Hooray for Kyle!!!! You tell him how proud we all are of him!!!

Thanks for all your thoughts about Mary! She's just fine, now! I think she rushed having dairy, with a big bowl of yogurt for breakfast. She's not angry with me for not letting her play with her friends today. I told her if she's not well enough to go to school, she's not well enough to play with friends. That's the rule!

I can't wait for book group! I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone!!!!

I made roast (in the slow cooker), rice with gravy and corn. It was gooood.

Popped in real quick to see how Sammie made out today, and I am so excited to see that not only did Kat's furbaby do a wonderous thing, but her real baby did as well!!
WOOT WOOT!!!! :cool1: :cheer2: :cool1: :cheer2:
Way to go Kyle!!!!! We are soooo excited...Ross did the whole arm pump for him and jumped up in the air!!!!
If you paper has the interview on line please paste the link for us Kathy!!!!
Tell Kyle that his "aunt" in Maine is wicked happy for him!! What a season he has in front of him!!!

It ended with him indeed getting his first no-hitter of his career. The local newspaper interviewed him after the game and there should be an article in the sports section tomorrow!!!!! We beat a team that had 12 wins and only 1 loss!!:goodvibes

Congratulations to Kyle! That is so great.

Okay, I made that frozen Voila stuff. It's tasty, and quick, and was on sale so super cheap but it's not really enough for 2 people! It makes 3.5 cups of food. Now, maybe we are just pigs but that's not even 2 cups each for us.

I'll be digging into the snacks later.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I am so proud of him! Tell him Auntie Nancy is srtill jumping up and down!

Now you get some rest and feel better.

If you guys watch Rachel Ray, my sister went to the taping that they are airing tomorrow...my sister was wearing a B&W leopard print shirt...watch out for her. Jodie Foster is on and she is making chicken noodle soup without the broth...

Marisa DVR'ed it for me so that I can see her. Thanks for letting us know.

I think tonight I am just going to grab something on the way home. I have a darn headache and my mother is having a colanoscopy tomorrow and I am sure if I am in the kitchen for any length of time lots of whining will commence! :headache:

On top of that it is raining and I have to go to the library and grocery store. Have to return A LOT of books before I incure fines the size of the national debt and they have ground turkey on sale at the grocery store until today.

:faint: just thinking about your day. I hope your Mom's test goes okay.

Sorry I'm late getting on here today. Mary began throwing up yesterday, and so I've been keeping an eye on her. I know she's feeling better, as she wants to be up and running around. I kind of like it when all she does is want to nap!

Oh my goodness. Wasn't she sick just a little while ago? The poor little things can never really get past all of the colds and bugs going around,m they no sooner get over one another is going around. Spring cannot come soon enough for me, and probably is way overdue for you and the rest of the Moms with kids in school. I hope she feels better real soon.

My mother made the best sauce from scratch, she wasn't a very good cook, but this was outstanding. My dad just found 2 dishes of it in the back of the freezer. He is going to saver every bite of it. He will be able to get 3 meals from each dish. (the man loves pasta so he won't mind eating it every day, lol) He was so excited and emotional at the same time. I am sure he will be in tears eating it due to the memories, happy and sad. My poor Daddy..:sad1:

:grouphug: Wendie, I am in tears thinking about your Dad. For you too. I dreaded every Holiday that was coming up because I looked at like "the first....", "the first.....", and then the year was over. I don't know when it happened but it is easier now, to talk about my Mom and to celebrate a special day. I am still waiting for the Holiday that I don't feel like I have "to get through", but I know it will come too.

We are all here for you.

My Aunt had a terrible day. I was with her for several hours and got her to eat something, she is positive "they" are trying to poison her. "They" are all pickpockets and she was terrified. Gail and Mike went this evening. My other sister works there and was able to get her some ativan to help. She tossed my cousin out today. She takes it all so personally and my poor aunt just does not know half of what she is saying. Please say a prayer that the Dr can find something to ease this. Apparently at this facility she cannot have an antipsychotic drug and I guess this helped her in the hospital. The Dr had given her Haldall (sp) and she was more herself.

