Hello

I am looking for a little guidance here. We are flying into Miami for a cruise. What is the best way to get from MIA to the cruise terminal? We're not really Uber people but if that is the best way then we'll figure it out.

I just don't want to try and figure it out when I get off the plane.

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Thank you

It's been a couple of years since we sailed out of Miami, but we just took a taxi. Want to say it was about $30 with tip.

Uber is SUPER easy from the airport to the terminal. We've done it many times with pretty large traveling parties. And it's not expensive. Always have gotten very nice drivers.

I am old school. To me Uber is like hitchhiking. Getting into a car with a stranger.

But I know it’s the way of the world now. I still use Taxis if public transportation isn’t available.

What cruise line are you on? They might offer transfers from the airport to the ship.

Agreed, two weeks ago we used Uber for all our transportation needs for our Treasure cruise. All were super easy to get, they we’re on time and cars and drivers were fine.

It was my first time using Uber and I’ll be using them again for our cruise in November.

Honestly curious: if you feel ridehsare is getting into a car with a stranger do you not feel that with a taxi?

I also used to feel that way, but then I realized that Uber/Lyft actually have a lot more safety tools built into their apps (as opposed to just catching a cab).

This!!! I feel so much better, and safer, with all the built in safety tools in the rideshare apps. The ability to share your location with someone else always makes me feel more at ease.

I feel like Taxis are a company and there are more 'rules' and regulations. If I order an Uber and Bob is my driver, how do I know what Bob has been doing for the last 2 hours? Maybe watching a game and drinking beer. Do I even notice that the face doesn't exactly match the photo of Bob? The taxi driver would have a shift and I know who to complain to. Just feels weird to me . . . and I read about how after a concert or something, they can cancel the ride you have reserved to pick up a higher fare. I rarely use taxis either.

So my aversion is moot. But I am not the only person who is uncomfortable with the idea.

Not a fan of AirBnbs either. They gobble up affordable housing . . .

BUT I like the classic Disney ships!

We have done both from MIA you have to walk farther to get to the uber pick up area than you do the Taxis. Ubers are slightly cheaper if they aren’t in surge pricing due to traffic or nearby events.
