my favorite animals.

I saw that too. Or the half brother got closer to one of the baby girls and he just gave a look and swat and both the younger boys ran off for a bit. I think my favorite memory was one time watching the younger boys swinging in a tree early in the AM and he is sitting on a rock eating his breakfast watching them with a look what are you 2 doing?

Poor thing. Condolences to all his family. Glad I got to see him this year.