Dinner was good. Stuffed peppers, finally, mashed potatoes, broccoli and salad.

I know I missed a lot but you gals were chatty tonight.

She actually accomplished something for the first time since her stroke - she jumped up into her rocking chair on her own.:yay: I'd been picking her up.:goodvibes She's come such a long way in a week.:woohoo:

Way to go Sammie!
Keep it up :grouphug:

I love cuban food especially ropa vieja!!! I think I had one on the old thread & so did Jenny. But I can post it, if you want one.

He actually hates Ropa Vieja!! I have a couple dishes he likes, but he is more a fan of the cuban-type casseroles. Things with rice, and a meat of some sort marinated. I have mastered Lentil soup, and 3-4 other things. He makes me a dish called Mangu.... i could make plantains but we are *trying* to eat healthy around here.

His Aunties make a couple of stews but it isn't anything that is written down.

Besides, he really isn't too picky. He is just happy I can cook since most of his friends live off take out. Apparently he is envied by his buddies since he gets home cooked food on a regular basis. Ha ha ha..... The agreement we have is I cook it and he cleans it.

We have a big weekend ahead of us, so we are going out tonight to a local Greek/Italian restaurant.

WFD at your house?

ETA: I went to The Rush and worked out for the first time yesterday. It was awesome!!! They have a hand cycle (it's exactly what it sounds like) and it is a Godsend!!!!!!!!! I did that for about 20 minutes and then did some weights. I am sore today and loving it!! I am going back this morning.

Nancy, Prayers for your Aunt.

Lindsay, Good for you! Isn't that burn from working out great? :) I did OK this week...did a tape 3xs and need to do something today.

Wendie,

Not sure what dinner will be. Andrew is going by his Dads and Tom has a "man date" ;) so I think I will be alone...if I feel like picking something up, maybe chinese...they do not deliver around here. If not, some leftovers.

Have a great day all!

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

When Buddy is going out with a friend DD says he is with his "Best Friend Girl Friend" :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

My overly macho Hubby has gotten used to her teasing but just found out his buddy's wife tells him his "GF" is calling whenever he calls :rotfl2::rotfl2:

no cooking for me this evening. Buddy's cousin and her DH are back "home for a visit so we are having sinner at a local seafood restaurant. Lindsay, they moved to your beautiful state a little over a year ago and are loving it!

As you can see from above, I had fish tacos tonight. I used Janice's creamy chipotle sauce (YUM) but I didn't have yogurt, so I substituted sour cream. I also had the spicy slaw Beck posted. The picture was really blurry, so I didn't post it, but the slaw was great.

Food porn = excellent, but at 7:30 in the a.m. it's just intesified my craving for fish tacos. No fair ! ;) I can't have them tonight either. DS has his 1st ball game this evening with team pics scheduled before warmups, so we'll be inhaling an early supper or picnicking at the ball park.

Shovan - I know it's late, but did you think of pan-frying the fish instead of deep-frying? That usually helps eliminate most of the mess, & it's not quite so greasy. Southern Living magazine had a good article in last month's issue on alternative "frying" methods for a lot of classic southern dishes like catfish & chicken-fried steak. I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, but they sounded really good.

:cheer2: Congratulations to you all!:cheer2: I know how much work a pitcher goes thru. I have a niece who pitches fast-pitch softball, she is a senior in HS. The dedication is amazing. I know the stress of watching them and the pride seeing them succeed.

This a very hard time, prayers for all! :grouphug:

***wfd*** Today is shopping day with my Mom. Then we will probably do take out Fish & Chips. I am so glad it is Friday, it is nice knowing I have Ron home for the next two days!

Party is tomorrow so I wont be doing much cooking this weekend. I will fill you all in after. Have a nice weekend ladies!

Ann

Ann, Have a great time tomorrow!!! I wish your parents all the best!

Laura, I meant to comment on your tacos...they look really yummy! I have wanted to try them for a while now. I think next time I see them on a menu, I will. Tommy boy does not like fish so I rarely make seafood at home...hmm, I guess I could always make him beef tacos and fish for myself. :)
